Well, you've read the notes, the notes popped Pepcids, and now it is time for you to post until the popping Pecids cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPONDULICKS!
-
And plenty of it!
-
First post after BK.
-
BK, I didn't know that after your meeting, you were willing to walk a whole mile to the male place!
;)
-
Always.
-
Well, today's going to be a day. I signed up (very recently) to audition for the Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia, Washington. They're about a half hour south of Tumwater, and my friend pug is going to direct One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for them next year. They're also going to do Mamma Mia, which I'd like really to be in. But their auditions are for the whole season and I don't like those, so I may chicken out. The possibility of being in some shows again may not win out over the stress and potential embarrassment of totally goobering. We'll see how I feel this evening. ::)
-
And on that note (A#), I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
I am still awake.
-
For some strange reason, I totally spaced over taking my pain pills or my muscle relaxers.
-
I took them now, but I have to wait until they kick in before I can sleep.
-
So, after writhing in bed for the last half hour, I decided to post for a few minutes to take my mind off of the discomfort.
-
Proof that many of my posts are mindless.
-
Today, my friend Betzy is coming over to see the condo.
-
We will go out and grab some lunch together.
-
Betzy was in the production of THE PRODUCERS that Lakewood Playhouse did last month.
-
She played one of the old ladies that Max seduces to get ther money for the show (plus a few other roles). She was incredible! She came close to stealing the entire show from the rest of the cast.
-
One of the reviewers raved on and on about her performance that I am stunned that he didn’t nominate her for Best Supporting Actress. She may still get a nomination for Lakewood’s own awards next month (The Woodies).
-
The woodies were created to compete with Tacoma Little Theatre’s Dickie Awards.
-
I have several Dickies, but I have never gotten a Woodie!
-
At least, not in public.
-
With that, I will say good night.
-
Good morning, all!
-
In 30 minutes I will leave for my lab work for next week's appointment.
-
I believe I read that Schubert died from syphilis. There's been much controversy about his life since the late 1980s, when Maynard Solomon proposed that the romantic image of Schubert as an unattractive unloved and unwed heterosexual was not necessarily accurate, given his interactions with what was believed to be Vienna's gay circle of the 1820s.
-
Schubert's "Trout Quintet" is one of my favorite pieces of music, and I listen to his masses, along with Haydn's and Mozart's, every Sunday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Masked pirates for everyone.
-
I don’t want to wake up today.
-
Vibes on your doctor‘s visit, Elmore. Got one of my own today.

Good morning!
-
Just having a nice cup of coffee to get going
-
Speaking of pirates
-
There has been a rash of so called "porch pirates" around town
-
I really hate that name because it sounds somewhat romantic and fun
-
I prefer the term low down, piece of s*** thieves
-
But I digress
-
We have a large all weather box on our front porch with a sign on top saying "please leave packages this box"
-
Sometimes we find packages in the box, but very often we find the next to the box, on the box, right in the middle of the porch , on the other side of the porch from the box, lying on the path, and on one memorable occasion, just dropped on the lawn inside the fence
-
But I digress
-
Yesterday when I came home for lunch there was a car blocking my driveway with its blinkers on
-
When I pulled up right behind it, it moved slightly up and stopped in front of my house
-
But when I pulled into the drive it took off like a bat out of hell
-
How do bats exit hell?
-
And why are they there in the first place?
-
Are there bad bats that earn eternal punishment?
-
And if it's eternal how do they escape hell?
-
But I digress
-
Back to our story
-
When we left vixmom she had pulled into her driveway while a mysterious car, previously blocking her drive had suddenly driven off very quickly
-
When I walked up to the house I found we had a package delivered that had not been put inside the porch box, keeping it both out of sight and out of weather, but instead, left in the middle f the porch where it could shout to all and sundry, "hey look here, free stuff in a convenient carrying container!"
-
I wonder whether I interrupted a potential porch pirate or just someone who pulled over to take a phone call
-
In any event, he wasn't masked
-
My coffee is nearly done
-
And I must shower and dress
-
And face the day
-
Wishing everyone a very pleasant today
-
May your allergies be gone
-
May your lab results be excellent
-
May your cars be returned repaired at considerably less cost then expected
-
May you be pain free
-
Worry free
-
Happy and fancy free
-
Wait, does fancy free mean free to do what ever you fancy or free of fancies?
-
If you are free of fancies are you forlorn?
-
If you are are free of fannies you are unable to sit
-
Unless you're in England
-
Then it just means you're not a woman
-
But I digress
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vixmom's post reminds me that I haven't sneezed yet this morning, which is a nice thing.
-
Vibes on your doctor‘s visit, Elmore. Got one of my own today.
Good luck to you both.
-

Vibes you don't the rest of the day.
-
Vibes on your doctor‘s visit, Elmore. Got one of my own today.
That's next week. Today was the lab work, and I'm home.
-
DR vixmom, I think you need a porch security camera and your cell phone ready when you pull up to your house and a strange car is blocking your driveway. You might photograph the license number of a gang of thieves.
-
DR Vixmom I don't suppose you were able to get the car license.
We were unable to get the license of the guy who almost hit after attempting to cut us off. The freeway was splitting and we were in the lane to his right but he seemed to not want us to pass him. After he returned to his lane Keith saw him drink from a bottle in a brown bag.
Had we continued on the freeway in the same direction I would have called the police & attempted to get more info on his car.
-
Annabelle's back to her frisky self. Last night she and Stella got bored during the last part of the 1983 BBC miniseries of Mansfield Park and wrestled through the finish. As to Mansfield Park, it's a good adaptation of a novel I've read twice, but - much as I love Miss Austen's work - I have to say she was nodding during this novel, and Fanny Price is the most boring sad sack heroine ever. Thank God that old bitch Aunt Norris keeps stirring the pot and the plot. This time around, I started wondering if Miss Jane was channeling Perrault's Cendrillon, with two evil stepsisters, wicked stepmother-Aunt Norris, a ball, and a prince nearly as much of a sad sack as her Cinderella.

I would say this sounds like a really good idea.

I'm rather good at advising others. I never listen to myself.

Well, today Stella has decided she likes a Dunkin' Donuts French cruller. I tell her she's hyper enough as she is. All three cats are hyper this morning. I'm wondering what they were up to while I was out.
-
That's my #1 favorite donut at Dunkin'. Has been for years.
-
Good morning.
-
I still say "freedom fries."
I think I shall use "masked pirates" also.
-
I am exhausted hearing about your hyper kitties, Elmore. Thank goodness Asha is an old gal.
-
I have learned Toni Morrison had died. I treasure her novels.
-
I haven't had any good masked pirates since my mom passed away....I am too much of a coward to try to make them....
-
Continued car vibes to MR BK.
Being without wheels is SO difficult......
-
I am working on PICNIC blocking and SHREK slides and publicity stories, etc.....so I am not around much.
BUT summer will be over soon and I can enjoy my life of Leisure once more.
On Sunday I have asked for a special meeting of the Executive Board to discuss the behavior of our previous director.....and it has been scheduled.
-
That's my #1 favorite donut at Dunkin'. Has been for years.
Mine, too. It used to be the apple cinnamon. but most NY Dunkins don't carry them.

Page Four.
Happy Birthday, Lucille Ball!

I haven't had any good masked pirates since my mom passed away....I am too much of a coward to try to make them....
Masked pirates is a dish I make very well. It all began when I discovered I preferred to leave potatoes out of my chicken stew and serve it poured over masked pirates.
-
I need to make that again soon.
-
I am exhausted hearing about your hyper kitties, Elmore. Thank goodness Asha is an old gal.

DR Laura I was thnking the same thing about installing a security camera.

Mine, too. It used to be the apple cinnamon. but most NY Dunkins don't carry them.
If it's the apple cider donuts, stores here (Dunkin' and others) only have them in the fall. And not every store or franchise will carry the same special donuts. Another fall one I discovered last year is the maple frosted. Same donut as the vanilla and chocolate frosted, but maple flavored and quite tasty.
-
Insane day. And it’s only half over.
-
But I did learn that the term slush fund came from the sale of rancid pig fat with the proceeds used to purchase the services of ladies of the evening.

:o :D

Tuesday afternoon greetings!
That's my #1 favorite donut at Dunkin'. Has been for years.
Mine, too. It used to be the apple cinnamon. but most NY Dunkins don't carry them.
We're getting a new Dunkin' Donuts here in Middletown, so we'll check it out!
-
I am very much in the slow lane today. Have to go to Chris's house tonight for an AAUW board meeting, but otherwise I'm staying home.
-
But I did learn that the term slush fund came from the sale of rancid pig fat with the proceeds used to purchase the services of ladies of the evening.
Is there a big market for rancid pig fat?
-
Well now I want a donut
-
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending upon how you look at it) there is a Dunkin Donuts a block from home
-
And I just got a whole flyer of DD coupons in the mail
-
My coworkers are quite pleased with the surprise afternoon snack
-

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep and haven't stopped since I got out of bed.

Pretty cool, Jrand!

Campaign Perks have been selected!

Congratulations on launching the campaign. 20%+ so far. Payday is Thursday.

21%!

We can DO this!

Had a haircut. Thinking about food. Too hot to really walk anywhere.
-
26%!!
-
I just saw. Wouldn't it be great if we could at least get to 30%! I think that would trigger us on Indiegogo as a trending thing.
-
It went from 115 F yesterday to the mid-90s today. I spent a lot of time doing yardwork today.
-
Learned a little earlier my friend Bunny died. This was just a few days after learning she was ill.
And tonight is the visitation for Jan. Too many losses.

I might be going to a conference in Chicago in the beginning of November. That would give me time to visit my friends in Kalamazoo.

I am fine with that though if there were I would not be tempted at all. I don't understand why people like their donuts.

I can see why you like the Shrek photo DR Jrand.

Aww John. I am sorry. One loss is hard enough :(

Will you rent a car & drive?

I went to the water Zumba class at our pool today. It was fun. This time I did not swim first, plus the air was warmer, and was comfortable. I also made sure I had a good breakfast this morning. During was portion of the class we use water weights. The woman who organizes the group has two sets and took me a lighter weight set to use. My arms, thanks to my shoulder, are not very strong & it felt good to work them. I might go again on Thursday depending how I feel tomorrow.

I'm so sorry, John. My condolences to you and to her family. :(

29%! Who'll take us to 30?
-
In other news, the car place called and had finished fixing the car - couldn't believe it. How happy was I? And in perfect timing, Marshall Harvey was on his way here to bring me back the mini-hard drive and go for a meal. He took me to the bank, I got cash out for the car, and ten minutes later I was driving to Jerry's Deli.
-
Now, let's get to thirty percent!

YAY!
Vibes you have the car another 10 years without issues.
-
30%!
-
Since I only had a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and side salad (all of about 550 calories), I think perhaps I should have a little sweet since that has been quite a sweet day.
-
30%!
33 1/3 would be nice.
-
That’s wonderful, getting the car back today. There’s nothing quite like that feeling.

I don't know why I can't get to the indiegogo page...I tried the link here and the link in FB. All I get is a blank white page

Vixmom, are you using Internet Explorer? Indiegogo doesn't work with IE. I have to use the Chrome or Firefox browsers. Just a thought.
-
It’s fine for me on Chrome (Windows) and Safari (iPad).
-
I am quite glad to hear they fixed so car so quickly BK. It seems you made the right decision switching mechanics
-
Well, I need to be leaving. I'm off to the audition. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
Until later.
-
My iPad is safari
-
I just tried typing indiegogo into my browser ...still just a white page... this is annoying
-
Wow! 30% AND the "new" car!!
-
Amazing that the car was ready so soon. didn't it take the dealer this long just to diagnose it?
-
Since BK was paying in cash I have to wonder what that wad looked like. I don't think I've even seen that much money in person. Did they ask how you wanted it? 100s?
-
Well, I need to be leaving. I'm off to the audition. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
Until later.
I hope you're happy with whatever turns out.
-
Apparently, lots of people are experiencing Mercury retrograde-like foul-ups, even though MR is supposedly over.
-
Thanks for the Indiegogo reminder.
It works fine on this computer. (safari works for this, as Chas mentioned)
-
I was finally able to get there on my phone
-
32%

32%!

In 8 hours. Let's go for 35%, shall we?
-
I might be going to a conference in Chicago in the beginning of November. That would give me time to visit my friends in Kalamazoo.
Will you rent a car & drive?
We haven't set the details yet. I might take a train.
-
That’s wonderful, getting the car back today. There’s nothing quite like that feeling.
Indeed. That is nice.
-
Just finished Klute. Wow. Really excellent movie. The score really knocked me out.
-
I'm now watching the extras, starting with an interview Jane Fonda gives with Ileana Douglas. When did Jane Fonda become Faye Dunaway? Their processed faces look eerily alike.
It's hilarious. Jane said she didn't think she could do the role, so she tried to the director to cast Faye instead.
-
Someone just took the signed David Cassidy LP for 200 bucks, and yet the percentage is still 36% on my computer. It should be closer to 40% now, no? Can someone check on their computer? I remember this from the last campaign, when it would take a while to update the percentage.
-
Mine says 37%. I don't do percentages, but $200 is 4% of $5,000.
-
Good night, all.
-
New perk up - three signed soundtrack LPs - signed by Richard Rodney Bennett, Hugo Friedhofer, and Fred Karlin and Westworld star Richard Benjamin. Very reasonable, too.
-
47%! Nine-and-a-half hours. Amazing. I know it's a much smaller amount of money, but this is the fastest we've gotten to this kind of percentage, I think. I know Carol Christmas did really well its first day, but I don't think it did THIS well :) Anyone for 50%?
-
Well, I need to be leaving. I'm off to the audition. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
Until later.
Good vibes.
-
48% - only ninety bucks to 50%!
-
I might be going to a conference in Chicago in the beginning of November. That would give me time to visit my friends in Kalamazoo.

You probably don't want a car in Chicago.

-
Well, I need to be leaving. I'm off to the audition. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!

Well...that probably couldn't have gone much worse. ::)
-
Let me start by saying that I felt like I read the monologue well. For the last several days, I've been kind of freaking out a little bit because I don't like these group season auditions...never have. I'm sure a lot of people don't, but I just couldn't get into my head to memorize something, so I decided to read what they had. I forget what it was, but it was set in England and I did a pretty good British accent. I got through that quite easily. :)
-
Then, I went to sing my song. They didn't supply an accompanist, but I thought I had read that people could bring MP3 files to play from, but that wasn't the case. The karaoke version of my song was from YouTube, so they were able to find it and play it from their phone. But it was too low for my voice (I knew that) but singing that loud while that low in my voice was not easy. And then I forgot the lyrics. I was able to start over, although it took a moment for them to find the spot in the song, but I got through it, said my thanks, and then left.
-
Ugg. :P
-
I commiserated at the Burger King in Centralia (the theater is the Evergreen Playhouse (https://evergreenplayhouse.com/) in Centralia, WA, about 20 miles south of Tumwater) with one of their new Impossible Whoppers. It wasn't great (the patty itself was very dry), and really nothing like the Impossible Burger that I had at Well 80, a local one-off restaurant. This was more like a flat veggie burger. The Well 80 Impossible Burger was very good. I'll have to try it at the Tumwater Burger King to see if it's different or just not worth it. :-\
-
And then I came home.
-
Fortunately, now that it's over, I can easily let it all go. My mantra for many years has been, "It'll be what it'll be." If I get asked to come to the call backs next week, that's great. If not...oh, well. It's not the end of the world, at all. :)
-
Well, I need to be leaving. I'm off to the audition. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
Until later.
I hope you're happy with whatever turns out.
Well...see above. ;D
-
Good evening.
-
George, I’m sorry your audition didn’t go as well as you would have liked, but I am sure it was much better than you think.
-
Does pug know you are auditioning? I am sure she will want you at callbacks.
-
Tomorrow, I'm working concessions at a tour of Menopause: The Musical (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/menopause-the-musical-2/).
-
Thursday, I'm ushering for the second performance of the tour of Menopause: The Musical (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/menopause-the-musical/). :)
-
George, I’m sorry your audition didn’t go as well as you would have liked, but I am sure it was much better than you think.
Thanks, Tom.
-
Does pug know you are auditioning? I am sure she will want you at callbacks.
Yes. She was the one who suggested that I audition in the first place. I also chatted with her about the audition earlier this afternoon at my lunch break.
-
Tom, you know Kris and Rich Garrett, don't you?
-
The two shows that I indicated that I was interested in were One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, directed by pug, and Mamma Mia, directed by Rich Garrett. I've known Kris and Rich for years since when they used to work for/act with Capital Playhouse.
-
And now...
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
Tom, you know Kris and Rich Garrett, don't you?
Of course.
-
I was pretty sure that you did.
