Well, you've read the notes, the notes have read you, the notes and you are on the same plane or perhaps the same plain, and now it is time for you to post until the changing cows come home.

If I weigh in, too, on Parade, will I be accused of Brown-bashing?

Parade is precisely the kind of show that sounds great on record but bores you to tears when you see it.  It's based on a true story, and yet, outside of the Franks, none of the characters ring true.  They're a bunch of illiterate bigots like you've seen in countless depictions of the bad ol' south for so many years.  I've heard of the Anti-Defamation League, which fights against negative portrayals of Jewish people.  Here, you just want to join some similar League that's against defamation of Southerners.  "All the Wasted Time" is a soaring ballad, but it comes way too late in the second act.  By that point, Brown and book-writer Alfred Uhry have long out-worn their welcome, making the same point again and again: them bigots iz dumb!

Panni, if I may re-ask: What font and font size do you use on your scripts?

Best well-wishes to WEL on his natal day

The worst part of my Labor Day was shopping at Macy's - that's why bridal registries came up.  I'm a groom-side relative and we purchased a gift this groom can't possibly get any enjoyment out of.

Panni, if I may re-ask: What font and font size do you use on your scripts?

I use FINAL DRAFT - not Word - for my scripts. The default font, which is what I use, is Courier Final Draft and the size is 12.
That's probably not of much use to you.

One classic favorite line from SOME LIKE IT HOT...
"Well, nobody's perfect."

Another, from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY...
"I'll have what she's having."

A few more...

"Major Strasser has been shot. Round up the usual suspects." (CASABLANCA)

"Fasten your seat-belts. It's going to be a bumpy night." (ALL ABOUT EVE)

More tomorrow (today).

Good Evening! Good Morning!

The only line that comes to my mind right now is from "Waiting for Guffman":

"You... you... Ass-face!"

Gotta love that Corky!

*And there were actually some pretty good one-liners in "Garden State" too.  But they elude my sleepy head right now, so...

But before I go....

Speaking of small change... SMALL CHANGE is such a wonderful movie. I wonder what films Truffaut would have made had he not died so (relatively) young.

Hmmm.. The classical station is currently featuring the music of Bela Bartok this hour.  Now, don't get me wrong, I like the music of Bartok, but it's not exactly music to go-to-bed-by.... Hmmm... In any case...

Goodnight.

Beckon don’t be sorry.  You answered the question honestly.  Thank you for sharing.

SWW I stay away from dairy products when I have a cold.  I think soup and watermelon is better for a cold.

Jose, I agree it is very annoying on the escalator when people don’t stay to the right and let me pass on the left.  I will have to check out your escalator theory in L.A.  I can’t recall it is more of a problem there than anywhere else.

Bruce, I love that line from the Court Jester.  Then of course there is “I've got it! I've got it! The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true! Right?”

My two favorites from Casablanca:
“Here's looking at you, kid.”
“Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

Now Bogie and I (he followed me out of bed) are going back to bed and see if I can fall asleep this time.

There's a song from Scrambled Feet, "The Theatre-Party Ladies," where three women (played by the men) go to a show.  Anyway, I don't remember the exact scenario of the skit, but one of them says "How rude!" and I use that all the time.  Same inflection and in approximately the same character voice.  No one, of course, knows that it's a quote from a show.  It's my own little private joke with myself.

I think it might help.....if you have posted photos and still have them on your hard drive....delete them from your hard drive then they will show up as red x's in the notes but since they won't be there, the space is now open to be used for other photos.  Anyway, that is what I do.

Hmmmmmmmm.....movie lines....so many, but here are a few to start:

Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, the end, when Nancy is lying on the ground electrocuted with her husband in her hand:
"She finally got Harry....all to herself!"

Can't remember the character's name in 5th of July, when the man trips and falls over she says:  "Oh I didn't understand, when you said he had a wooden leg, I thought you meant he could drink a lot!"

In Back Street, when Susan Hayward says: "Everyone is laughing at us, other people's love affairs are always funny....but all the old cliches are true...you can't break the rules....."  And from the same movie, Vera Miles at the fashion show: "You've all wondered who the other woman in my husband's life is....send it [a wedding dress] to MISS rae Smith, in care of my husband."

Hehehehehe....

DRNOEL - nothing smaller than 12 point and Courier is a good easy to read font.  Nothing ALL CAPS or SCRIPT or BOLD....difficult to read.

Good morning one and all. I have returned from the heartland with clogged arteries (I'm sure) and relaxed and happy. A bit melancholy that I have to return to work (my usual morning posting place) but thems the breaks.

I have lots to ketchup on (28 posts so early!) between work and HHW. I barely touched a computer the entire time we were gone. It was quite relaxing.

Soon I will have pictures from venues such as the State Fair (Deep Fried Milky Ways - as I said, artery clogging) and other places. We didn't take as many pictures this trip as we usually do but I will post nonetheless.

That's it for now, but before I go...(to quote someone who also says "laters")
