Well, you've read the notes, the notes were miraculous, and now it is time for you to post until the miraculous cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HEARTSOME!
-
First post after BK!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to (very occasional) DR Charles Pogue!
-
Well, I hate to do it (no, I really do), but I need to go to bed now. Last night, I stayed up a little later than I expected, and then I couldn't actually fall asleep for quite a while (I don't know why), so I hope going to sleep earlier will help...at least for tonight.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have harp parts to write before I head down to City Center around 11:00. I will turn in to joshie all I've finished and deliver the remainder tomorrow to the band reading.
-
DR JohnG, that Waterston-Widdoes production of Much Ado About Nothing remains my favorite. April Shawhan is a very dear friend I've not seen in years.
-
Annabelle and Thatch crawled in bed with me when the apartment temperature plunged around 2:00 this morning. Thatch reminds me of a hyper-active child: will he ever calm down? He did. Eventually.
-
Happy birthday to Charles Pogue!
-
DR TCB, I could not see the photo either.
-
I've fallen in love with Mary Berry of The Great British Baking Show, so I'm reading her biography. She reminds me so much of my friend Loyce.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR TCB, I could not see the photo either.
Nor I.
-
Tomorrow morning at this time it will be my pleasure to be on a train into the city, where I will be hearing the Encores! orchestra rehearsal in the company of our own DR Elmore.
-
It was 11 degrees when I got up. I think we’re up to 13 now.
-
I don’t think I have to leave the house today, which is a fine thing. I shall listen to lots of good music while getting some things done around here.
-
And that’s all I got.
Continued miracle vibes for BK — and for us all, actually. I doubt there’s a soul here who couldn’t use some.
-
Good morning to all
-
Tomorrow is the big day
-
Check the weather in Arkansas. No snow storms which means our guest of honor should be here today. Although it's on the "chilly side" for us natives, it nice weather for her.
-
Belated anniversary wishes to Ginny.
-
For vixmom, that would be the "chili side".
-
For me, it might be the "chili size", a dish fondly remembered from Hamburger Hamlet and - I think - others.
-
Interesting.....that photo was linked from Facebook just like the other one.....maybe I have to be logged on to Facebook for it to show up.
-
Continued miracle and writing vibes for MR BK.
-
Yes, a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to only very occasional like almost never dear reader Pogue!

Yes, a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to only very occasional like almost never dear reader Pogue!
Well, he's always dear, just almost never here.
-
T.O.D.
Hard question.
Since the passing of Don Rickles, I can't think of anybody who is truly funny.
-
That's why I'm still thinking, too, DR DRUXY.
Lots of folks THINK they are funny....and lots of people are thought to be funny.....I'm still thinking.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Two!
-
DR JohnG, that Waterston-Widdoes production of Much Ado About Nothing remains my favorite. April Shawhan is a very dear friend I've not seen in years.
Wasn’t April in the Sherman Brothers’ Over Here!?

She is. I think she's wonderful as Hero in the Much Ado.

And I am off to Music Theatre International and City Center.

She’s a great Hero.

Happy belated anniversary to DR Ginny and Richard!

That's why I'm still thinking, too, DR DRUXY.
Lots of folks THINK they are funny....and lots of people are thought to be funny.....I'm still thinking.
My all-time favorite comedian is still Jack Benny.

Hi all, I had come and share some news. Some good, some bad. First just a word about our weather. We were down to 28 degrees this morning, if you can believe that. We even had black ice on the road. They have been showing a news story about a worker falling on the ice in the road here in Tampa. The wind chill is down to 12 degrees in spots!
Next news, I had a new job that I started on December 13th. I got a bad case of bronchitis and even though I had a temp of 102 I still went to the training because they said if you missed even one day you would lose the job. I made sure I showed up at least 20 minutes early every day. We had to take a test at the end of the training. Long story short, despite all my efforts to show what a good employee I would be, I failed the test by 6 points so they let me go. No, they won’t let me retake it.
That was last Friday. I went to the doctor while I have insurance until the end of this month for the bronchitis and he couldn’t believe I waited so long to go. He said I am in pretty bad shape and gave me some meds. I had a very bad reaction to the meds, my hands blew up to twice their size, turned red and felt like someone poured gas on them and set them on fire. I had hives in my hair and different places on my body. I had to rush back to the doctor to get a shot for the hives and am now on meds for that but I still have bronchitis and they can’t do anything for it until I get rid of the hives.
The shot helped and at least put the fire out of my hands but I have to take the pills I was given for another six days. I don’t know what is going to happen with the bronchitis in the meantime. I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow (Friday). I may end up in the hospital again.
Now for the good news.
Amongst all this I have so other news of a more joyful kind (at least I hope it will be). I may have found the love of my life. His name is Mark and he wants to come and see me. He knows I’m sick and said he is so worried about me he wants to come make sure I am ok. I told him I may be in the hospital after Friday and he said if he has to sit next to me there, he will.
We met on FaceBook and have texting and calling each other steady for the past couple of months. He seems like a wonderful man. He lives in Georgia but is out the country right now but he plans on flying back to the States this weekend. He wants to fly to Tampa first to meet me. He has already said that since I don’t have a job that might just be a blessing so that maybe I can move to Georgia and start a life there with him.
He wants me to fly to Georgia with him when he gets here (after we meet and if I’m not in the hospital) to get his dog, Rain and his truck and drive back down here so we can be together and plan on if I will go with him back to Georgia or stay here and get a job. He said if it would make me happy, he would consider moving here as well. He will have about a month of time off when he get home from his current job. It would give him time to look at Florida and see what kind of job he could get here.
I have never lived anywhere else in my life but I don’t have any family here. I’m thinking he shouldn’t give his job up to move here, it makes more sense for me to go there if we really click when we meet. Of course we have to meet face to face and such but I wonder if this maybe a chance for me to be happy with someone.
I am a bit of a cougar as he is 54 and I’m 59. He has no kids and his wife passed away about 6 years ago.
I don’t know where this will lead to but I can’t help but hope. I know it’s a bit late in life for this kind of thing but maybe it’s not to late for my fairytale to happen. Wish me luck.
Anyway, that’s all the news from here that I won’t share on FaceBook.
-
Very few comedians have the staying power of Benny or Rickles.
Back when I was a publicist, I represented a lot of comedians:
Jack Carter
Jackie Vernon (He got me into film collecting.)
Stanley Myron Handleman
Rip Taylor
Jackie Mason (who still owes my $)
They certainly kept me laughing.

Vibes for DR Michael on the eve of his big day.
DITTO!
-
Wow DR Denise!
First, major get well Vibes!
MEGA VIBES that Mark is the person you think he is and this works out for you. Also that Rain is good with other dogs.
-
I’m hoping everything will work out. I’ve met some reall jokers on line—I could write a book but Mark seems very different. Down to Earth. We’ve already fought online (in messages) and broke up twice but we always come back to one another. It seems that either of us can’t stand not talking to one another. I think that is a good sign. You don’t really know someone until you have had a disagreement. It shows how you really will get a along.
-
Vibes for DR DANISE that everything works out just as she wants it to.
-
Thank you, DR Jrand. I didn’t want to say anything until I was fairly sure it was ok to do so.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was up at five-thirty and as I was thinking I think a bit of magic happened re the book and we'll see how that goes - but I think it will work.
-
Then I went back to bed and slept until the alarm went off at ten, then got up forty minutes later.
-
I just ordered Girl Scout Cookies.
-
Happy birthday to occasional DR Charles Pogue.
-
I futzed and finessed and wrote two new pages. Now I'll go get something to eat, the write four or five more.

I've fallen in love with Mary Berry of The Great British Baking Show, so I'm reading her biography. She reminds me so much of my friend Loyce.
I like her. Is her biography interesting?
I don't know yet. She was born in 1933, and I doubt I've reached 1940 yet.
-
Three!
-
Good to hear from you, Danise. Please be careful.
-
Watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It lacks the majesty of Brazil. But the visuals are certainly interesting. And the performances are fearless.
-
Thank you all for the good vibes and good vibes back to all of you.
When he visits, I will introduce him to my family here. I’m hoping he will be here this weekend or the beginning of next week at the latest. He’s wrapping up paperwork and stuff on his job before he can come home. If it’s a fake, we will all soon know.
-

DR Laura, the cat rescuer who told me I was too old to adopt Archie, just put this calico Phoebe up for adoption. Do you want to put in a bid?
-
Thank you, all. It is a good feeling. I still have a week to get my energy level back up. That will take some time.

Over seven pages so far and break time.

Now that the big Encores! work is over, I need to deal with Thatch's heart murmur next week. Annabelle got an Amazon delivery of Fancy Feast today, so she and Thatch have been fighting over possession of the carton. Yesterday afternoon they were playing so roughly that he squealed like a stuck pig. Absolutely scared the hell out of me.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
MEGA GET-WELL VIBES to DR DANISE!
I hope all works out for you with Mark.
-
GREAT NEWS from DR JOHN G! Congrats!
Continued vibes for a speedy recovery.

I had acupuncture today, then grabbed some lunch, and have now done more laundry.
Such an exciting life.

Congrats and continued healing vibes for DR JOHN G.....such good news!

Miranda Hart
I don't find many people all that funny. I was never a Jack Benny fan, nor really a fan of any comic. But I do love Miranda Hart.
-
I like George's idea last night about an audience favorite award in Vixmom's chili contest. Let EVERYONE judge!

Yes! They are the REAL judges! ;)

DR Jeanne I agree with you about Miranda Hart.
-
DR Laura, the cat rescuer who told me I was too old to adopt Archie, just put this calico Phoebe up for adoption. Do you want to put in a bid?
What a cutie.
DR Laura there is so little white on Phoebe I would call her a tortie & white vs calico. Would you please share a photo of an example of what your calico cat looks like in your imagination.
-
Aww. Phoebe is adorable. She will get adopted right away.
-
I imagine one with lots of white patches. But I will just have to see, Jane.
-
Thanks. I thought it was a more traditional look. I know about falling in love with what grabs your heart. I still think you should foster calico kittens increasing your odds of getting a calico.
-
I go back to work in a week.
Back in the office or begin working from home?
At least two days of working from home. Then we’ll play it by ear.
-
I’m sorry I missed your news DR John G. I’m happy for your good news.
-
Thanks, Danise.
-
I go back to work in a week.

At least two days of working from home. Then we’ll play it by ear.
I am relieved. I feared you were returning to the office too soon.

TOD:
I think Laurie Notaro is generally hilarious, though I find her short work is better than her longer work.
-
Well, it's been a day, and now it'll be an evening of theater. Tonight is our free preview, so hopefully people will be there. I'd heard that one of the actors who is involved with theater in Yelm has invited a lot of his Yelm theater friends, so we'll see if they come tonight.
Be back later.
-
DR JohnG, that Waterston-Widdoes production of Much Ado About Nothing remains my favorite. April Shawhan is a very dear friend I've not seen in years.

Watching The Long Riders and a whole slew of extras. The interviews were done last year. Must have been one of the last that Stacy Keach did.

Stacy Keach is still with us.....he has a featured role on MAN WITH A PLAN - Matt LeBlanc's new sitcom.....

Still thinking about funny folks.

I miss having a cat.
Unfortunately, my dog would not permit it.

Break a leg vibes for George and co
Thanks, Vixmom! We have an audience (about a quarter of the house) and they're enjoying it. They've been laughing at the funny parts and paying attention to the serious parts...so far. :)

And now, back to the show.

I find almost no one today funny.

Break time over and will now write two or three more pages and save two for later.

The show's over and it went very well! I want to leave, but my car is blocked. ::)

Oh, well. ;)

How rude.

How rude.
No, not really. We all have to park off to the side so that the partrons can have their parking. I got to the theater earlier so I went in first, then another person parked behind me. It's all good. :)
-
I'm home now. The cat is fed and I'm heating up some foodstuffs to stuff my face. ;D
-
Good evening.

I watched the newest episode of THE X FILES last night. It was a very big improvement over the first two episodes.
-
And next week’s episode looks like one of their off-the-wall episodes.
-
I'm on the fifteenth page of the day - just started that, so I'll now write the notes, then finish that page and do the beginning of the next page. Moving right along.

Get well vibes to DR Danise.
