Haines His Way

Husband is a long distance trucker currently working in the far northwest wilds of Canada

When we arrive the desk clerk there explained he couldn’t allow us access because the account  she used to online book the room was in her husbands name and his ID must be presented to release the room

So we trudged over to the new hotel carrying all the luggage

She also validated our parking

The woman at the desk was very apologetic and helped us find a new hotel only three blocks away ( the short way)

And had given the room to someone else

Apparently the credit card holding their reservation had expired at the end of last month and although a new one had been issued with the same exact number and the new expiration date some years hence, the credit card company had denied the charges, so the hotel had cancelled the reservation 

This morning

To discover their reservation had been cancelled

Parked the car across the street and went to check them in
