Well, you've read the notes, the notes raced by and beat the clock, and now it is time for you to post until the racing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FLOUT!
-
BK, good luck with your rehearsal today and I hope that the performances go much, much much (that's three muches) better than you expect!!
-
I just watched "16 Blocks (http://www.amazon.com/16-Blocks-Widescreen-Bruce-Willis/dp/B000FFL2G6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1244965685&sr=1-1)" on one of the hi-def channels. It sounded interesting. Basically, Bruce Willis has to get Mos Def from a jail to a grand jury inquest that's 16 blocks away. Along the way, things happen...bad things. And then the bad guys (who are cops!) try to stop them. It seems to take place in real time...no cut-aways that are later in the day, or the next morning. It was pretty intense and I liked it.
-
And now, I must get to sleep. Good night.

HAPPY FLAG DAY, EVERYONE!!!!!
To celebrate, in church we are singing a motet devilishly devised by my DH. To the text of "Surge, Illuminare." The tune of "You're a Grand Old Flag" weaves semi-obscured between the various voice parts.
-
Good morning, all! I am out of bed and shortly out the door. I have a lot of proofing and readying more work for the copyists on Life Begins At 8:40. I also need to sort through the materials on the editions of LADY OF THE SLIPPER and BABES IN TOYLAND, Vol. 2 to get us ready for the next round. After that, I have a date with Ron Raines to help him with his iTunes.
I enjoyed BURN NOTICE a lot, although the storyline about Michael's birthday dinner got lost in the shuffle. When I get home tonight, I'll catch up on ROYAL PAINS.

We spent some of last night setting up a digital television box to see how many channels we get as a possible first step in getting rid of cable.
The box works and we get all the channels we want to get which is basically CBS, NBC, ABC the two locals, CW and My9, Channel 13, Channel 25 (local educational channel) and ION (Channel 31) We also get all the sub channels so we now have two weather channels. The box is low-end and the remote is not great but if we figure out how to hook up the VCR/DVD player to the box we may be on our way to cutting cable. I will miss New York One and Channel 21 (the other PBS station) but not enough to keep Time Warner. Our television viewing is so low that we are happy with what we get over the air. We will live with it for a couple of weeks and make the decision.
I must say that the picture is great, even on this old television from 2000. The only problem is when the signal is weak you get nothing, no snow, no ghosts, just nothing. But, that's OK.

Nudie Musical vibes of all sorts to bk

Vibes of good luck to BK and cast. ~~~~~~~~~~

DR Jane i didn't get on the internet yesterday. But you asked a question about the baking for the daycare garage sale.
Actually luckily it seemed like a few people did bake. It was hard since the baked goods were outside. So the other people mostly baked cupcakes and cookies.
I baked muffins (banana, and blueberry/banana). And i also baked some easy chocolate chip cupcakes.
-
re: food on cruise ships being crappy.
I totally disagree. While the buffets might not be 5 stars, IMO the sit down dinners are practically gourmet. I thought the quality was very high.
-
Btw, shockingly enough my niece went on the pony, the bouncy inflatables and a huge inflatable slide.
She would normally never do all 3. But i encouraged her to try them all. And she loved them!
-
Today is the 20th Anniversary of my divorce. I don't have any emotional connection to it anymore. We were only married a year and only knew each other 4 days before we got married, but when I walked out of the courthouse (Central Court Building in Phoenix) the flags were flying for flag day. That's what I remember every June 14th
-
I am up. It wasn't supposed to rain today but it did and looks like it could rain more. I am very glad I got all my yard work done yesterday
-
Our TV stations all went totally digital back in February. I don't get enough stations to go totally without cable, but wish I did
-
Today I have a few hours of work to do at the office, laundry to do and a little cleaning up around the house. I better get to it
-
Oh! CBS Sunday Morning is doing a story on The High Line
-
The High Line story was very quick, only a minute or two. I didn't see DR Jose or Monkey... :)
-
That is an interesting Flag Day story, DR CILLA LIZ.
-
Time to medicate the cat and get some breakfast. Laters....
-
DR ELMORE tell Mr Raines that I like his LA MANCHA cd very much......he should send me an autograph to put in the display case in the lobby.
-
Since DR MATTH didn't comment again, and DR GEORGE and DR MBARNUM were mum as well, I can only assume that DARK PRESENCE was not broadcast yesterday.
-
I just watched "16 Blocks (http://www.amazon.com/16-Blocks-Widescreen-Bruce-Willis/dp/B000FFL2G6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1244965685&sr=1-1)" on one of the hi-def channels. I *LOVED* it. It was one of the first movies I was determined to get on Blu-ray because I found the movie so gripping and I wanted the best picture and sound possible. I wasn't disappointed, and I've watched it at least a dozen times since I bought it.
-
Whew! KISS ME KATE closed to a sold out house, but the audience was not quite as responsive as Friday night's audience....in fact they were quiet, although we got nice applause and I got all of my laughs except one...
Then the set was struck and the props and costumes were all put away. Of course for some reason three of the Shakespearean hats that were rented disappeared somewhere between the stage and the dressing room. And all of the boys were very excited to learn that they could have their tights for their very own.
There was too much food - too many acts in the "talent show" and too little actual talent on display. There were about 8 good presentation out of 17....it all ended a little after 3 a.m. I now I am preparing for my MAN OF LA MANCHA auditions which begin at 3 p.m. today.
Hopefully I will get some good people. I will not be using many of the "stars" from KISS ME KATE because of their rehearsal habits and annoying backstage behavior.
-
I now have two new titles for my autobiography:
MEDICATE THE CAT
and
WHAT HE PERCEIVES ARE PERSONAL REASONS
-
Vibes for NUDIE......
-
Since DR MATTH didn't comment again, and DR GEORGE and DR MBARNUM were mum as well, I can only assume that DARK PRESENCE was not broadcast yesterday.
It was not. I looked not only at all of the roadcasts of the program yesterday, but did a program search, and that episode did not come up.
-
Page Two Dance!!!
-
Good morning!
I didn't open up the windows last night when I went to bed, so the AC came on and off during the night to keep the temperature in the house tolerable. It was cool enough this morning to open everything again, but it's to be 88 today, so things won't be open long.
-
Took some time this morning to move the PS3 out of the equipment stack and move in the backup player. Then I got the SeasonPlay viewer profile loaded and am ready to start on LOST when I start work on Season Two this afternoon.
-
On TV Tonight!™
CBS - PASSWORD
NBC - DATELINE
HBO - TRUE BLOOD (season premiere)
USA - LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, IN PLAIN SIGHT
-
Thanks DR MATTH for the information. I don't know what they're doing with episode 23, but it's certainly taking its time getting to the small screen.
-
I'm really looking forward to TRUE BLOOD tonight. I'll interupt my work on LOST to watch it at the end of the evening.
-
Thanks DR MATTH for the information. I don't know what they're doing with episode 23, but it's certainly taking its time getting to the small screen.
Glad to help. However, do me a favor and remind us again in a few days to pick up the search.
-
Bruce--
Sending good {{{{{{{{{vibes}}}}}}}}}} for a great and productive rehearsal!
-
LOL....you KNOW I will!
-
Off to put MAN OF LA MANCHA in a box, into the car, and then to the theatre...which is still warm from KISS ME KATE.
-
"Success" vibes for the entire
NUDIE cast and crew!
-
And the word of the day is: FLOUT!
I think DR Sandra serves this as a dessert for floop!
-
I'm heading down earlier than usual to get a running start on LOST.
WBBL.

Good morning.
I just love getting up and reading the posts.
I'll have to buy 16 Blocks, sounds like my kind of movie.
Dear Cillaliz, liked you story about flag day.
And a happy flag day to all.
Must go, busy day, trying to be home by 3:00 to do laundry and watch a movie or listen to a cd, have not done that for a week.
-
Later ;D
-
That is an interesting Flag Day story, DR CILLA LIZ.
Those flags, why I can't forget today my sister would have been 65.
-
I am also really looking forward to TRUE BLOOD. Although my sis has to record it for me. So she may wait and do a few episodes together.
It should be interesting because i've read book 2 of the sookie stackhouse series. Whereas when i watched Season 1 i had not read books 1 or 2. There are differences. And it was a few months ago. So hopefully it won't ruin the show for me.
-
Thanks DR jose for giving that link re: facebook usernames. I had not heard about that!
-
I'm curious re: facebook. For those who chose their usernames, did they put first name, period, last name to claim their names? That's what i did since that is how many email address is now.
-
DR ELMORE tell Mr Raines that I like his LA MANCHA cd very much......he should send me an autograph to put in the display case in the lobby.
DR JRand58, I'll put him on it today.
-
Lovely photos DR Laura.
DR Matt H, yes I meant Origins. It seems to have left our area already. I was hoping to catch it on the big screen.
DR Cilla, how do you feel today?
-
It is gonna be in the 80s and hot and sunny today. My sis, my mom and i are taking my niece swimming. She is only 3 but has been taking swimming lessons with her daycare. So this will be the first time i've been in the water with her that she will be able to swim by herself (with her bubble).
-
DR Sam I usually skip the days I missed unless I’m looking for something. Sometimes I will just read the post of an individual DR if I’m following a storyline.
Packing, sorting, and comfort vibes!
-
DR Jennifer thanks for the baking report. Good for Megan experiencing the new activities yesterday!
What cruise line did you travel where the food was so good, and how long ago?
-
Good Morning! Good Afternoon!
I'm up, I'm up... And even though I probably should not have slept in, I could tell that I needed the sleep. I could literally feel my body just starting to shut down last night. I think I must have asleep within seconds after I got into bed and turned off the lights.
-
DR Sam - Me? Sarcastic? Surely you jest? ;D
-
I'm up late - needed the sleep, I guess, but if I'm to jog I have to go right now.
-
Oh...
DR Sam - As for the meatballs with grape jelly and chili sauce, it's one of those classic party chafing dish dishes. Just simmer a bag of frozen meatballs with a jar of grape jelly and a bottle of chili sauce. It also works with Little Smokies.
-
DR Jrand, I checked the UFO Hunter episodes that I recorded and none of the 3 were the episode that you were looking for.
-
Thank you DR DAW, so far so good.
-
Sometimes I will just read the post of an individual DR if Im following a storyline.
I must admit, I never thought of my posts as forming a "storyline." :D
And now that I consider it, let's just say that I'm very scared. ;)
-
The Kritzerland CDs arrived in the mail yesterday like a gazelle on a speed boat! I am very much looking forward to listening to "The Brain" while driving in my motorcar. I'm also really excited about seeing the "Nudie" reading on Tuesday. And since I know it's overbooked, I will be sure to show up early so my seat isn't given away to some other schmuck.
-
I thought that the sit-down dinners on the Holland America cruise [several years ago, now] were of gourmet quality.
-
I'm curious re: facebook. For those who chose their usernames, did they put first name, period, last name to claim their names? That's what i did since that is how many email address is now.
It seems that most people are keeping their FB username consistent with the email or some other screenname they use elsewhere. -If it was still available, of course.
-
DR JRand - The "talent show" lasted until 3:00AM?!?! Even though you don't have today off, I do hope that you get a few moments here and there just to sit back and relax. And maybe even nap.
-
I shall save my Nudie vibes for tomorrow and Tuesday. In the meantime, I hope that bk and company have a good, productive and as-stressless-as-possible rehearsal today.
-
OOHH!!!
Apparently, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day!!!
Hmmm..... :)
-
Good morning, everyone!
-
OOHH!!!
Apparently, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day!!!
OMG!!!
We do get all the best food reporting here at HHW!
(And I wanted to lose another five pounds...)
-
Never a dull moment for JRand. Best of luck for Man of La Mancha.
-
May I add my GREAT REHEARSAL vibes to BK?
-
I enjoyed Jose's photos of the HIGH LINE. What a great idea! I hadn't heard anything about it. A park in the air. Who'd athunk it?
-
And since I was recently "reminded" about this clip...
Chris Elliot - The Making of the Cast Album for "Housewives" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAwgjSXdTPE)*
*It could also be titled, "Chris Elliot as Elaine Stritch". ;)
-
I enjoyed Jose's photos of the HIGH LINE. What a great idea! I hadn't heard anything about it. A park in the air. Who'd athunk it?
Thanks, DR Jeanne. I need to go through the 150 pics I took yesterday morning and post some of those.
-
I'll look forward to them, Jose.
-
That is all.
TTFN.
-
Back from the two-mile jog - no time for the long jog. Must now shower and be on my way.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from Lima and I'm ready for a nap. Getting up at 5:30am two mornings in a row has caught up with me.
Vibes to BK and the cast of TFNM's first staged readings!
-
I thought that the sit-down dinners on the Holland America cruise [several years ago, now] were of gourmet quality.
How few, because ours just 3 years ago was a real disappointment. Gourmet was what we had years & years ago on Princess. Granted we are very picky & our diet is limited, however, others at our table were also complaining. On both cruises we did have some yummy foods as well as the mediocre. I know what to expect if we go again.
-
Lovely photos DR Laura.
DR Matt H, yes I meant Origins. It seems to have left our area already. I was hoping to catch it on the big screen.
DR Cilla, how do you feel today?
I feel pretty good. I'm a bit sore, but that has more to do with mowing the yard and the cut-throat game of Wii Tennis and the Wii Bowling I played for an hour last night. :)
-
Oh...
DR Sam - As for the meatballs with grape jelly and chili sauce, it's one of those classic party chafing dish dishes. Just simmer a bag of frozen meatballs with a jar of grape jelly and a bottle of chili sauce. It also works with Little Smokies.
I've made that with little smokies
-
OOHH!!!
Apparently, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day!!!
Hmmm..... :)
And I just bought strawberries at the store yesterday!
-
OOHH!!!
Apparently, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day!!!
OMG!!!
We do get all the best food reporting here at HHW!
(And I wanted to lose another five pounds...)
Strawberries are good diet food.
-
Cillaliz, today should be your Freedom Day! That's a great reason to celebrate!
-
I saw in today's obits that actor and writer Chip Hand passed away. The name sounded so familiar to me, but I don't know why. Had he been mentioned on HHW before? Or maybe I saw him in an episode of Room 222, or something.
-
I will admit I'm a bit tired right now. So I'm taking it a bit easy for a while. I just had a nice lunch and I was very hungry, so that should help. I made a hamburger with fresh tomato and lettuce from my garden on 12 grain bread with asparagus cooked al dente and cottage cheese with fresh tomato on the side and a big glass of skim milk. Watermelon for dessert. Nothing fancy, but very filling
-
It is very hot and muggy here, and we still aren't officially into summer yet. Oh, lordy, I think this summer is going to be sweltering here.
-
Page Four Dance!!!
-
Cillaliz, today should be your Freedom Day! That's a great reason to celebrate!
LOL! Frankly, it doesn't seem like I was ever married, but I've never had the inclination to get married again. It would be a great freedom day, but I think I like the idea of a floating freedom day....whenever I really need it, I can just declare it's Freedom Day and celebrate!
-
Because I started early and I didn't watch THE FASHION SHOW while I ate lunch, I got almost 7 episodes of LOST watched this afternoon. Just as good as I remembered them being, but I didn't remember Shannon meeting her maker quite so fast. And, of course, now all those visions of people that folks had for all those years now make sense after season 5.
-
Freedom Day is yours to celebrate whenever and however you wish. Just celebrate your freedom from whatever was pinning you down.
-
And the Blu-rays really look astounding for season two. So far, I'd say these transfers are slightly better than season one and better than season four. Sound is wonderful but so far not quite as immersive as season one.
-
I think it's a wonderful holiday.
-
It's turned into a beautiful day here. Think I'll throw a load into the washer and go outside to get a little vitamin D
-
Since DR MATTH didn't comment again, and DR GEORGE and DR MBARNUM were mum as well, I can only assume that DARK PRESENCE was not broadcast yesterday.
Not that I could find.
-
Today is the 20th Anniversary of my divorce. I don't have any emotional connection to it anymore. We were only married a year and only knew each other 4 days before we got married, but when I walked out of the courthouse (Central Court Building in Phoenix) the flags were flying for flag day. 11 years ago today, I bought my car: a green Ford Escort. It was the first new car that I ever owned...but only the third car that I owned. I plan on having it for a few more years, at least. :)
-
Here is a picture (taken at an odd angle) of me with my new glasses:

;D
-
The net seems kind of quiet this afternoon, so I'm going to head back down, put up my already folded laundry, and then head back to continue with LOST with a break later tonight to enjoy the season premiere of TRUE BLOOD.
WBBL.
-
Well, I put a load of laundry in the dryer and now I need to take a shower. After that, I'm going back to my sister's house to put together some metal shelves, then I have rehearsal later this afternoon. And it'll be a long rehearsal.
Until later.
-
DR Jennifer thanks for the baking report. Good for Megan experiencing the new activities yesterday!
What cruise line did you travel where the food was so good, and how long ago?
It was Carnival cruise line. Although my parents have been on Norwegian many times and they found the same thing i did. My cruise was i think in 2000.
-
I'm curious re: facebook. For those who chose their usernames, did they put first name, period, last name to claim their names? That's what i did since that is how many email address is now.
It seems that most people are keeping their FB username consistent with the email or some other screenname they use elsewhere. -If it was still available, of course.
I was just curious if your name is taken if it was first name, period, last name.
Or could you simply use some other form of space/dash/hyphen in between your names.
The first option they gave me was first name, period, last name. So i was just wondering if that was what other people got too.
-
DR JRand - The "talent show" lasted until 3:00AM?!?! Even though you don't have today off, I do hope that you get a few moments here and there just to sit back and relax. And maybe even nap.
Why, Jose, haven't you ever had a talent show last until 3:00 a.m.?
-
Back from the two-mile jog - no time for the long jog. Must now shower and be on my way.
I hope that BK remembered to dress after the shower!
-
Nice photo, DR George! :D
-
DR Jane, I think our cruise was in Dec/Jan 2007. To the Carribean.
-
DR Ginny - I think you provided a link to a site some time ago that gave book recommendations; i.e., you enter a title and author that you like, and the site pointed you to other recommended books. Does this sound at all familiar?
-
So i was just wondering if that was what other people got too.
Yes.
-
Here is a picture (taken at an odd angle) of me with my new glasses:

Great glasses, George!

Chip Hand, if I remember correctly, was a "close" friend of Merv Griffith's, if you get my drift. I think our DR Charles Pogue worked with him. Or was it BK?
-
DR Jane, I think our cruise was in Dec/Jan 2007. To the Carribean.
I sure that's only one of many cruises, DRsingdaw?
-
I spent seven hours working on LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40, and I have one number left to edit for the copyists to have the score essentially into the computer. I have some adjustments of previous numbers but the bulk of the work is accomplished.
Now I'm very sleepy.
-

Great Glasses DR George!

I also got a new pair of glasses and I will post them when I get back to Florida
-
Went to Amoeba yesterday. Now I understand why the put all the other stores out of business.
I limited myself to 3 cds although I could have bought at least six more.
I did not have the patients to look through all the dvds and blu rays
-
Also I tried to go to several movie poster memorabilia stores three listed on line are no longer there.
And those that know LA there is one at Sunset and Laurel Canyon. Very difficult to find a parking space
-
Also glad that I got the email re Nudie. I thought it was 8. Its at 7:30

OH, so it was BK who knew Chip Hand. Mystery solved. Whew.
Searching around the internet I came across Chip Hand's Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/chiphand . You can listen to him sing a few different songs...he certainly had a beautiful song.
Strangly enough, he last logged into his myspace page the same day he died. 55 years old, way too young.

OOHH!!!
Apparently, today is also National Strawberry Shortcake Day!!!
OMG!!!
We do get all the best food reporting here at HHW!

Strawberries are good diet food.
So is watermelon. I've been eating a lot of watermelon with my cold.
Glad you are feeling better.
-
DR George, you look very handsome in your new glasses. Did you save your old ones as a back up?
-
Went to Amoeba yesterday. Now I understand why the put all the other stores out of business.
I limited myself to 3 cds although I could have bought at least six more.

DR Jennifer thanks for the baking report. Good for Megan experiencing the new activities yesterday!

It was Carnival cruise line. Although my parents have been on Norwegian many times and they found the same thing i did. My cruise was i think in 2000.
We have never been on either of those. We were very impressed with how organized Princess was. Overall we were very pleased & should we decide to cruise again we might go on them.
-
DR Jane, I think our cruise was in Dec/Jan 2007. To the Carribean.
I thought you said it was a long time ago?
;D
DR Daw did you try the cookies? I thought our HA cruise had horrid cookies, completely uneatable. We had multiple problems with them making errors. I must admit once our group went to complain things improved, too much in fact. Our names must have been on a list to be nice to us & it was so obvious it was embarrassing.
As for the food, I think much is expectation. We were comparing to the food we had on Princess in the 90's& even Princess can't match that.
Once of the things I enjoy about a ship is talking to the international staff. The Romania people really too to us once they new we had visited their country & have a daughter-in-law from there. Many of them said they rarely meet anyone who has been to there.
-
Nice glasses, DR GEORGE.
Thanks, DR ELMORE....I shall await the results.
I had six....count them....six people at auditions today. That's the bad news. The good news is that I can definitely use 5 of them.....and I can use all six if necessary....depending on the turnout tomorrow.
-
DR Ginny - I think you provided a link to a site some time ago that gave book recommendations; i.e., you enter a title and author that you like, and the site pointed you to other recommended books. Does this sound at all familiar?
DR DAW - in library-speak, that's called Reader Advisory and, yes, there are some websites. You might try:
http://www.hclib.org/pub/bookspace/FindaGoodBook.cfm (http://www.hclib.org/pub/bookspace/FindaGoodBook.cfm)
or

Hey, DR Ginny - thanks a bunch!!!!! :-* :-* :-*

Hey, DR Ginny - thanks a bunch!!!!! :-* :-* :-*
You're welcome, DR DAW. Some of the best RA tools are fee-based databases (Novelist and What Do I Read Next?). You might be able to access them through your local public library.
-
No DRJOSE - I didn't get much sleep last night, but I shall go to bed early tonight....like right now!
DR MBARNUM thanks for recording the UFO HUNTERS for me....perhaps some day my sister's episode will really be shown. I don't need any of the others.
-
I had six....count them....six people at auditions today. That's the bad news. The good news is that I can definitely use 5 of them.....
I would have been the sixth one.

I would rather book a six week cruise to Iceland on the Staten Island Ferry than ever set foot on a Norwegian Cruise Ship again. The worst food and the rudest service I have ever experienced.
I love most of the other cruise lines I have sailed on (although I am a little old for the Carnival experience anymore). Princess has always been consistantly first rate; and after November, I will let you know about Oceania Cruises.

Have you ever been on a Crystal cruise?

Good Evening!
Today turned out to be quite a stunner of a day here in New York City. The sun came back out, the temps stayed on the cool side, and there's been a nice breeze blowing too.
-
And now I shall attempt to post while I watch the season premiere of "True Blood".
-
Have you ever been on a Crystal cruise?
Are you asking me, Jane? No, I have never been on Crystal, although I would like to check them out.

May I order that kind of weather for two weeks from now?

Ginny, have you figured out how you are going to get north of the city on that Sunday night or Monday morning?
-
My friend, Allen, called me up earlier, and said he was in the mood to go to a Street Fair. So, we went to the Street Fair that happened to be taking place in DR elmore's 'hood. It was on Broadway from 73rd up to 86th. It was the usual street fair set up, with the usual street fair vendors. We just did a lot of browsing and people-watching. Allen did end up getting a sausage and peppers sandwich. I really wasn't in the mood for street fair food, so, instead, I ended getting two hot dogs with everything from Gray's Papaya. ;)

Yes, I was asking you. I suppose I'm interested if any DR has been on them. I thought you might have at some time. I would like to try them.

DR George - Nice (new) glasses.

DR TCB - we gave up. It was just Richard who would have gone to the ordination. We investigated trains, busses (with DR Elmore's help), and even planes, but nothing seemed like it would work. Thanks for asking.

How about Silver Seas? The cruise my parents took earlier this year was on Silver Seas, and they loved it. I've also had some friends who have worked on cruise ships from time to time, and they've all said that the Silver Seas ships had the best accommodations for the staff and entertainers.
As for Norwegian... I've heard varying things about them. It seems to be vary from ship to ship.

DR Jane - It could have been. However, street fairs take place almost every weekend throughout the summer. And according this this schedule (http://manhattan.about.com/od/eventsandattractions/a/junestreetfairs.htm), there were plenty of them this weekend.

Is that place related to Papa Yaking?

No, but they're all the same: same vendors, same acts, same food.

Both Crystal and Silver Seas are a little out of my price range. When you are sailing alone, you are usually paying 200% for a cabin. Oceania would be out of my price range, too, if they hadn't offered some incredible values.
-
I like the idea the accommodations for the staff are nicer then most. The ships are on the smaller size so they should be able to prepare finer meals than the large ships, and serve them at the correct temperatures.
-
I know what you mean DR TCB & our friend who books cruises was saying when you compare the cost, it still comes out better to splurge at the specialty restaurants on Princess than to travel on the high end ships.

Does it stop anywhere?

After wandering around the UWS, I went ahead and started my trek back uptown via Central Park. I hung around Strawberry Fields for a little bit listening to the ad hoc band that gathers there every once and a while. -They play Beatles' songs, of course.
Then I continued up the path to The Delacorte...
-
The reason we chose the cruise we did is it had 2 vs 3 days at sea. Keith would like to take an Arctic cruise & I'm game. If I am lucky enough to travel to Europe again I would like do a land trip & have more time to explore the local cuisine & sit at outdoor restaurants.

Sometimes they stop in Cherbourg and in Ireland; other times they go non-stop NY to Southhampton.

G'night!

The Cunard has a book club, my kind of ship. :)

Shocking news about Chip Hand. And yes, he was the subject in these here notes a couple of months ago, and was the reason I got on the Merv Griffin Show to do the "backer's audition" of Start At The Top. He was a great guy, and yes, far too young.
-
When I got up to The Delacorte, I just wanted to see how long the stand-by line was for tonight's performance of Twelfth Night. I didn't get there until around 5:45, and it was only about 80 people deep - which is relatively short. So...
My roommate, Megan, had mentioned that tonight would be the only night she could see Twelfth Night, but, because of her schedule, she wasn't going to be able to wait in line this morning, and she wasn't going to be able to get in the stand-by line until close to curtain time. So...
I got in line.
I ended up right standing with a good group of people, friendly and chatty. The two women right behind me were "in the biz" - or, at the least, trying to still be in the biz. They were quite entertaining. "Oh, I love Twelfth Night! In fact, I once was in a production of Twelfth Night with Faye Dunaway!! -I believe she mentioned that bit of information at least ten times.
They started handing out the stand-by tickets around 7:00. The hander-outer would come by every ten minutes or so with another batch of tickets. My roommate finally got there around 7:40. And at 7:55, I got a ticket. And then I gave it to her. And then I went home.
*She texted me at intermission: "I'm sitting next to Hope Davis!" :)

If you happen to be in the mood to give a Disney Cruise a try over the next couple of months, now would be a good time. They are running some crazy-good specials right now. In fact, I may take one myself in July since the staff rate may just be too good to resist.

Back from rehearsal and supper. I feel much better after today's rehearsal and I have to imagine the cast does, too. We started off by doing a speed-through of act two, just for positions and transitions. We took a break and then we did a straight ahead run-through from start to finish. Amazingly, it went somewhat smoothly, with only a couple of hiccups in both acts - despite my admonition that we not stop no matter what, we had to a couple of times, but only for a few seconds. I was pretty pleased with the pace and best of all it was pretty funny. It's the first time the cast as a whole has actually heard it all the way through and there were lots of really big laughs. Alet is hilarious, Ted was MUCH better today (I think last night's chat had its desired effect), Niki is terrific, and so is everyone else. Our Juanita is really finding her own rhythm and take on the role, and our Dick Davis, who really wasn't the type I was looking for, has turned out to be incredible and if he wants to go on this journey with the show I'd be more than happy to have him do so. After the run, we cleaned up a bunch of stuff and ran the the big sequence in act one that was the most ragged. It's much cleaner now. And then I delivered a big box o' CDs and am home by seven-thirty. I think I'll go sit on the couch like so much fish and watch a motion picture on Blu-Ray.
-
Oh... Great season premiere of "True Blood"!
-
SHIPOOPI!
-
DR George's new glasses are exactly like the ones I'd like to get once I get an up-to-date prescription.
-
Amoeba, Amorba.
Funny how priorities fall. If I were there, I'd be going through the DVDs and Blu-rays and would probably skip the CDs unless I had time.
-
I am pleased that I got 13 episodes of LOST watched today. If I had chosen to skip TRUE BLOOD for later, I could have done one more, but I did feel I earned the one hour of pleasure viewing.
-
Season Two has really turned out wonderfully, and I had forgotten a fair amount of stuff. Forgot completely about Sawyer's long con on his girl friend. I forgot about Charlie's scam with Sawyer to get the guns under Sawyer's control. Forgot where Sun lost her wedding ring until right before she found it. And so much of the first Mr. Eko back story now rang a lot truer with him finding his brother's body. And very moving when Jack broke up with his wife.
-
I certainly did enjoy TRUE BLOOD's premiere tonight with another murder to start the season and some real surprises pulled on the viewer. Promises to be such a good season.
-
Well,l I'm going to try to do a little bit of writing, but I'm feeling slightly drowsy so I might not get much done.
Good night!

Well, after the past 72 hours, I really do need to try to get to bed at a semi-normal hour tonight, so...
Goodnight.
-
As for Norwegian... I've heard varying things about them. It seems to be vary from ship to ship.
It varies from ship to ship, and it also depends on which itinerary you happen to book.
-
Finished watching Dr. No on Blu-Ray and am now relaxing.
-
Did DRJANE just ask if any HHW'er had been on Crystal Meth?
-
Watched VIVA LAS VEGAS on Blu Ray - what fun! Yes, DR MATTH it is quite a stunner in BLU RAY. I think MR BK mentioned the same thing last week. You can really tell the difference if you watch the trailer which has NO enhancement.
I then watched QUANTUM OF SOLACE in Blu Ray.....that Daniel Craig shore iz a handsome James Bond. And the opening titles were most entertaining.
I am topping it off with ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE on my Blu Ray player - and it is such a fun movie. And of course the song is a trip and can be heard on the Kritzerland release:
JEEPERS CREEPERS.
-
Has anyone heard for sure when the new Van Helsing's Journal and/or Scarlet magazine is coming out?
-
Why am I still up?
-
And so to bed and hoping that we get a dozen keepers at auditions....later today!
-
Good night everyone.
Happy Monday.
Hugs and :-*
