I still see the Cracked cover just fine. I wonder what the problem is? I know someone else saw it because they mentioned it.
TD, you looked great in the clip. You've lost the mustache along with the pounds!
And the word of the day is: BEDIGHT!It's a verb, so I'm changing the tense here...
And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to brand new dear reader jhvw.Happy Birthday, jhvw! Hope yours is a enjoyable as mine was!
;D - but my chest size increased. . . . >:(Why does this remind me of Terri Garr in Oh God:
If I left now, I'd get to Pasadena in time for my meeting. I don't think that flying really saves time.Aeroplane, heliocopter, or balloon? They all have their advantages.
Birthday wishes to JHVW!
Ah 23, that's the age I was when I began my romance with Rodzinski.
And now you're the world's oldest fiancee since Miss Adelaide!
Oh Lordy, Rodzinski is going to have a minor stroke when he reads that. :-* ;D
I'll have to teach Rodzinski how to give Walty his pill. It's much easier now that I drop it into his mouth with a piece of pounce. His love of pounce is stronger than his hatred of the pill. I no longer have to worry about him cheeking then then spitting it out later.
Larry, I see you're listening to The Wiz (OBC). Will you have anything to do with the upcoming revival, now out in California and headed for Broadway later in the season?
Is it just me? Or....does anyone else NOT recall their grade school lunch lady?
Big Brother 7 SPOILER
In reverse order from last night's events:
--James won POV today.
--George nominated James and Erika for Sunday's eviction (this is a double-eviction week)
--George won HOH, besting Danielle in a final question.---Marcellas was evicted.
--Mike Boogie declined to use the Coup D'Etat for this particular eviction ceremony.
--Julie Chen informed Mike Boogie he won the Coup D'Etat and told him he has the power to overturn the HOH and his/her nominations only once for the next three eviction ceremonies. Prior to the live vote, Julie will give him the chance to use his power, at which time he nullifies the existing nominations and names two replacement eviction candidates which will immediately be voted upon by the eligible houseguests.
One week and one day from now I will be getting ready to go see the New York-bound revival of "A Chorus Line."
And I am really excited about it!
We'll expect a full report!
DR Cillaliz - do you have tickets yet for A Chorus Line?
Yes, for Wednesday, Oct 4..the night before it opens.
Be sure to ask DR Elmore about his grade school (or was it junior high?) lunch lady.
Re: last night's televised BIG BROTHER SHOW.
.
.
.
I was happily surprised with chicken george's noms. Very surprised.
But i was disappointed that they did not award janelle anything for winning queen of the prom.
I guess i am stupid. But i thought they might let her compete. What do you guys think would have been fair?
We still have Friday and Saturday open. We both want to see more shows, we just haven't decided what to see. JH loves musicals and so do I. I'm still thinking about The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, though.
Was that Harriet? I really cannot remember!
So, Mr. Moore, you never answered the question. Which female is the basis for Nora from the Nick and Nora series? I didn't know that they were based on real people.
Why don't you each see something? You could see JEAN BRODIE and he could see HAIRSPRAY or something else? No offense, but I'm sure the tour will have a smaller orchestra than Broadway and I have no idea who's playing Edna on tour or on Broadway.
Then you could meet up after, compare notes and make him feel jealous he didn't see what you saw and vice versa!
Yes!
Happy Birthday, newest DR jhvw!!!
*Did you get my e-mails? -And nice to e-meet you too. :)
**And is your twin brother as cute as you are? ;)
I don't think letting her compete would have been fair. She got a crown and says she's going to sell it on eBay, that's enough
Congrats on your Health Report, DR ELMORE.
I just wanted to say thanks for everyone wishing me a happy b'day.
On a different note, there's a movie director Greg Araki that has a movie called "Totally F***ed Up" that I've been looking for forever. I saw it once when I was in LA but it was like $40 for a used VHS, and there was no way I was paying that.
Well, if I'm to jog, then I'm to jog. Someone post the Cracked cover again.
Is it just me? Or....does anyone else NOT recall their grade school lunch lady?
Good Afternoon!
DR George - From last night... Sunday in the Park with George" - ?
BIG BROTHER.
RE: janelle winning queen of the prom.Yes, but people paid to text their votes for queen. The other categories were all online.
People paid and were told the winner would get an advantage in the hoh comp. If mike boogie can get the power to change the hoh noms. Then why not bend the rules here if the winner was the current hoh.
I think the fact that people paid to vote should have meant that the winner got something. I don't find a crown to be anything.
Even if they let her transfer the power to howie.
Does this help?

Today is my sister's 65th birthday.
Maybe I feel this way because I don't like Janelle.
Two major events here:
1. The trees around the library have about 40 parakeets & cockatoos flying around in them. They escaped from a box when being moved from a pet shop.
2. Latest word is that a St. Bernard will be the ringbearer at (a friend of the family's) wedding. (I'm taking my camera).
Is it just me? Or....does anyone else NOT recall their grade school lunch lady?
I certainly remember mine - Mrs. Culp.
And we had those fabulous yeast rolls in elementary, junion, and senior high. It must have been a city-wide recipe.
Universal DVD Set containing INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN, MOLE PEOPLE, MONSTER ON THE CAMPUS, MONOLITH MONSTERS, and TARANTULA will be released this month....they say... Street Date September 19.
I had a wonderful pork tenderloin sandwich for lunch....we always hear that you can only get pork tenderloin sandwiches in the midwest....I've always wondered if that is true.
DR Jose -
Jh's twin is also very cute, but he and JH don't look alike at all. He just recently celebrated one year of wedded bliss with his wife and is working on being the next Clark Kent...well that is if Clark Kent did film reviews and humor columns..
Spider sculpture....GROSS!Don't be absurd.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww...................!!!!!!!!!!
Back from a splendid breakfast/meeting with Alet, and from Mr. Geissman's house. Must now finish entering corrections on the remaining four short stories.
And here is the cover - if I can post it - as I said, for my money Mr. Geissman has really outdone himself.
Oh wow BK, you know I am loving that cover!!!! Just like my vintage paperback books that I love so much!!!!
elmore placed the first order, followed by tomovoz soon thereafter. Now, let's get some others - after all, for any Sondheads there is that pesky world premiere recording of Farewell.
Like "The Hardy Boys and the Gym Coach?"
I bet DR George will be number 3!
How could I ever forget! My Grade School Lunch lady was MOM, and lunch was toted to school in a paper bag. In later school years, the Lunch Lady tried to beg-off by providing coin-of-the realm with which to purhase the Cafeteria swill, but I prefered the home-prepared sandwiches, thank-you very much!
der Brucer
Lunch was usually Salami & Tomato on Rye, Liverwurst and Onion on Rye, Tuna Fish Salad on whole wheat, or Egg Salad on white (Lebanon Balogna of Rye was also offered). Speaking of which - I think I'll raid the ice box for some Lebanon Bologna for lunch!
I thought that said "Dana Andrews" for a moment. So did I!!!
SWoody, I appreciated your individualized thank yous yesterday.I had fun posting them! They kept me up much later than I should have been up, but they were worth it.
Happy Birthday, newest DR jhvw!!!

That's what happens when one gets one more year of age! :DAnd someday, I will catch up to you!!!
Well, I thought I was having dinner with our DR Jose, but I believe I have been stood up. I guess a trashier offer was more appealing.
Oh, dahling, I don't think that is possible!
BK can you post a copy of the Simply Sondheim and I will put it on the website.
Very close to a deal to make a little CD in the York of New - keep all digits crossed because it would be VERY exciting.
There's a Guy Haines clip???
There's a Guy Haines clip???
Good meeting vibes to Ginny
Take a look at the Simply Sondheim page on the other web site and let me know if there are any problems

Not getting the group pic Michael otherwise it's fine.
Everything looks good for me. :)
Does anyone know if we'll FINALLY get to see Mr Haines' face one day?!?
When BK started the record label with which he is no longer affiliated, they used to have weekly contests on the website. The very first contest (if I remember correctly...IIRC in Internet lingo) was to identify the baby pictures of their recording artists (carry-overs from Varèse Sarabande). One of them was for Guy Haines and his cute little baby face was showing! At the time, I actually did download the picture, but a couple of years ago, my computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING on it...including Guy Haines' baby picture (also, the website has changed so much that it's no longer there, either). :( But at one point, it was available for all the world to see. :D
Francois - Is that another lyric I've misheard on the Thoroughly Modern Millie soundtrack? I thought Julie Andrews was singing "You sure have started something," but "You should have starred in something" seems much better.
But then, count me among those who thought Ms. Andrews was saying "tapioca puh-pudding" when it was really "tapioca for pudding."
And in the Jewish Wedding Song, I also thought she was singing "Be happy, mention Alice" when she was singing "Be happy, menschen allus."
....I guess I thought Alice was the name of the Jewish bride.
....Or a reference to an Alice Blue Gown?
We're very happy - got word today that the wonderful Jessica Skerritt will be in NYC to do our readings of THE LAST STARFIGHTER on Sept. 29-30.
Maybe Alice's Restaurant? ;)

The work day is over.
until the 11 o'clock news interecedes...!
Also, has anyone noticed how few sculptors there are from the modern age that are known by practically all by name? There's Rodin. There's Calder. There's not too many others.
We were out in New Jersey for the evening.
No matter what sign your soon-to-be-ex-fling is, breaking up is never easy. Seasons change, or a new person captures your heart, and suddenly you're in the difficult position of letting someone go. You can make it easier, though, if you communicate in a way the other person can understand, and if you prepare for the reaction you're likely to get.
