I'm lucky that my free day tomorrow is actually paid (not to make me sound special), considering all the tsuris the office has been through the past 8 months.

DR TCB click control panel, then hardware, then mouse.  go to the tab Pointer Options and make sure Display Pointer Trails is disabled.

It might also be too many programs running at once or low memory - that's my only guess.

Thank you for the suggestion, Jrand.  It didn't help, but it was worth a shot.  I may just have to invest in that charcoal.com.

I don't believe I have ever seen "Nellie".  I have it set to autorecord if it is ever on tv.

It is a really wonderful nostalgic movie.  David Wayne is wonderful, and I think Jean Peters is Nellie.

I watched a movie today that I have not seen since I was probably 10 years old....it is much funnier now....they must have reshot some scenes last week before TCM showed it today.

Regina: It makes a girl feel funny.  One day she has a man that weighs 211 pounds and the next day all she's got is a shot put medal.

LOL

And if I remember correctly - these freed days cannot be taken the day before or after a holiday, because you must be in "pay status" on those days to get the paid holiday.

Actually one of the proposals would link as many of the furlough days, as possible, to existing three day weekends.

Sorry, DR TCB....maybe someone smarter can give another suggestion.....have you cleared your cache and checked to make sure the Mouse Connection to your computer is pushed in all the way?

A LASH AND A LACK - my new biography about Lucille Ball

LOL.....I like that title.  I know that Lucy was ready to fire Viv on the first day they met, because Viv came in all dolled up and pretty...but Desi had seen her in a plain jane role in VOICE OF THE TURTLE and knew she was perfect for the part.

It's so odd that all these photos of Valerie Harper as Lucy are on HHW.  :)

I just put up a goofy "Lucy & Viv Mame parody," about the rumored clause in Viv's contract that she would try to look frumpy compared to Lucy.

The last note especially is a tribute to Lucy in MAME.

Very cute, Fred, but you should warn Jane that the video contains scenes of rare meat!

It is strange to think of a lot of you as having heavy snow conditions (whiteout even); since the only flakes I have seen this year are on my head... and shoulders.

I like David Wayne.  Yes, it is Jean Peters.  I wonder how many years I'll have to wait to see the movie.

Greetings, Kritzerfans.  New kid on the block here, so go easy on me.  ;)

Thanks, Bruce, for the forum invite, not to mention your kindness and hospitality on Saturday.  We had a blast at Musso and Frank.  I can't wait to get back up to LA and indulge in some more of that heavenly gravy.  Come to think of it, I should've requested a gallon to go!  ;D

Hi Laura.  I only just recently learned of its existence, so I can't even claim prior-lurker status.  Bruce told me you were a great bunch of people here, so I'm happy to be aboard.

Thanks for the welcome!

In addition to the later photos that DR GEORGE has posted, here is a photo of Vivian during the late 1930's when she was appearing regularly in stock and on Broadway.  This is the way she always pictured herself, so you can imagine her distress at becoming famous as "Ethel Mertz."
