Be sure to ask DR Elmore about his grade school (or was it junior high?) lunch lady.

Was that Harriet?  I really cannot remember!

Big Brother spoilers what is going on in the house today.

I am very disappointed that james won the veto. Even more disappoined that janelle was not drawn to play. I would have really liked to see what mike would have done if he had the opportunity to get rid of james or janelle or danielle. Now we will never know. Bummer.

I am headed off to read canoe now. But i saw last night George promised janelle and howie he would not nom them. He was very mad at danielle (which surprised me since i thought they were close).  But i'm sure by now he is not mad at her anymore.  HE is getting a lot of pressure to nominate janelle.  I hope he doesn't. I'm thinking he may not, because he kept him safe all those times.

So, Mr. Moore, you never answered the question. Which female is the basis for Nora from the Nick and Nora series? I didn't know that they were based on real people.

Last night when Sandi (House Committee Co-Chair) and I arrived to do our ticket/cleaning duties....we discovered that two cases of popcorn boxes, a 50 lb bag of popcorn,  and 40 rolls of toilet paper were missing.

My guess is a local soccer or church softball league  person who is performing in SEUSSICAL decided he/she would save some money on supplies.....

Inexplicable to me how it was done....  It is my opinion that the great PCPH TP Snatch of 2006 will remain a mystery forever.

I was happily surprised with chicken george's noms. Very surprised.
But i was disappointed that they did not award janelle anything for winning queen of the prom.

I guess i am stupid. But i thought they might let her compete. What do you guys think would have been fair?

I don't think letting her compete would have been fair. She got a crown and says she's going to sell it on eBay, that's enough

We still have Friday and Saturday open.  We both want to see more shows, we just haven't decided what to see.  JH loves musicals and so do I. I'm still thinking about The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, though.

Why don't you each see something?  You could see JEAN BRODIE and he could see HAIRSPRAY or something else?  No offense, but I'm sure the tour will have a smaller orchestra than Broadway and I have no idea who's playing Edna on tour or on Broadway.

Then you could meet up after, compare notes and make him feel jealous he didn't see what you saw and vice versa!

Lillian Hellman is the answer.  Dashiell Hammett based Nora Charles on his long-term amourette.  Her writing about Hammett in PENTIMENTO or AN UNFINISHED WOMAN (title?) is quite moving and wonderful.

Yes!

Harriet always terrified me, even if she is the mother of my best high school friend and your mother-in-law!  Tell her I send my love.

I had a clean bill-of-health from my surgeon and I am dismissed.  We talked about my dad's health.  He advised me it's not as good as any of us hope, and I'm grateful.  He basically confirmed my suspicions.

BIG BROTHER.

RE: janelle winning queen of the prom.

Yes, but people paid to text their votes for queen. The other categories were all online.

People paid and were told the winner would get an advantage in the hoh comp. If mike boogie can get the power to change the hoh noms. Then why not bend the rules here if the winner was the current hoh.

I think the fact that people paid to vote should have meant that the winner got something. I don't find a crown to be anything.

Even if they let her transfer the power to howie.

On a different note, there's a movie director Greg Araki that has a movie called "Totally F***ed Up" that I've been looking for forever. I saw it once when I was in LA but it was like $40 for a used VHS, and there was no way I was paying that.

Well, if someone want's to give you a belated B-Day present, that DVD is available at AMAZON for $22.99

DR Elmore - My M-i-L still intimidates me somewhat!  I'm curious to hear the outcome of her showdown last night with my sister-in-law over her "official" 90th birthday party.  Keeping my distance, I am.

Glad to hear that your health is improving - you don't need that aggravation right now!

Is it just me?  Or....does anyone else NOT recall their grade school lunch lady?

How could I ever forget! My Grade School Lunch lady was MOM, and lunch was toted to school in a paper bag. In later school years, the Lunch Lady tried to beg-off by providing coin-of-the realm with which to purhase the Cafeteria swill, but I prefered the home-prepared sandwiches, thank-you very much!

der Brucer

Lunch was usually Salami & Tomato on Rye, Liverwurst and Onion on Rye, Tuna Fish Salad on whole wheat, or Egg Salad on white (Lebanon Balogna of Rye was also offered). Speaking of which - I think I'll raid the ice box for some Lebanon Bologna for lunch!

Back from lunch at the Oakland Museum of Art.

A piano/bass combo played the entire time.  Piano entirely too loud, too many notes, too quick a tempo.

Totally put my digestion out of whack.

And....now I have a headache.
