Hi Guys! The Vixter's project took oiver the computer again yesterday - sjhe sends her love and tahnaks especially to Jane and DS for their suggestions. Her poster is all done, and she has written the first draft (6 pages) of her paper. (The assignemtn is you must choose an actor who you think would be perfect to play the part of the character, explain why and choose a scenec from the book for them to audition for the part (and explain why)
-
Today I told her to take a break today. So she is meeting with her 3 bestt friends after school at my Mom's and I am treating them to pizza. After work I will be collecting them all from my mom's house and taking them to see TWILIGHT (bought the tickets 2 days ago!)
-
I meet with the Radiation Doctor in 40 minutes to find out what the PET scan showed and what he has planned for my holiday season
-
I am going to take a quick look at yesterday (I have not caught UP) and then be off!
VIBES to all what needs 'em - especially TCB, Tomovoz and Elmore!!!

And the word of the day is: EPITHALAMION!
And The Song Of The Day Is: SUNRISE,SUNSET
maybe something a little more upbeat? How about L'Chiaim!
(I am sure I mispelled that one!)

Greetings, Vix.
I have a meeting at 10am.
I am now going to get some coffee
-
Good morning, all! DRvixmom, your typos make mine look so good I love you! I hope you have a fantastic day and the young ladies have a great time at the movies. I look forward to seeing something next week with my goddaughter Charlotte, but I have no idea what it will be.
BK, I look forward to seeing you, but I'm tentative about dnner on Sunday because I have an orchestra parts deadline for Monday.
Last night I was so tired that I passed out about 10:15 and missed the rest of LIFE ON MARS. Did anyone DVR it?
This morning, more work on Loesser, then a walk to Lincoln Center and the NYPL followed by physical therapy, and back to work here.
TOD:

Friday morning greetings! Today's an information waitressing day, but I get to leave at 4pm to join Richard for a drive to Merrillville, Indiana, for a full day of church business tomorrow.
DR Vixmom - I love your positive attitude - may it serve you well!

Good morning. That is all.

Love the chart Sing. I'm hoping the ice caps start melting some time in my life time. I guess 4 years of marriage in Massachusetts and civil unions in other northeast states isn't enough to begin the defrosting. We need something big ;D

I have a frozen 17-pound turkey. If I move it in the fridge on Sunday, is that enough time?
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And the radiator in my bedroom is hiss, hiss, hissing away. -Which is why I'm up. :-\ But since I am working today anyway, well...
*I did call my landlord about the hissing while the hissing was going on. They had actually replaced the valve last year, and it does its job. However, it does quite loudly. So, when I called my landlord this morning..."Good morning... Remember when they replaced the radiator valve last year? Do you hear that noise in the background?...." -She promptly replied, "I will call the company right now." Thank you!
-

Yes.

DR Laura - But you could also check the newly revamped and revised www.Butterball.com for the answer to that and other Thanksgiving Turkey related questions. ;)
-
DR vixmom - It does indeed sound like the vixter could use a break. -And make sure to get in line early for the movie. -They had a midnight showing at the AMC in Times Square last night. People started camping out two days before!

Good Morning, Guys and Gals!
-
As for the Friday Media Check... It was a good week for my CD/iTunes/iPod...
Jean-Efflam Bavouzet - "Debussy: Complete Works for Piano, Vol. 4" - This is the fourth and final installment in Bavouzet's Debussy series, and it was well worth the wait. *Although, he has mentioned that he will be recording a bonus disc of the duets and transcriptions for the boxed-set edition which will be coming out next year. That extra disc better be available outside of the box too. ;)
Beyoncé - "I Am... Sasha Fierce!"
David Archuleta - "David Archuleta"
David Cook - "David Cook"
Tracy Chapman - "Our Bright Future"
Raphael Saadiq - "The Way I See It" - I am soooo digging his "Downtown Sound"
Patti LuPone - "...At Les Mouches"
Howard Ashman - "Howard Sings Ashman"
Nicole Henry - "The Nearness of You" - Her rendition of "Over the Rainbow" done as a Latin uptempo is just so happy!
Nicole Henry - "The Very Thought Of You"
3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down - OCR
Richard Goode - "Mozart (Sonatas and Other Piano Works)"
-
Good Morning, DR Kerry!

OH! This might be of interesting to a couple of DRs...
Today's Amazon.com Gold Box Deal of the Day is the Complete "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" Collector's Set... For only $69.99(!!!).
Get it while it's hot! -Or at least still in stock.

Can i just say that ABC sucks. Not happy that they cancelled PUSHING DAISIES. But really not happy that they cancelled one of my absolute favorites ELI STONE. That show is fantastic. :(

TOD:
Among other things I'm playing, "Lime Jell-O" by Joan Morris and since she does "The Boston Beguine," I had to hear Alice Ghostley's original version too.

I cannot wait. You'll have to post if the Vixter and her friends like the movie.

Good morning!
Cold again; back in the 40s for highs. May get a little warmer tomorrow but this deep freeze looks set for awhile.
-
Sorry I can't help you with LIFE ON MARS, DR Elmore. Due to so many shows being crammed on Thursday night, I have to watch GREY'S and MARS "live." (That means I either suffer through commercials or get up and do something else while they're on.)
-
The lack of enthusiasm for ELI STONE is really perplexing. It's such a different approach to a humanistic comedy-drama (with occasional musical numbers; I loved Victor Garber's last big song and dance sequence!), and it always leaves me feeling better, smiling through tears.

DR Laura - at butterball.com, just go to "Tips and How-tos" and then "Thaw."
Their rule of thumb is one day of refrigerator thawing for every 4 pounds.
Then get confirmation and insights from DRs Jose and Woody ;)

Listening to Bernard Herrmann's A CHRISTMAS CAROL will immediately put you into the freakinest Merry Christmas mood ever! I've listened twice so far and I'm this close to putting up my Christmas Tree and baking gingerbread cookies.
Hopefully, I can hold out until next weekend, which is when I traditionally start my Christmas season.

Perhaps someone else can, DR MattH, otherwise, next week I'll ask you for a summary of what I missed. I love the show so I guess I can always wait for the DVD release (if there is one!). It's seems a show that's totally based, though, on being aware of each prvious episode's events.
Off to NYPL!

I'm not sure what I'm going to watch on DVD this weeked. I've got a lot of box sets that have 1-2 titles left to watch before I can start packing them into boxes in preparation of our move to Austin.
Among the possibiliies:
BUCHANAN RIDES ALONE from the Budd Boetticher set
VIRGINIA CITY from the Errol Flynn Westerns set
CIMARRON from the Warner Classic Western Set
LARCENY, INC. & THE AMAZING DR. CLITTERHOUSE from the Warner Gangster Set #4
On the other hand, who knows what might arrive via UPS or Fed-Ex today?

I've caught up on yesterday's posts.
DR Cillaliz, re: your joy over the word "piffles".
There were comic book characters called Mary Jane and Sniffles (http://www.toonopedia.com/search.htm?searchVar=Warner+Bros.). Mary Jane had a spell she could cast to shrink herself to the size of Sniffles, a mouse who lived in her house, and off they would go on adventures.
"Magic words of poof poof piffles,
make me just as small as sniffles!"
I think DR Laura should try a version of that in order to play with the no-longer-feral kitty:
"Magic words of ding dong derry,
make me just as small as Perri!"
:D

Re: "Grey's Anatomy"
I, too, found the show both fascinating, gruesome and a bit tedious. Not knowing what the whole Izzy thing is about is very irritating. If this show is trying to be a bit "fantasy", it's a wrong move, IMO. The interns sewing on each other, and then cutting into one of their own, was just wrong in every conceivable way. I'm guessing there is something real-life-inspired about it, but it wasn't pretty. Doctor Bailey pleases me every time she is on the screen. I liked Alex's commitment to Izzy, though, and I hope -- if they're not easing Izzy out of the show -- that they honor that.

Can't get a full connection to AOL - so annoying. Yes, I could restart the computer and it would be fine, but I'm so bored of having to do this because AOL is so lame. So, I went to aol.com and retrieved my e-mail. It took me a few minutes to get used to that look and where things were, but I responded to all e-mails, and everything was fine. Which means, when I get back from NY I may just be through with AOL and just keep the free e-mail feature.

BK - Yes, we're still planning an HHW get-together for the evening of Tuesday, December 2!!!
Haven't chosen a restaurant yet, but I've promised that it'll be someplace reasonable cost-wise.
-
Speaking of energy, I had better find some & take Sherlock for a walk. I think I will stay in the neighborhood since I'm soooo sleepy, plus I have a haircut appointment later today.
-
Back from the long jog - a little more brisk than usual and shaved five minutes off the run time.
-
Now I must shower and then be on my way to morning meeting at Hugo's. I have no idea what to expect, but I'll enjoy my poached eggs and English muffin.

FYI, this movie TWILIGHT, that has just opened, was filmed here in Oregon.

I shall now be on my way to Hugo's, after which I shall return.

Howdy, m'dears...
Long time, no chat. I have been laboriously (yup, I mean it) re-locating my cousin Tina from Winnemucca NV to assisted living in Tarzana. That accomplished a scant 2 weeks ago, I've been shlepping her to doctors and labs and more doctors - today we go back, yet again, for the promised RESULTS.
I have been 'IT' for this round... Tina's own brother has been - let's call it E & T - but completely absent for 11-count 'em-11-plus years... My own brother and sisters have had their share of tsuris - so Penny has been the caretaker/hauler/packer/mover/chiefcookandbottlewasher/Guardian Angel of this poor critter... Tina is the only daughter of my dad's brother, Uncle Morey - with whom BK's own dad owned a restaurant, back in the day - a fabulous old timey Steak House - the KiRu... anyway, Tina was born 3 months early, and is what we shall euphemistically refer to as 'developmentally disabled'... we're talkin' the IQ of a turnip. But at least she has a miserable temper. Oy.
Anyway, welcome back to haineshisway, little Pen...

Wow, DR PennyO, that's quite a load to bear!
Welcome back! :)
-
Ran across this part of a blurb about a hard-to-find Manhattan restaurant (Convivo) and didn't know where else to post it:
"the pickled watermelon rind and crunchy fennel seeds that come with the testa, a pig’s-head terrine (the inevitable remark: “That’s good head”), and the pickled onions and thin slices of hard-boiled egg that come with the lingua, a rosary of veal tongues. (A minority opinion: “It needs more acid.”) The pastas, which are homemade, are distinct and astonishing. Taste aside, the textural refinement of the saffron gnocchetti, with flecks of crab and sea urchin, and of the tortelli—filled but not stuffed with ricotta and guanciale and floating in a Pecorino sauce"
That's for those of you who might be wondering what BK might be eating while he's here in New York

Back from a surprisingly delightful breakfast. This gal is a film composer from Germany who was just trying to meet as many interesting people as she could during her three month stay here - she's very sweet and fun and we had a great time.

Boy, Noel AND Penny-O, together again, back on the same day.

Jose, just got the e-mail notification of the updates and am about to do them.

I'm waiting for my Barbara Cook CD to arrive - at least it is on its way!

Good things are on their way to all, I think.

I think I'm downloading this new update - it says that it is but there's no task bar and nothing seems to be happening.

On TV Tonight!
CBS - GHOST WHISPERER, THE MENTALIST (rerun), NUMB3RS
NBC - DEAL OR NO DEAL, CRUSOE, LIPSTICK JUNGLE
ABC - reality shows, 20/20
About 5 minutes into the last episode of CRUSOE Keith said he didn't want to watch anymore. I said ok & he deleted the series.
How is NUMB3RS doing? I got tired of watching it alone.
So far we are sticking with THE MENTALIST.
NUMB3RS is doing fine. THE MENTALIST is the biggest new show hit of the season.
-
Honestly, it felt colder at noon running my errands than it did at 8 a.m. this morning going out to get the newspaper. The difference was a VERY cold wind blowing that just tore through my clothes right to the skin. Brrrrr!!
-
Wish Jose was here to tell me this is normal.
HA! You used "Jose" and "normal" in the same sentence. :)
-
I watched THE OFFICE while I ate lunch. OK episode, glad to have Toby back, and Michael's aggravation with him is always hilarious especially since Toby is so innocuous.
-
I also watched 30 ROCK. About half of it wasn't very funny at all (Steve Martin was the guest stars), but then it kicked into gear and I was really laughing.
-
Then I went to work on my work project of the day: the DVD of Comedy Central's THE BEST OF DR. KATZ, PROFESSIONAL THERAPIST. It's almost two hours of snippets from the three-year run of the series with celebrities improvising on the doctor's couch. Very hit and miss. My favorites were Kathy Griffin, Conan O'Brien, Denis Leary, David Cross, Brian Regan, and Margaret Cho. Some others were really terrible.
So, the disc was very hit-and-miss. But anyway, it's behind me and I'll have the rest of the day and evening free to watch something fun.
-
Then, I put back on IMITATION OF LIFE which I had started yesterday. Always a good tearful wallow in Ross Hunter/Douglas Sirk melodramatics.
-
I'll likely watch ROBIN HOOD on Blu-ray tonight. Can't wait to see my first Academy ratio film in high definition.
-
In the mail today was the first Blu-ray Criterion disc: CHUNGKING EXPRESS. I just watched the DVD of this last week, so I'll put off watching this for a few days and watch some other things. WHITE DOG is on tap for tomorrow.
-
Wish Jose was here to tell me this is normal.
Did you follow the directions in the e-mail? Did you open iTunes? Did you click on "Check for Updates"? -If you click on "Downloads" on the left-hand side of the iTunes window, you should see the status bar.
-
Wish Jose was here to tell me this is normal.
HA! You used "Jose" and "normal" in the same sentence. :)
Well, at least it wasn't preceded by "not" or "ab-".
-
Good Afternoon!
...Or I could just head back home since I realized I had not properly dressed for a walk in the cold weather. No gloves, no hat, no walk. ;)

Actually, I think the restaurant in question is "Convivio". -And it is right by bk's hotel.

Topic of the Day: in my CD player is "Linda Eder: The Big Band Years." Never heard of it? Of course not! It's a compilation CD that I made of songs of hers that have big-band-like arrangements...to me. It has 16 tracks and I made it several years ago. I love these songs!
After that is "Reefer Madness," the Showtime soundtrack/L.A. cast recording 2-fer reissue.
-
I've just being showing DP Colin DR JoJo's photographs on facebook.
-
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE LINDA EDER IN CONCERT TONIGHT!! ;D ;D ;D

Update is complete. I ended up contacting Apple about a couple of things I wasn't understanding. Thing one was when I plug the phone into the computer it used to open iTunes, but now opens iPhoto first - she said that's normal. I said when I closed iPhoto I had to open iTunes manually. She said if I don't close iPhoto by using the "x" but click "okay" then that should shut down iPhoto and open iTunes, so next time I'll try that. I also had a setting checked wrong, so we fixed that. And then when I'd wake the phone up it would never go to the home screen, but to various other screens, like my contacts, or AOL mail or whatever. She was baffled by that, but I went into applications and found where something was clicked wrong, so I fixed that.
-
Haven't looked at much of the new software things, but I did do the new, improved google street view - I have my home address in there - and it finds you on the map - that part is the way it's always worked, but if you click on a little icon on the left it actually shows you your house and the street and my car and everything. That is way too cool. When I'm in NY, I'm going to quiz Jose on other things about the phone, so I understand exactly how certain things that are currently a little confusing to me work.
-
No gloves, no hat, no walk.
Very sensible. As DR Matt H. said, it's cold out!!!
-
DR Matth, how is LIFE ON MARS doing in the ratings? I understand it is moving to Wednesday nights.
-
DR Matth, how is LIFE ON MARS doing in the ratings? I understand it is moving to Wednesday nights.
It began very solidly but soon began losing audience to its rivals on the other two networks. The move to Wednesday nights after LOST will be its best hope to secure for itself a second season. LOST should be a more compatible lead-in than GREY'S ANATOMY. Of course, its competition on Wednesday at 10 is also formidable: CSI: NY and LAW & ORDER.
-
I guess I'll head downstairs now and be off to Sherwood Forest.
WBBL.

Be sure to download/update the general Google app. The new voice-search is really cool.
As for whether iTunes or iPhoto opens when you connect your iPhone, well... There are checkboxes in each program to turn that option off or on. I have it set "off" for both, so that I can just recharge my iPhone instead of dealing with iTunes or iPhoto.
*A friend of mine used the new Google Street View to see his house... It turned out he was standing in front of his house when the cached image was taken! He can see himself!

I gotta tell you. No mail today - and that includes two way overdue packages - obviously if they don't arrive tomorrow, I won't be getting them until 12/3.

I think I'm done for the day - I was going to go to the Gap but I think I'll do that tomorrow.

Yep, and that's per piece, per item. Not the total purchase. Been that way for a couple of years now. *And then if you go to Macy's and get the "out-of-towner's discount card" from the Customer Service desk, you can save 11% off your whole purchase - even sale items.

OH!! Actually... -And this directly from the NYC Government site:
There is no City sales tax imposed on the purchase of clothing and footwear regardless of the amount. The New York State tax rate of 4.375% (including the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District rate) was repealed effective April 1, 2006, and the New York City tax rate of 4% was eliminated effective September 1, 2005 for items under $110. For items over $110 the tax was eliminated effective September 1, 2007. More information on the clothing and footwear sales tax exemption is available from the State Web site.
So, no tax on any clothing purchases as of last September? Really?!?! Now that's cool!

Wow, it may be time to go to Jackson Heights to buy another kurta, or two.

Question for anyone who was helping me with the PayPal fiasco -
Was it someone on here that told me that the money will be returned to the buyer if I don't get it out of Paypal after a certain amount of time? The buyer finally responded to me and said that the money has already been taken out of her checking account and cleared through her Paypal, so she's not sure what else she can do.
-
Well, I'm leaving work early. I have a few things to do before the Linda Eder concert. And after the concert (actually, it starts during the concert, but I won't go until afterwards), the director of Reefer Madness is having a party at his house, so it'll be a long evening. :D
Until MUCH later!

Hi Penny. At least you still have your sense of humor. Did you receive any good news today?

Library tip for the day: If you're going to send a friend to the library to ask for information for you, please find someone who's SOBER :P

Hi DR Noel, funny post today.

-
DR Ann - I'm no expert, but this happened to me fairly recently. My Paypal recipient did not have a "registered account," and after 30 days, my payment came back into my bank account.
I don't think a Paypal recipient has to do anything special to claim incoming funds, do they? It's just deposited right into their specified account, assuming their Paypal account is active, with an email notification.

NEVER...........NEVER............NEVER
underestimate the power of HHW prayers and vibes!
Late last night, Stan woke up.

Hmmm....
I'm wondering if a certain scene in The First Nudie Musical was inspired by the dancing brooms in The Sorcerer's Apprentice? ;)

Oh, DR TCB - that is such amazing news!!!!
Awesome, actually... :)
-
YIPPEEE! DR TCB!
-
Ann - the buyer can still cancel they payment, I think. As long as you haven't "accepted" it, which you haven't. Ask her to see if she can, and then the money will come back to her and she can put it in the proper account.
-
What are all the DRs wearing tonight?
I have on a nice sky blue sweater-shirt, with a white collar (almost priestly) and my blue-leafed flannel pajama bottoms. . .
-
I ended up stopping at the Gap - just for fun, I tried on a pair of 33 jeans - they fit great, and were a little loose in the butt. So, just for more fun, I tried the same jeans in 32 - they fit GREAT - loose in the waist just a little, and the butt a much better fit. I was so HAPPY I bought the damn things to wear on Sunday. Hoo and ray.
-
I haven't been in a pair of 32 jeans since 1998.
-
At last, my arm is complete again!

Congratulations, bk. What a great feeling of accomplishment and confidence that must give you! :)

somewhat alive
But alive!
But alive!
But...
Nah, don't get DR FJL started again. ;)
Glad you are feeling better, DR DakotaCelt.
-
Are you being euphemistic again?
Well, not intentionally.
But as DR DtM said earlier, almost any post here at HHW can be made to seem dirty. :P :D
-
We are going over the river and through the woods to my mother's house for an early family Thanksgiving pigout tomorrow. Since we can't all be together on the day.
-
Hmmm... I just consumed/ate/ravished/relished a Baked Artichoke. It was sooooo good. It was simply prepared with breadcrumbs, garlic(!) and other Italian herbs and spices, and a generous drizzle of olive oil. Again, sooooo good.

Back from a surprisingly delightful breakfast. This gal is a film composer from Germany who was just trying to meet as many interesting people as she could during her three month stay here - she's very sweet and fun and we had a great time.

I have heard that some soap boards are reporting the death of Wayne Heffley. He played Vern on the show and wasa close friend to Matt and Christina Ashford.
He was on Days for several years but he had also done a fair amount of television and a few movies.
He passed away today

WOW! This is fantastic! How is he?
Weak.
The first thing he said when we were all gathered around his bed this afternoon was, "Well, apart from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"
-
Great news indeed from the land of Pudgy Sound or wherever it is (Canada?) where that old guy rows his boat.
-
Lincoln - is that a Maid Marion/Robin Hood reference?
-
TCB - What wonderful news about Stan
-
I could have sworn that I just tried to post and this topic was locked.
-
I tried to post about the great news about Stan.
-
I accidentally locked it - was playing on the iPhone on the site, and sometimes it's really hard to hit the right button.
-
We still don't know if this is a temporary recovery, or a permanent one. He is still very very weak, and as fast as they pump fresh blood into him, it pumps out again directly on to the brain.

The little orange kitten passed her exam at the doctor today.

We will continue to pray for Stan.

Confidence is the absolutely on the money. I couldn't even look in the mirror in July. Now I have abs and buns of steel and no tummy. Yes!
BK - I missed the beginning of the saga of the weight loss, so I must ask, are you following a certain diet plan? Or making it up on your own?

Continued vibes to Stan...

glad to hear that the orange kitty passed its doctor exam

Keep it up bk!!!

Congrats BK! I hope to be able to say that by next summer. I have a long way to go, but I'll get there

No street view of our house, but the church is on it.

Nah, Singdaw, I reserve that for western ND....

No. That means that the police still have it under surveillance

G'night!

Somewhere under surveillance
Bluebirds fly

Or is that Jailbirds fly
-
What mischief did you commit now Singdaw that you are under surveillance? ;)

The little orange kitten is hiding somewhere. I guess she feels I betrayed her by taking her to the vet. She'll come out when she's hungry, I guess.

Greetings from Merrillville, Indiana! We had an uneventful drive, except for some heavy traffic around Indianapolis.
It is very cold.

Has anyone watched the MONARCHY program that has been running on PBS?
Yes, DR DakotaCelt, Richard and I have been watching and finding it quite interesting.

Has anyone watched the MONARCHY program that has been running on PBS?
Yes, DR DakotaCelt, Richard and I have been watching and finding it quite interesting.
I've been watching it too. FJL, have Dylan and Toby been watching??

Hi, DR Cillaliz - I think I'm in your time zone now.

But my brain is still in the Eastern time zone and thinks it's bedtime, so
'night!

We started watching The Singing Nun.
Hilarity ensued.

Ah, Katherine Ross appeared!
Seriously, though, my copy should be in my mailbox before Thanksgiving. :)
Thanks Ebay!

Hey, here in Delaware we can't even get an anti-discrimination bill through the state Senate.
It gets through the Assembly every year. But, because it covers discrimination in employment as well as housing, it has to go through the Senate Small Business Committee before being voted upon by the Senate as a whole. Unfortunately, the Senator who chairs the committee believes that the bill is part of a Gay Agenda attempt to force the schools to teach good things about homosexuality, so he uses what is called a "desk drawer veto" and ever so politely ignores the bill until it gets passed by the Assembly the next year.
The twist? Hey, this is Delaware, there's always a twist! The Senator who keeps blocking the bill is a Democrat. The State Assembly that annually passes the bill is controlled by Republicans. So much for conventional wisdom about which side supports gay equality. Gilbert and Sullivan would love Topsy-Turvey Delaware.

that's a scary thought ;)

BK - Yes, we're still planning an HHW get-together for the evening of Tuesday, December 2!!!
Haven't chosen a restaurant yet, but I've promised that it'll be someplace reasonable cost-wise.
That eliminates Per Se.

I began my evening of entertainment with the Blu-ray edition of THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD. Except for maybe three shots, the picture was gorgeous, sharp as could be, and very appealing. Hadn't seen it in some time and really enjoyed the luxuriousness of the production. And DeHavilland has never been more beautiful than in this movie.

Next, I watched the GLORIOUS TECHNICOLOR documentary which is a part of the package on both DVD and Blu-ray. I've always enjoyed this documentary.

After that, I put on IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME, another film I haven't watched in some time. Except for some dust specks, it's really a lovely transfer.
-
And I concluded my evening with tonight's GHOST WHISPERER.
Though Sam's parents made me REALLY angry (treating a grown man like he was 12!), the last 15 minutes or so were very moving, and if this is how David Conrad is going to be used for the rest of the season, I'm all for it. It gives him an interesting new character to play and yet keeps him at the forefront of Melinda's life.

Page 10 Dance!!!

I also recorded tonight's rerun of THE MENTALIST because from the description on the cable guide, I couldn't remember if I had seen it or not. The second he started playing rock-paper-scissors with Xander Berkeley, I remembered that I HAD seen this episode, so I deleted it.

That still leaves SUPERNATURAL and SMALLVILLE on the DVR to be watched. I should be able to clear them off over the weekend.

Ann, I started the weight loss in mid-July. I'd grown to epic proportions (for me) and couldn't even look at my reflection anymore. I began jogging - a mile and a half a day, then worked up to two miles, then three, and now four, every day (I've only missed one day of jogging since mid-July, during my bout with the flu. As to the actual diet, I do the only thing that has ever worked for me - count calories and fat grams. I normally eat between 1200 and 1500 calories per day and I've lost consistently every week, sometimes two to four pounds, sometimes only half a pound. I've eaten over 1500 calories on a few occasions, and I feel comfortable doing that once a week (my splurge meal). But I don't think I've eaten over 2000 calories since beginning this.

I am pissed.
I spent a good share of the evening making French onion soup, complete with cheesy croutons. I'd pulled the bowls from the broiler, and served der B his bowl, when, on my way back to the kitchen, I spotted our spotted Fletcher making his way into my room. Suspicious, I went to check on what he was doing.
He was peeing! IN MY ROOM!
Yes, he got a spanking right then and there. But the whole thing turned my stomach, and ruined my appetite.
I am so not pleased. :P
-
I read something today on the innernet that I simply do not understand:
Bronx Mowgli
??????
-
Most of the moms on this board could probably tell you some peeing stories, SWoody.
-
Time to turn in. The only day off I'll have next week is Tuesday (yep, I'm working on Turkeyday), and it's crunch time.

He was just marking his territory.

I'm back from seeing the Transport company production of BURY THE DEAD, which featured a tour de force performance by my friend Donna Lynne Champlin playing all the ladies' roles and six wonderful young men as all the various soldiers. I think it's a very powerful anti-war piece and the production was quite interesting.
-
My eyes are very heavy so I'm heading downstairs to bed.
Good night!

I have also been working on loosing weight the last few months. I know I started aroun 160 and I want to get to 145 by spring. I have been watching what I am eating, exercising and doing mental exercises also.
I have been going to the mall or the to the dome and walk, wlak, walk, walk... It is getting cold to walk outside. No ice yet but I would rather walk where it is a bit warmer.
-
I have also been doing pilates... Wish I had a ball for doing it.
-
I find that my hip has been hurting less... so that is good!
-
My goal is around 145!
-
Good luck with PT Elmore!!!!

Several of the soap boards have an obituary and some memorial items about Wayne Heffley up. HE was also in Roots, Testament and various other programs.
Heffley played Jack Deveraux's (Matthew Ashford) side kick, Vern Scofield...

I am nearing the end of hte line on this paper and a project for my class.... It feels good!

I think I will pop in a video later and list to the audio and work. I slept way too long today and now I am WIDE awake.

I have not watched much lately for telly due to working on my paper and project.
However I have been listening to music:

Dont have an ipod. Having dail up makes it a bit difficult to download music.
I may watch some classic Days in tribute to Wayne Heffley.

OKAY FOLKS
Here is a good laugh,
In the trivia section associated with the new James Bond film, someone posted this
SPOILER: The film makes a number of nods to thriller auteur Alfred Hitchcock. Director Marc Forster wanted the plane fight to be a homage to Hitchcock and chose an old propeller-built planes (like the Douglas DC-3) to suit the retro-but-suspenseful atmosphere. This references North by Northwest (1959). The bell-tower sequence and bell sounds at the end of the Siena foot-chase references Vertigo (1958). Paul Ritter plays a character named Bruce Kimmel. This is the same name of the main character played by Farley Granger in Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train (1951).
Actually the character's name is Guy Haines
-
that is curious....
-
ONe day I came across a Bruce Kimmel who wrote a bookon Limnology...

No, really? At the imdb? How terribly amusing and pathetic at the same time. Mr. Haines will be very pleased to hear of it.
-
Vanity Post 300!
-
Has Guy ever visited this lovely spot?
-
I went in and corrected the information which hopefully will be posted in a few days
CORRECTION:
Actually Paul Ritter plays a character names GUY HAINES which is the same name of the character that Farley Granger plays in Strangers On a Train. BRUCE KIMMEL is a close personal friend of Guy Haines who has sung on many albums that Bruce Kimmel has produced and writes a blog on Mr. Haines' website Haines His Way.
