Meanwhile, in Ken Russell's WOMEN IN LOVE:
Ursula:  "You can't have two kinds of love, why should you?"
Rupert:  "It seems as if I can't, yet, I wanted it."
Ursula:  "You can't have it because it's impossible."
Long Pause
Rupert:  "I don't believe that."

One of the great closing lines in ANY film.

It has rained here all day today, and we're expecting another bout of rain a little after midnight tonight - 6" of rain are predicted by tomorrow morning. The ground is already saturated and everyone is now fearing trees may come tumbling down if the wind kicks up with any force (we've got 20 mph winds at present.)

A scary time for us in this neck of the woods right now.

Looking over the Daily Discussions for the past few days I realized I'd missed my own birthday, and all those colorful HHW birthday wishes.  That's what I get for being so EAT!  While I'm here I'd like to add my best wishes for WEL's B-day and, re today's topic, to share a couple of favorites.

George Hamilton in "Zorro, the Gay Blade":

"Spread the news that he is back!  To help the helpless!  To befriend the friendless!  And to defeat . . . the defeatless!  El Zorro rrrrrides again!"

And from "The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother":

MARTY FELDMAN: Are you Mister S., for Sigerson, Holmes?
GENE WILDER: Perhaps.
FELDMAN: Do you have a brother whose first name is Sherlock?
WILDER: I do NOT.
FELDMAN: You DO have a brother . . .
WILDER: I do.
FELDMAN: Might I inquire as to his first name?
WILDER: SHEER LUCK!
FELDMAN: . . . I see.  Uh, well, your brother Sheerluck sent me around with an urgent request and this five pound note.  Are you at all interested?

I want something salty -- peanuts, popcorn... Nothing at home and I don't feel like going out. Oh well.

No posts in over an hour?  Skammen.  You'd think it was bedtime or something.  I'm relaxing and watching a motion picture on DVD, and will now write tomorrow's notes.

Lately the hour between 10 and 11 is lost to me. If I try watching something, I fall asleep. Which is what just happened. Now I'm quite awake again.
I've now figured out that I have to wear a baseball cap going outside this time of night or early in the morning. That way, no spider webs in my hair. I just came back in from taking wonderdog out - wearing my trusty cap (me - not dog) and all is well hairwise.

It's OK to be on the web but not for the web to be on you.

I have been waging war on cobwebs myself today - big clean up of the house before leaving next week. It's amazing how spiderwebs don't grab my attention until visitors arrive or I turn on lights not usually used and get those shadows!

Thank you TCB. At least I did the photography if not the garden.
