Ginny, glad to hear the 50th Anniversary event went well. We are about to commence with many 50th Anniversary events, culminating in a shindig at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian in the old Customs House down on Bowling Green at the end of Manhattan. We are having an "event" then our Board of Directors will have a private dinner. Staff is invited to the event but not the dinner.
...

I received an invitation to the event (but not the dinner...)  Don't think I'll make it

DR JRand - I did indeed meet the Head Quack, Jeanne Bice.  She was and it a total hoot!  Once I collate all the pictures that everyone has been sending to me, I'll be sure to post a couple of them here.

DR MBarnum - If you want a 'reason' to head to DC before the end of the year, you may want to check out the website for the actor who's playing Kodaly in our production:

I eagerly await photos.

And speaking of pics... and the cruise... and "strange coincidences"... ;-)

During the first formal night on the cruise, while heading to dinner...

This happened:

And for those DRs who may not be familiar with the other fine fellow in the above pics, that is DR Jason.  Well, more like "Former-DR-But-Who-Will-Soon-Be-Returning-To-HHW Jason".

Due to some last minute Quacker cancellations, there were a few staterooms available that were already paid for, so... When the group leader asked if if we knew anyone who might like to go on the cruise too...  Well... And since I know that Jason had just gone through an insanely(!) busy period at his new-ish job...

*And he even got to sing the theme from "The Love Boat" on The Love Boat - with Yours Truly accompanying him at the keyboard.  Poolside no less!

TPunk - I agree with JRand. I've worked for 4 different government entities...the person you ABSOLUTELY NEED to have as your friend is the person who does the paperwork, doles out funds or whatever you want to call it. Generally they pull their hair out trying to get everyone to get the paperwork right.  You will make many brownie points giving the money back even of you put in a request for something else. It shows that you are conscious of the budget constraints by taking the spare toy instead of buying a new one etc....

DR FJL (and bk) - Since I just started rehearsals, I don't believe it would be good form for me to take Friday off to head up to NYC for dinner.  Not that I wouldn't mind doing that, but... ;)

-Shall I have some chocolates messengered over in my place?  ;)

I love Laura.....but my money is on Uli!

I loathe and detest Laura, evil personified.  I love it how she protesteth too much about how she really isn't out to get Jeffrey, and then calls him a "heroin addict" in the Daily News article.  Someone should drop a house on her.

He works as a photo editor for a photo agency.  He's been editing all sorts of photos over the past couple of month: award ceremonies, red carpet events, World Cup finals, U.N. speeches, paparazzi photos, etc., etc., etc.  And also fashion shows - the "insanely busy" period he just went through was New York Fashion Week.  Literally THOUSANDS of photos to sort and edit each day.

Dancing with the stars spoiler.....

They did just what I thought they would do.  No one is going home.....  but they didn't announce it until after everyone had called in and spent their money on calls. The votes will carry over to next week, so it isn't a waste, but I figured that's what they would do

Interesting!  Hope he sets aside all Carroll Baker photos for needy bald people in Indiana.

Two collections have shown...gonna be a tough choice.

LOL DRELMORE.....  :P

Where else on all the internet can you find out such information?  ;D

Well... I think an addendum/clarification may be in order...

I was hired to play piano for a few of the Quacker Cruise events on the ship.  I was hired by the agency who arranged the group, not by the Quacker Factory directly.  Besides playing for a few of the shipboard events, I along with some other hired hands helped out some of the "nuts and bolts" of the cruise (ushering, checking in the Quackers, handing out promo items, etc.)   And we all basically got a free cruise vacation in exchange for working a few hours during the seven day cruise.

We had two "Welcome Aboard" cocktail parties - we had to have two of them since there were over 800 Quackers on board, and the club only held about 400 people.  At the conclusion of each cocktail party, our group leader had devised a medley of songs that had been appropriately "Quacker-ized".  Well...  I was the pianist, and a couple of the other workers - who all happened to be actors at one time or another - performed the songs.  Well, we were such a hit at those opening cocktail parties, that we were brought back for the Poolside Sing-A-Long as well as the "Farewell Cocktail Parties".  *The Quackers - including the Head Quack herself, Jeanne Bice - are even demanding that we put out a CD.

Well...  May I present...

Just heard from DR jhvw - he's very busy with getting the election graphics designed and approved at the station, looking for apartments and jobs in Kansas City and just life in general.  He'll be back soon. He says Hi to everyone
