Well, we didn't get the curtains hung by midnight, but we are drinking champagne and watching Dick Clark in Times Square.

Last year, we were working on the house at this time, not being able to imagine ever living here. Now we're cosily ensconced and it feels like home!

We had fireworks here too. Someone was lighting them in the empty lot across the street. They looked pretty cool out of Steve's window and skylight. However, they were a bit close for comfort since we think we heard a couple of the shell(?) fragments fall on the roof - which is basically Steve's ceiling.

And we're also hearing all the people who were up on the roof walking down the stairs now - which are next to Steve's apartment. Well, most of them seem to be running and/or stomping down the stairs. $:-\$

Maybe they are on fire from the fireworks hitting them while standing on the roof

Happy New Year east coasters! DR Jose, I almost sent you a text msg, but I thought you wouldn't recognize the name

DP and I just finished a fantastic rib-eye steak dinner with chard and steak fries. DP Eric grilled some fantastic steaks. We're contemplating a cocktail soon, something with a champagne base.

We are in the middle of an "Are You Being Served" marathon, as the DP got the entire series on DVD from me for Christmas. Good times.
