Next, I put in one of Disney's True-Life Adventures - the 1959 JUNGLE CAT which was always one of my favorites (though not as celebrated or award-winning as some of the earlier efforts). Got about 50 minutes in, so I'll have to finish it up tomorrow.

"Windrunner" -- a genuinely wonderful story of a boy (Jason Wiles, in his teens) whose life gets disrupted time after time as his mother moves the family from state to state following the father, who gets moved from prison to prison.  The final stop before the father's release is Kanab, Utah, where the boy tries to fit into a school and its athletic program but is thwarted by the influence on the town/school of the prison's warden.  He meets, however, the ghost of Jim Thorpe -- and it's Thorpe who trains the boy to become a man.  Russell Means as Thorpe and Wiles as the boy turn in terrific performances.

I really liked this moive....

Have you ever seen House made of DAwn?

Enjoyed THE CLOSER tonight. Like Brenda Leigh, I wasn't really quite sure who the guilty party was until the proof became definitive. Good acting by all tonight.

FInished the evening with the CSI: MIAMI rerun in HD. The HD transmission was a bit problematic at the beginning tonight. Don't know if it was a network feed problem or a local transmission problem, but for the first three or four minutes, I had to switch to the standard definition band, and then the problem recurred about halfway through the show but thankfully it was during commercials and not during the program itself.

I have never really been to an amusement park. We do have rides and stuff when the county and State fair midways each summer but I have never been much of a rides fan.

however in my younger days, I was addicted to PacMan and Space Invaders.

The kids were fighting so Boo got sent to her room. She's now howling to get out so I think I'll let her.

Are you sure they are not teenagers?

It's a little earlier than usual, but I'm tired tonight, so I'm heading for bed.

Good night!

The recipe came from Paula (I don't remember her last name).  She has a show on one of the cable food channels.

A couple of the tapes are of me performing with a vocal workshop group where we all sang solos, just to perform. :)

Our instructor was Mark Anton, who moved back to California several years ago.  From what I understand, he still comes up here to Washington for some private students!

I've been thinking that I should call him and see how he's doing.  He's a very nice guy and is a wonderful singer and voice teacher.

His partner Pat used to work at the Hollywood Bowl and was there when they filmed "Jerry Herman's Broadway at the Hollywood Bowl."
