I don’t understand why Keith (I still don’t know how-yet) had to downsize my photo so I could post, yet JRand didn’t have a problem.

Jane,

Great view!
"The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music!"
Ah, the great outdoors! Nothing like them! Beats the city for sure!

Panni,

I guess you know what La Frite means!!!...
In slang, "avoir la frite" means "to feel good"...
So.... I hope you avez la frite and that you enjoy a great meal there!
Also hope they won't be too French!!

Danise: You may ask any questions you like.  All record producers do things differently.  Some don't have any hand in the arrangements or song choices, they're basically just around.  Some don't even bother going to the mix - without naming names, one record producer of cast albums doesn't attend his mixes - just lets the engineer do it.  I'm not like that.  I'm hands on from the day I say yes to an album till the day it ships to the stores - every aspect.  Certain vocalists I let alone until late in the game, then I hear what's going on and give my opinions.  Many albums I'm involved very heavily in the arrangements.   I work closely with the singers, very very closely on every aspect of the performance of every song.  Because Vinnie and I worked together on so many albums, he's able to get rough mixes up of everything, and I just finesse them with him.  I comp the vocals personally, no one else touches them.  On cast albums, I sit with the creative team and tell them what I think the routine of the album should be, we discuss it, come to a meeting of the minds, etc.  Again, it is my job to insure that the performances being given in the theater translate to CD, which is sometimes very tricky.

I have been listening -- as if you cared!! LOL! -- to
WICKED again!
and some old Disneyland Lps transferred to cds that the Main Street Music Store at Disneyland, Ca. only supply at this time (CD on Demand) -- check
www.mouseshoppe.com for list and details... -- at a hefty price (for me)......but what one would not do for "nostalgia":
SUMMER MAGIC (Sherman Bros. LOVE Ugly Bug Ball)
SECRET OF LIFE (Great music by Paul Smith)
and TINPANORAMA (Sherman Bros. again) for a Symposium of Songs animated TV program.......

Ain't you ...green (to stay with today's Sujet Du Jour!) with envy!

Hey, where's Dear reader RLP?

Dear Reader Danise,

When you do have time, please check the archives, here!
Once -- quite a few months ago -- BK has given us a full complete detailed spectrum of his cd producing methods, experiences and anecdotes that were quite fascinating...
It's... somewhere in the archives...

Oh, gosh! Tilt-a-whirl! I hadn't thought of it in many decades, but it was always my favorite ride at our county fair and at the pavillions at the beach each summer. If you could get in the groove of the ride, you could spin yourself totally sick. Always loved it.

I watched the new Liza Minnelli episode of BIOGRAPHY tonight. There were some factual errors in the writing, and even Liza mistakenly said her special LIZA WITH A Z was the first one woman special in TV history. Um, has she forgotten MY NAME IS BARBRA?

Nothing in the two hour show that I didn't already know about her, but it was nostalgic watching her grow up via film and TV clips.

DR George, kudos on the new pic. It is extremely sharp on my monitor. I guess with others changing their pics, I need to take down the old camera and snap a more recent shot of me. I'll work on that this next week.

I remember a day of rides at Pacific Ocean Park and too many trips on the
Tilt-a-whirl.  I had to stop when I couldn’t walk straight after spinning so much.  That was a fun day.  Keith of course did not go on the spinning rides with me.  He has spent many hours over the years watching me on rides.  He goes on the ones that don’t spin, loop or twist.

We were a good team when the boys were little.  He would take them on rides that moved like swings (which make me sick) or on the Ferris Wheel.  Only once have I been on a Ferris Wheel, that was another time at Pacific Ocean Park.  I had this romantic ride in mind and hoped the ride, just like in the movies, would stop at the top where we would kiss.  Well, I got my wish alright but it wasn’t romantic in the sense I had imagined.  I practically hyperventilated and may have been close to tears.  Keith did hold me, but not as I had intended.  It was very humiliating. :D

I'm off to the opera, Dear Readers.  On tonight's bill:  Le Nozze di Figaro.  Keep those home fries burning!
Not to be confused with Le Schnozze di Figaro, where the famous barber faces his greatest challenge, shaving the upper lip of Cyrano de Bergerac.

During an eclipse.

Which sounds redundant, and is sung that way.

By the way, S. Woody White, I've not seen the Stargate television series.  Is it better than the movie?
It's...um...longer.

It has a better sense of humor about itself, more interesting villians and a fuller complement of heroes.  And I forget how many seasons it's been running, but the first six seasons are on DVD.  That's right, the first six seasons.  And a spin-off series starts in July.

Think of poor Michael Crawford.  His real name is Dumbell (sp?).
Not quite.  It's Michael Patrick Dumble-Smith.

With all this talk of what people are seeing on their daily walks, I feel obliged to post this... It wasn't taken this evening, but it's relatively new...
