Next, I watched another episode from THE WILD WILD WEST Season 1 set. None of the guest stars had much name recognition, but the chief femme fatale was Bob Crane's real-life wife.

I noticed too late that the movie version of PROOF (which I haven't seen) had started on Starz!, so I set the DVR to record the next showing (tonight at 11 p.m.) So, I'll have that to watch at some point this week.

Turning off the TV, I picked up the next book in my stack of to-read titles: A Scott Berg's KATE REMEMBERED. I read the first couple of chapters and am enjoying its easy style and fond reminiscenes.

I came home to sleep - my head hurts terribly. Boo was howling to get out, so out she is and Callie is out too.  So far no major battles and only a few chases (which is no biggie at all).   I think maybe 3 days and nights totally away from each other without me here may have been a good thing for their relationship

I am really, really hungry.  Normally, I'm not really, really hungry until about four - I may actually have to eat soon.

For now, though, DR Elmore, he's in the best place.  They'll take good care of him.  Do you need any help tomorrow, transportation-wise?

I am all set, DR Ginny!  Thanks for asking.

I had meant to mention that I watched out of curiosity last night the first episode of Showtime's THE BROTHERHOOD, which seems to be their Irish answer to THE SOPRANOS.  I liked it

Is this the wonderful Australian film with Russell Crowe?

Well, the  feline truce seem to be going well. It's about time

I really want to sleep, but I'm almost too tired to sleep and my back is very sore from hauling so much in my backpack...so I'm up, but

RENO 911! had its best episode of the season last night. Paul Rubens dropped by as the primary guest star, and several skits were really laugh-out-loud funny. We had the return of my favorite side character - roller-skating Teddy who refused to serve the police free tacos.

I watched this last night.  I really enjoyed it (and Teddy ;)), also!

No, I should have been more specific. It's the Gwyneth Paltrow-Jake Gallanhaal-Anthony Hopkins movie based on the Tony-winning play.

Now, I'm heading down to clean the dining room and then read a bit more about Miss Hepburn (who would tell people to use the bathroom before they came in to see her).

As only she could!

DR MATTH - the DVD is fine....some tracking problems as the chapters change, but 100% better than what I had.  Thanks.   8)

I kept thinking there was another film with that title!  Duh!  I guess it's because I like the Australian film so much.

I just defrosted my refrigerator.  The gossip seems to be that Con Edison is expecting the city to have a power failure, and I did not want to come back to a dead refrigerator filled with melted ice.  I have to start packing.

Well, I surely enjoyed it. Do you get the HD version of STARZ?

PS Jake Gyllenhaal stars in both Proof and Brokeback Mountain - BB got the first opening (Venice Film Festival) by 3 days, but Proof moved into general release before BB.  I wonder if BB had gotton more exposure, earlier, would Proof had done better at the boc office?

The gossip seems to be that Con Edison is expecting the city to have a power failure,

And the worst may be yet to come:

NY Daily News

Quote
Con Ed had one message for its customers yesterday: Conserve electricity.

"We're anticipating possible record usage Tuesday and Wednesday because we could see record heat, so we're urging people to get in a conservation mode now," Ohlert said. "Turn off any appliances you're not using."

DR Laura - I wish I could have gone to LA next weekend instead of last weekend as well, but I already had plans for Corn Days in my hometown and one really can't mess with Corn Days ;)

Who in their right minds would want to go to L.A. when they can go to Corn Days instead?    :P

It was a regional jet. They were under weight restrictions because of the 100 degree heat.  That was the announced reason.  We were on standby for Frontier for awhile because they had weight restrictions due to heat as well.

That's strange!  It seems like everytime I fly, the airline I am on starts talking about weight restrictions.  I wonder why?

"Corn Days" sounds like a part of a Stephen King Novel!
