Well, you've read the notes, the notes were lovelier than lovely and contained thoughts on dinner, and now it is time for you to post until the lovelier than lovely cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SYMPOIESES!
-
BK, those were wonderful pictures of you and the Partridge Family fans! And the poster of your book covers is really cool!

Good morning, friends.
-
Less than 5 hours of sleep.
-
Not optimal.

.
-
I think my lunch would count if it had peach cobbler in it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Very fun reading about BK's dinner.
-
That poster is amazing. What a thoughtful gift!
-
Definitely not enough sleep. Especially for a Saturday morning.
‘Tis a marathon of auditions that calls.
-
That poster is amazing. What a thoughtful gift!
It sure is!
-
The aggravating thing about the too little sleep is that, had I not awakened at 5:30 instead of 6:30, it would have been a more acceptable amount of sleep. But once awake, for whatever reason, it’s almost impossible to fall back into a nice slumber.
-
And today looks to be a nice (sunny, dry) one, so of course I’ll be inside a rehearsal studio through most of it, dealing with the various and sundry nightmares placed upon the music stand.
I do it for my country.
Yes, that’s it.
-
Actually, rain is indeed expected here later, so never mind that part.
-
Good morning, all!

I'm moving cautiously; around 6:45 this morning, I had a bad fall. I keep forgetting I'm ancient, and when I move too quickly, I lose my balance. This morning I took a swan dive next to my bed and landed hard on my side, Nothing broken, but I have a badly skinned elbow. It took me around 15 minutes to sigure out how to get myself into a position where I could stand.
-
I'm up! My busy day will bne a little less busy because I will be moving slower than I usually do these days.
-
I expect tomorrow to be the day that lays me up like the aftershock of an earthquake. Laundry will most likely be on Monday now.
-
CBS Mornings just had an interview with Caleb Carr, who is suffering from terminal cancer. The piece was primarily about his new book which will be published next week.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great poster, BK.
-
Thanks, Elmore, for news of the Caleb Carr book. I will look for it.
-
I had dreams associated with the book I’m listening to: Anita de Monte Laughs Last. I was working on a retrospective of a dead artist whose spirit kept rewriting my work. Instead of being frustrated, I welcomed the input.

Good health vibes for Larry!

BK, such lovely photos in the Notes!

And that's such an amazingly thoughtful poster they made for you!

George, great to hear that the audience last night was reacting so well!
And most enjoyable posts and photo about the Baileys Vanilla Mint Shake Irish Cream Liqueur!

Sounds like last nights dinner truly was lovely!
-
That was a very thoughtful gift! I hope some of these ladies decide to join us here.

I called sn imaging center seven times to set up an appointment for x-rays. I finally got through (eighth time is the charm?) and made an appointment. But I was also told x-rays don’t need an appointment. Argh!
-
My mom’s homemade noodles will always be my favorite pasta. I don’t have the patience to make it myself.
-
Great notes and photos! What a great gift!
-
I made pasta once in a cooking class. So I bought a pasta maker at a Goodwill. I gave it away after it sat unused for 10 years.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I love rigatoni in a hearty, rustic sauce with sausage, garlic and tomatoes. I love couscous with plenty of butter cooked in. I love macaroni and cheese, even in blue box form. I love pasta puttanesca with extra anchovies and capers. I love homemade chicken noodle soup.
I love all kinds of pasta.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
Ditto.
-
Vibes for our Elmore. I am sorry about your fall but glad it only resulted in a relatively minor injury
-
I've never made homemade pasta
-
But many many many moons ago I briefly dated a guy whose mom made the most heavenly manicotti
-
I fell asleep very early last night and slept right through until nearly 8 am
-
Still lazing around though
-
Other than many amazing pasta dishes Skip has made -
For restaurant dishes - the Penne Gorgonzola at a restaurant that used to called Pietrasanta on 47th Street and 9th Avenue was a real favorite for several years.
-
Do Chinese noodle dishes count for the TOD?
If so, a delicious shout-out to the Chow Fun at Ollie's on 42nd Street near 9th Avenue.

I had a Thai noodle salad the other day that was wonderful.

I've almost finished the new Charleston finale. I think it's better. Also, there's been some interest in another production.

I enjoyed the notes this morning, especially reading about the gathering at Barone’s, the books and request for them to be signed, and the photos.

Extra nice was the gift of the poster.

Finishing Anita de Monte. The opening was good, then the second quarter fell apart. The last half has been much better.

Not very helpful, but it's a post.

Great news about a possible 2nd production, DR elmore. Take care of yourself.
-
TOD: We like lots of Marcella Hazan pasta recipes, including spaghettini with goat cheese, chives and chili; fettuccine with veal sauce; and spaghetti with tuna sauce. She didn't have a recipe for cacio e pepe, though. I finally found a David Kinch recipe that gave me the technique for the right sauce texture as well as taste.

The aftershock of the fall is setting in. I could feel the body - especially the knees and hip joints - settling into a lot of aches and stiffness as I gave the cats their treat. I'm now lying down for the rest of the evening.

Thank you.

Aftershock vibes for DR Elmore. Enjoy a very restful evening.

DR CHAS SMITH did anyone sing Cirirbin?
Former DRJOSE and I kept hoping someone would do so.

I of course love GEE....but my strong favorites of MR BK's to turn into films include - after the KRITZERLAND trilogy - Red Gold and Thrill Ride.

DR singdow the misplaced apostrophe is an abomination.

Just remember, if you find it, it'll be in the last place where you look.
;)
-
I'm home.
-
We had a good audience tonight.
-
Some laughs got stepped on, but that happens when you get laughs where you hadn't gotten them before.
-
What a strange day.
-
Very rainy.
-
Not that I complain about the rain even when it's not in Spain on the plain or the plane.
-
I had the two-item plate from Panda Express - orange chicken and Kung Pao chicken - the latter was too spicy for me. Most Chinese places are not nearly that spicy on that dish and I've had it in the best of LA's Chinese jernts.
-
It was all okay.
-
Later, I made a couple of eggs in tortillas.
-
Those were okay.
-
The owners of that smash burger jernt where I'd had the bad burger, reached out to me and apologized and had figured out the problem - the chef used some new kind of cleaner to clean the grill just before my order - and apparently he didn't get it all off the grill. They offered to refund me but I told them DoorDash already had and they're now very cognizant of the problem and hoped I'll give them another try, which I will.
-
Then I watched a terrific French thriller from France - you know, the kind of paranoid thriller they used to know how to make here. Boîte Noire (Black Box) was the title and everything worked - one might have wished for a slightly different part of the ending (the ending works wonderfully but there's one aspect of it that's very 1970s), but the acting is great. It's about an expert in deciphering black boxes recovered after airplane crashes. I won't say more because it's more fun to just discover the film. It's on Prime. I'd listened to the Philippe Rombi score the other day and it wasn't my favorite, but boy does it work in the movie and now that I've seen it, it works as a listening experience because the musique has context for me now.
-
The I watched the new Francois Ozon film, Mon Crime (The Crime is Mine), advertised as a hilarious farce, based on a very old play that was the source material for not one but two 1930s American screwball movies. I fell asleep for about an hour so I really need to watch it from about forty minutes in to the end. Those first forty minutes are very stylish, gorgeous costumes, some amusing moments, but the farce stuff must have happened while I dozed off. Acting is fine, score by Mr. Rombi is delightful, the period settings are wonderful. Ozon cites Lubitsch, Capra, and Blake Edwards as his influences on this film.
-
Done with my viewing.
-
Listening to Boite Noire.
-

I like Panda's Kung Pao chicken...I usually get it just about every time I go.
-
Of course, it's much better when it's fresh than when it's been sitting around for a while. ::)
-
And then I wrote...
-
I hadn't had the Kung Pao before - I was surprised at the spice level, frankly.
-

Wow. That's great that they followed up and actually found out what happened.
-
Don't know why I'm so logy.
-
Oh, look! It's the Dreaded Page Seven!! :o
-
Whilst I was eating earlier, the thought occurred to me that I do not care for page seven.
-
I'm low key and logy.
-
Oh well, time to write some notes.
-
I hadn't had the Kung Pao before - I was surprised at the spice level, frankly.
I don't mind the spicy level (I've has spicier...not to my liking!), but I always take out the hollow pepper things. Those are too spicy and just have a weird texture. :P

No posts since eleven-fifteen??? George went on vacation? Or is he writing his review?

Worried about Rodzinski.

-

-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.

He has disappeared into the ether.

Hey - page eight.
