Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not brilliantly illuminating in any way, shape, or form, and now it is time for you to post until the brilliantly illuminating cows come home.

Morning all.
That is all.

And the word of the day is: SCHWARMEREI!
Wasn't that one of the actors on Friends?

And oh yes good morning to all

Good morning, all! I went to be around 8:30 last night; I'm sure it's depression over the current turn of events; the the Toyland project over, I'm concerned about meeting my expenses. I've had a couple of calls about arrangements - like converting a holiday album written for about 8 players, or an arrangement I did for an album with 15 players, to a pops symphony orchestra - but the singers want the work for nothing, hear the estimated costs, and run away to figure out how to have it done by someone else at a cheaper rate.
I will stop into Toyland every few days to check on the office, insure there's been no break in or problem that I need to alert the California office about, tote home a few books or other possessions that have been sitting there - once the office is officially closed and I can't get in, I don't want my possessions carted away with the rest of the office contents. The question is what to do with the piano.
So, today is a day at Encores! Yesterday was Joshie's birthday, so I have a gift to wrap for him before I leave. On my way down, I will stop at Citibank and talk to one of the investment bankers about cashing in a part of my IRA: there is no way I can manage the 2010 IRS payment and accountant fees without it. The IRA was never much and since I lost half of it in the 2008 crash, it's not accumulated much since.
More coffee.

I forgot to mention that 25 years ago this week, my reconstruction of Cole Porter's JUBILEE was given its premiere by the New Amsterdam Theatre Company, produced by the late great Bill Tynes. This chilly weather should have reminded me; I remember running around like mad the last weeks of February, delivering and retrieving music from copyists and I remember how damned cold it was!

But, on hand, I have:

On Wednesday, we took my son and his g.f. down to San Antonio to visit The Alamo and the Riverwalk.
Yesterday, we went to the LBJ Library here in Austin, then drove out to the Hill Country to try the barbecue at Salt Lick.
Having fun....

As I mentioned here a week or so ago, Roger Corman is shipping me a box of CHEYENNE WARRIOR DVDs to sell at the upcoming Festival of the West in Scottsdale, AZ.
That's the movie I wrote that stars Kelly Preston, Dan Haggerty, Bo Hopkins and Pato Hoffmann.
If anybody is interested in buying a copy, please contact me.

I'm still here, DR John G, but I got distracted by some paperwork...
Don't you just hate it when that happens? Paper is supposed to remain where it is placed and not go prancing around calling attention to itself. Honestly! If one more batch of paper distracts me...well, I don't know what! Maybe I'll drag out my shredder. That should do the trick!
;)
-
LOL, DR Ron Pulliam! My shredder is right here next to my desk and I certainly should use it more often...
-
Personally, I always forget about the weekly Broadway Radio show. Gentle reminders would help, I'm sure. I think I figured out a way to download it so I can listen to it on the ol' iPod, but I'll need to do a test of that later.

Looking forward to hearing Jose's good news, when the time comes!!

Well, it will be a very busy weekend, so I am not sure I will get to watch any DVDs, but I will try to at least get to whatever might be on my DVR from this week...hopefully there is at least MODERN FAMILY and THE OFFICE...I don't think there was an OUTSOURCED episode this week. We shall see.
CDs however, I have been listening to.
Arun Daga's new CD (I think he was a contestant, or maybe even a winner, on a season of Indian Idol).
A CD of songs from 3 1990s Bollywood movies: AKELE HUM AKELE TUM; FIRST LOVE LETTER; DIL HAI BETAAB. Have never seen nor heard of any of these movies, but the songs are nice.

Went to The Roadhouse Grill for my niece Katie's birthday dinner. Had a Pomegranate martini. It was tasty, but made me not sleep well and also caused me to have several very odd dreams. Not bad dreams particularly, just odd dreams.
-
Yes, DR MBarnum, the first time I met him on Aug. 3, I thought, "Who's this 12-year-old and what's he doing in my room?" After meeting several of his colleagues this week, though, I'm very glad he was the one on call that day.

Off to Kathryn's to pamper myself with some Vera - bye for now!

I had a doctor that I swore was still an Eagle Scout.

I'm in my second Elluminate session of the day, and so I have my headset on. I have discovered that the bird does not like this. In fact, it literally depresses him. Very strange.
-
I understand "headset" and I understand "bird." I don't really understand the rest.
-
DR Ginny, glad to catch up and read that your shoulder pain was not heart related and that you passed your stress test with flying colors! (just to let you know, I made my own false alarm emergency room trip about a year and a half after my heart attack. I think it's part of the "To Do" list.)

Hello, everybody! I have returned from a good day at City Center Encores! with Joshie, who loved his birthday gift, and the mighty Rob Berman. conductor extraordinaire. We all had a slice of Joshie's birthday cake, which was a lemon cake with butter cream frosting and beautful colored frsting swirls from a pastry tube, Joshie's brother Jeremy baked it for him yesterday and it was quiye yummilicious.
After we finished up today's work, I went down to the WHERE'S CHARLEY? rehearsal on 3 to see my beloved Rebecca Luker, who introduced me to a friend of my friend Curtis, Lauren Worsham, who's playing Amy. I spoke to the truly strange Howard McGillin who's always friendly when I'm with someone he knows but looks at me with horror whenever I address him on my own as if he's wondering why I'm not down at the dump shooting rats.
After that I stopped at the bank and cashed in some of my IRA to pay off my 2010 taxes next week.

That was my goal. It was either "at the dump shooting rats" or "fresh off my coal barge."
Howard's a handsome man and I love his voice, but I'm not sure I like him much personally.

San Diego Out! Memphis In!! I'll save almost $1500 going to the seminar in Memphis vs the seminar in San Diego. And it's at a marriott so I can build up even more points to use on a New York vacation. The seminar itself looks similar and I'll be much more comfortable with 400 people vs 3000 people. PLUS it's during Memphis in May and includes a ticket to the World Barbeque contest. Fun!

Remember several years ago when all the talk about The Wedding was Liza and .... umm, somebody?
-
I remember my ask BK question from yesterday.
Did you have access to Harold Rome's recording of Gone With the Wind? If memory serves me there were additional material not found on cast recording.
-
I sent in my registration. I'm waiting for the confirmation that they got it before I make the plane reservation. Hotel room in Memphis booked, hotel room in San Diego cancelled. Letter written to cancel registration for San Diego. This feels right. I never booked the flight to San Diego....it just didn't feel right

Today I found out the state ran out of money for court appointed attorneys so they aren't paying claims either. My state claims are minimal, so that's no biggie to me, but I saw an email from a woman who is going to be financially devastated if she doesn't get some of her claims paid soon. I am so thankful that I was inspired to get into immigration where I get paid by my clients and that although things are tight, I'm getting by without the pain others are experiencing.

Ok, time to go home, maybe order a pizza and get ready for the big game! GO MIDGETTES~! and if some one is offended by our mascot...get over it.

I suspect he had access to the 18 tracks of the British Columbia recording he licensed. I would guess that British Columbia cannot give him access to somethng they don't have on the recording they're licensing.

Shayne, yes, I had access to the Rome-sung version of GWTW - but we couldn't use any of it as our license precludes it.

Worked a lot with the helper and we're all straightened out now - the disaster wasn't too bad - we'd already actually shipped four of the six invoices as those people had written us and we'd seen that they hadn't been sent - the other two are going out today and then, at long last, everything should be on track from here on in and easy to check if something goes astray.

I had the motor car washed, did errands and whatnot, picked up four packages but no important envelope, which will hopefully be here tomorrow. I paid an obscene number of bills and had a sandwich and onion rings for lunch.

That really is great! I was al caught up in your story of the state's payment problems and your friend's email.
I've been on the phone with the record producer of the Herbert recordings; my emails are not getting to her on my regular server, but when I go to Roadrunner's webmail, which I use when I'm away from the apartment. everything's fine. Oy!
BK, next time you're paying an obscene amount of bills, I'm going to sneak a few of mine into the mix.

I'm very proud of this movie.
Pato Hoffmann is a fine actor from Bolivia, who plays the title role in the film.
He played several Native American roles in films (e.g. WILD BILL) back in the 1990s.
He picked up a small, albeit impressive, following from this movie.
Like me, he still gets fan mail from it.

Is it Theodor Uppman singing the role of Dismas on the A CHILD IS BORN CD? I've played the CD so often that I finally lost the jewel case.
-
Evening all! (((((((((DR Elmore))))))))))) Vibes, best wishes and hugs!!!!!!!
-
Hi, DR Danise! Thanks for the hugs and vibes! How's everything?
-
Nothing makes a Friday better than having Danise post at HHW (except elmore selling the property)
-
I discovered that Bright House has a "On Demand" exercise channel and have decided that it's time I get off my lazy butt and do something about all this weight I've gained. I'm noticing more and more health problems and that fall the other week scared me.
I found a 2 mile walking program and while I'm proud to say that I'm able to complete it, I'm so tired afterwards that when I sit down on the couch to catch my breath, I fall asleep. There is no question that I am very out of shape.
I've made my mind up that I'm going to keep it up. 30 minutes is not a long time to work out.

Awwww. Shucks.
-
Hello! It was quite a struggle signing on. It's hard typing on this thing--it's a Xoom pad (like an I pad). Now I'm wondering if I should have waited for the new I pad.

Two miles is a good start, especially if you are doing it in 30 minutes.

DR elmore--I got a laugh out of your Howard McGillin story!

DR elmore--I got a laugh out of your Howard McGillin story!
We know that Brent Barrett would never treat elmore that way!
-
Hi, DR Danise! Thanks for the hugs and vibes! How's everything?
You are so very welcome!
I'm doing pretty good. I no longer have my black eye and the cut is almost healed. My only worry is that the deepest part of the cut has some scar tissue that may turn out to be a problem. We'll have to see how it goes.
Say, does anyone here know someone called Adam Tilly? He asked to friend me on Facebook but I don't think I know him. I looked at his friend list and while it over a hundred, I didn't see anyone I knew. I don't like to friend someone when I'm not sure who they are.

Not if he ever wanted to get any more orchestrations.

Nope. I say don't friend him.

There is also a 1 mile program that only takes 15 minutes but I felt that even though I should start slow, I want a challenge.

Danise, if you click on his name, it should tell you who your friends in common are. If there are none, you can just ignore his request.

LOL!
Speaking of Brent, he's back doing Chicago on Broadway till June and will be Billy Flynn to Cheryl Tiegs's Roxie Hart!

There wasn't one friend in common so I guess I will ignore him. I hate to do that if someone wants to be friends but with all the scary stories about Facebook, I don't think it's worth the chance.

If the friends in common list doesn't show anyone I would send him a message without befriending him. He might think you are someone else (there is a Denise) or he will solve the mystery for you.

You are very lucky. I am sorry to hear about your friend.
Thanks Elmore. I saw the email on a listserv so I don't know her, but I have a feeling there are a number of people I know in the same boat, they just aren't talking about it.
-
A reader of The Tacoma News Tribune wrote a letter to the editor complaining about all of these selfish state workers who are paid over $100,000.00 a year.
I guess because I'm a County worker instead of a State worker, I don't get that kind of pay. I haven't even had a raise in 4 years.
-
San Diego Out! Fun!
Cilla, congrats on the $1500 savings! :D
Thanks George.

Thanks Elmore....just trying to make lemonade...lord knows there are enough lemons around
-
Cilla, I am glad you are going to save $1,500.00, but personally I would rather be in San Diego.
Oh not me! I've always wanted to go to Memphis and this will be a great chance to do it. I want to see the National Civil Rights museum, maybe Graceland, but maybe not, Beale Street and many other places I've heard so much about from friends and family.

I remember when everyone thought that Dan Haggerty was a relative of mine but it's the wrong spelling of my last name.
-
I've never been to Memphis. I like San Diego. I have plans to take Sherlock to the dog beach in nearby Del Mar, but not in June so I'm glad Cilla is going someplace new.

Raise, Hell? Starting in July we are getting a lower.

Maybe he has been invited to the Harry and Kate wedding!
Or maybe William has dumped Kate, and he wants to marry Jose.
:) LOL!

Well, you have to take into account that we will be moving from the 20th floor to the 24th. ;)

I think I've had the test you were talking about DR Ginny. There is nothing to it. Piece of cake. Honest.
-
I am having fun watching the Midgettes play in the state championship game. We are leading by two right now, but if you listened to the tone of the announcers you'd think we were losing. So much hype for the other team....they are number one rated...we aren't rated....
-
I've had an echocardiogram. It's a sonogram. Nothing to it, except for the goo they put on you.
-
And you don't even have to drink a gallon of water beforehand, like you did when you were pregnant.
-
THere's a player on the other team who looks just like Bristol Palin....she just fouled
-
How is our team doing now, Cillaliz?
-
I hate to say it folks but I'm getting really tired. I didn't sit on couch after my walk but it's getting harder and harder to keep my eyes open.
Have a good evening! Talk with Y'all tomorrow.
-
We're behind 13-8 at the end of the first quarter. Quarters only last 8 minutes
-
DRs Laura and Danise - I had an echo while lying flat on my back in cardiac ICU after my stent was placed. It was one of the easier procedures during that ordeal, so I'm not worried about the next one. I posted the video mostly so you all could meet Dr. Jain.
-
with 5:29 left in the 2nd quarter it's now 13-12. The number 1 ranked team hasn't made a basket so far this quarter....
-
It's actually a really physical defensive game. It's fun to watch
-
Well, it's time for rehearsal...the plan is to sing through the entire score and see how it goes.
Pray for Rosemary's Baby!
;)
Until later!

Vibes to all who need them.....
-
G'night!
-
Well....at the 1/2 time buzzer it's 24 for the bad guys and 14 for us......
-
C'mon, Midgettes!
-
'night!
-
Thanks Ginny, sleep well

Is his name pronounced like mine?
-
C'mon, Midgettes!
DITTO!!!
-
With 3:17 left in the third it's Bad guys 25 - Midgettes 20. Bad guys have missed every field goal attempt and have only made free throws for the whole quarter .
-
It's a three point game
-
I came to sign off but with so little time left in this close game I'll return to find out the final score.
-
Ok, now it's a 7 point lead for the bad guys but man, is this a game
-
DR Jane, there's a whole quarter left. Ok, they are only 8 minute quarters, but it still may be awhile.
-
Obviously I read that wrong. I'll have to wait until tomorrow.
'night
-
Ok they are up by 7 at the end of the 3rd quarter. If you want to watch the stats, or check the score, you can go here
http://www.ighsau.org/hoops/2011/livestats/xlive.htm (http://www.ighsau.org/hoops/2011/livestats/xlive.htm)
-
OMG Suddenly it's a two point game....go girls!!!!
-
Oy, this is exhausting.....
-
Come on, Midgettes!
-
Watching an excellent motion picture on Blu and Ray.
-
8 point lead for the bad guys...there's still time, but the have to get their little sophomore butts in gear.
That's the cool thing. Our team has only 1 senior and she's not even a starter. The starters are 4 sophmores and one junior. The other team has girls who have signed at division 1 college teams
-
9 point lead with 1:25 left....not looking good for the midgettes, but thye have done an amazing job holding the number one team in the state to 42 points so far
-
Well, they can't do it now, but I'm really proud of these girls. They have no fear and man they are the definition of confidence
-
Falcons win 46-35 but they had to really fight for it.
Ok, I'm done with basketball for tonight
-
Except to say I'm really proud of and impressed by the girls who played in the game and all the bussess of people who made the 200 mile drive to cheer them on
-
Sorry the Midgettes didn't win. But they had a great season!
-
I remember my ask BK question from yesterday.
Did you have access to Harold Rome's recording of Gone With the Wind? If memory serves me there were additional material not found on cast recording.
I suspect he had access to the 18 tracks of the British Columbia recording he licensed. I would guess that British Columbia cannot give him access to somethng they don't have on the recording they're licensing.
The province from Canada is licensing cds. Anthing to make a buck these days.
I thought it was EMI as well.
It turns out to be Chappell. Who owns that label?
-
Sorry the Midgettes didn't win. But they had a great season!
Oh I don't feel bad. They weren't expected to do anything. They were fabulous.

Tomorrow is our film festival Here's a story about it http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/entertainment/movies/article_d45f9702-2ffb-5104-8ad8-21c8f91ec8b9.html (http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/entertainment/movies/article_d45f9702-2ffb-5104-8ad8-21c8f91ec8b9.html)
It's not the story I was quoted in, but is the story about the Hailee Steinfeld movie
-
Here's the article that quoted me. http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/weekender/arts/article_5c4c4322-a433-5638-9ad3-d2be572e9edf.html (http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/weekender/arts/article_5c4c4322-a433-5638-9ad3-d2be572e9edf.html)
-
Ok, time to call it a night. Tomorrow is going to be a long day
-
Good Evening!
I'm up, I'm up... And... Well...
-
It was another good day of auditions. The first two groups of the day were quite talented. I actually had fun(!) playing for most of them. Good song choices and great voices. I like when that happens.
-
Alas, the audition day ended with a young woman losing her footing during the dance callbacks. She's fine, apparently, and, luckily, her family lives in Marietta. But she took quite a hard fall, and it looks like she may have broken her wrist as well as dislocated her jaw. -And she also went into mild shock too. Needless to say, it unsettled everyone for a bit, but, again, she seems to be doing fine, and she has plenty of friends and family keeping her company at the hospital.
-
I got back a little while ago from having dinner with DR edisaurus and her ever-lovin' Greg. We went to JCT Kitchen (http://jctkitchen.com/). It's one of those "noisy" restaurants, however, the food was quite good. Very good. -And it had to be one of the most delicious - and richest(!) - meals I've had in a long time. Bacon and bacon fat figures prominently on their menu.
I'll be eating granola and salad tomorrow. ;)
-
Oh...
I would have logged on during lunch, but I forgot that the Pro-Div meeting was today. -It was a good meeting.
-
And now...
Since I have to start playing again in eight and a half hours...
I hope everyone is doing well, and had at least two things that made them smile today. :)
Goodnight.
-
Jose, I had chicken and waffles at a soul food place today. And fried okra. Very not like me.
-
Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles - after I lose fifteen pounds, I'm doing a splurge meal there.
-
hI spoke to the truly strange Howard McGillin who's always friendly when I'm with someone he knows but looks at me with horror whenever I address him on my own as if he's wondering why I'm not down at the dump shooting rats.
I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at this.
That was my goal. It was either "at the dump shooting rats" or "fresh off my coal barge."
Howard's a handsome man and I love his voice, but I'm not sure I like him much personally.
Anybody who has played the Phantom that long has to be strange.

Love chicken and waffles. You should not be yourself more often.

I would've, but he wasn't there tonight. I think he'll be at our next rehearsal on Sunday.
