Just stubbed my little toe and it is the same one I broke a number of years ago... Man, it hurts....

I just sneezed and got a wad of mucous on my palm.

Can you describe it to us?  The color? The viscosity? The placement on your palm?

Although, I guess you could also just take a picture of it with your new camera.

May you have views like that from every window!

I can only see that view from my balcony...and then I have to look to my left a bit.  Can't see much of it from the door.

;D

It was dispensed with rather quickly.  If I had to describe it, I'd have to say it was more your viscous, slightly tinted green variety of mucous...with perhaps a rubber-cement-out-of-the-bottle consistency.  I grabbed a tissue and cleaned it up  immediately.  And  then I disposed of tissue in bathroom trash and washed my hands.

I knew a kid once who ate everything he could pull out of his nose.

2007, from late June until September 27, I achieved my dream of spending every day writing.  Specifically, re-writing Such Good Friends; making a myriad of improvements under the intelligent guidance of a brilliant Boy Wonder director.  The final three weeks of that period involved generous contributions from ten actors who cared about telling the story in the most entertaining way possible.  Cut their lines?  OK by them, because no one was in it for "me" - everyone was in it for "us."

What I LOVED more than anything was the daily improvement of the show.  We were doing this to entertain an audience, and the actual NYMF run, September 28-October  6 was the pay-off to a truly communal effort.  No musical that premiered in 2007 got better notices and awards, but all of this is icing on the cake.

(I hasten to point out that the sci-fi musicals by others who post here premiered in other years - no comparison is implied)

Taking time off from the rewriting efforts to check in with the merry denizens of HHW was fun for me, and I hope you enjoyed the updates.  I know several of you enjoyed the show, and I'm very grateful you took the time to attend.

I agree with everything BK had to say about Sweeney Todd.  Joy's calling; gotta run.

I have a memory of Hoppin' John when I attended a party many years ago at actress Lee Purcell's house.  My memory is that not only did you have to put a big spoonfull in your big mouth, you then had to hop around a table - am I remembering right?  What is the exact recipe and the exact procedure?

I'll probably write another half-page before the day is done, and I'm sure I'll futz with what I've written as I do with all the beginnings of my books, but it was nice to get it going.  I've been thinking about it for the last four months and have been chomping at the bit to begin.  In fact, I rewrote the first three paragraphs incessantly before moving on.  I think they're okay now.

I was stopping by on my way to my email.  i am now all caught up and I'm heading off to our DR FJL's New Year's Day festivities.  I spent some time on Toyland thoughts, and I began my 2007 IRS prep, which included an email to the estate's attorney and collectng records from my bank.

DEMSELLES (or however you spell it) is one of my favorite filmusicals too.  In fact the trilogy with it, LES PARAPLUIES DE CHERBOURG and PEU D'ANNE rank second among post 60s musicals after THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL.  Glad it got a nice mention here.

The new issue of CLASSIC IMAGES features a nice interview with a former child star who was a former
Hainsie-Kimlet.  The only problem is that she promised me I could do it several years ago and after I got permission from the editor she changed her mind.

Happy 2008 from current reader and infrequent poster William E. Lurie.

Noel, you were very blessed to have a NYMF experience where "no one was in it for 'me' - everyone was in it for 'us.'"  Congrats on that and for the good things that have come to you.

Hello, again. Well, it's been a busy day. Marvelous Matt found a giant hole in the attic wall where some siding had fallen off and fixed it. He, too, thinks it was a squirrel (other possibilities are even worse to think about). And said squirrel had NOT, thankfully, taken up residence in said attic--apparently he only came in for the occasional visit--so no need to trap him, etc. I'm hoping that this solves the problem, ie no other holes we aren't aware of, etc.
