Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Allenbury's/Gerther's Pastilles, and now it is time for you to post until the Allenbury's cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHARISMA!
-
Hello.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
My favorite Girl Scout Cookies (https://www.girlscouts.org/en/cookies/all-about-cookies/Meet-the-Cookies.html) are (in no particular order):
Thin Mints®
Do-si-dos®/Peanut Butter Sandwich
Shortbread/Trefoils®
Shortbread/Trefoils®
Caramel deLites®/Samoas®
Lemonades™
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
First post from the East Coast!
-
You are up early.
-
Well, kind of the East Coast. We are currently sailing west by southwest.
-
Earlier I was feeling somewhat queasy. Not really seasick, but close.
-
Things seem to have smoothed out, but now I can’t sleep.
-
I will try again.
-
Good luck. I need to sleep as well.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Yes, DR Laura, the actor in Call Me Madam is our friend Ben Davis' first Encores! show. I recommended Ben to conductor John Wilson, and he played the lead in the BBC Proms production of Kiss Me Kate around five years ago. I think you might enjoy it, DR Laura:

Annabelle is impatient to patrol. She;s climbed onto my computer table and started knocking things onto the floor.
-
Last night, for the first time this winter, I closed the window. I was find, but the cats were not happy with the cold. Both of them spent yesterday in Annabelle's bathroom washtub, huddled around the steam heating pipe, It was the warmest spot in the apartment.

Michel Legrand fans, here's a download for his arrangement of "folk" songs. I put that in quotes since at least four songs are not not folk songs:

Good morning, all.
-
Time to get ready for work.
-
TOD:
I love me some Thin Mints.
-
T.O.D.
You mean, there really are different kinds of Girl Scout cookies!?!
:o :o :o
-
Thanks for the link DR ELMORE!
Vibes for DR TCB......I think since Key West has a LARGE Gay Population & Visitor ratio, the shirts are meant to be ironic and/or informative for those non Bent people who happen to be visiting.....
-
I don't like Girl Scout Cookies....they are too small and expensive....not enough in the box.
I like Snickerdoodles and Animal Crackers and Ginger Snaps.
-
It is 8 degrees with a wind chill of below zero. Tonight and tomorrow there are below zero temps predicted with wind chills of nearly 40 degrees below zero....
The wind chimes are playing a nice tune this morning.
-
I have seen Green Book and Can You Ever Forgive Me?
I liked both films a lot and certainly the Oscar nominations for the three lead performers are deserved.....Rami Malik I guess is the favorite for Bohemian Rhapsody, but the two guys from BOOK are terrific. And Glenn Close seems to be the favorite in the actress category....but Melissa McCarthy is excellent.
Like DR KEVINH, I am interested in reading the book now.
-
I just finished reading My Life With Cleopatra by Walter Wanger & Joe Hyams.....a sort of journal of Wanger's travails in producing CLEOPATRA starring Elizabeth Taylor. I remember reading an excerpt of it when I was 13 or so in LIFE magazine.
It is most entertaining....although my favorite story is not included.
A large painting of Taylor & Burton was being painted on a billboard OR side of a theatre in Hollywood in anticipation of the opening of the film....Fox received a call from Rex Harrison's agent reminding them that his image had to appear wherever Taylor/Burton were represented.... The painters were called back, and Harrison suddenly appeared behind them.
I would guess it was the same illustration that was on the soundtrack LP.

DR VIXMOM we loved visiting NASA!!!!
-
Tuesday morning greetings! Oh, yes, it's cold here today and supposed to be even colder tomorrow. Rebecca and I were supposed to meet for lunch today, but she's not feeling well. I'm sorry about that, but glad to stay in.
-
Back to RENT on Fox - we watched the first and last hours and flipped to NCIS: LA in the middle. My favorite part of RENT was the cabinet of drafting drawers in the apartment set.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Thin Mints, please, thankyouverymuch.
-
Other than that...
Good quality oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, and REALLY good quality chocolate chip. I find most of the latter way too cloying. Dark chocolate is best.
Good ginger ones are great, too, preferably thick and chewy ones.
-
This evening, providing the precip cooperates, I’m seeing the new 4k DCP of VERTIGO. It still needs some restoration work by good hands, but this should look better than anything seen in recent years.
-
ADDENDUM
Oreos — the extra stuff Golden, and the Mint ones which taste remarkably like the Girl Scout Thin Mints.
-
I don't like Girl Scout Cookies....they are too small and expensive....not enough in the box.
I like Snickerdoodles and Animal Crackers and Ginger Snaps.
;D
-
Today's question was a reminder for me to put the Thin Mints from last year down the garbage disposal. I never finished eating my second box.
-
Thin Mints are my favorite but they do not agree with me anymore.
-
Our little, or not so little anymore, friend Bruce met in Portland is once again selling Girl Scout Cookies. I think this year I will only purchase cookies to be donated instead of bringing them home.
-
I hope DR TCB is enjoying a relaxing day at sea.

Back to RENT on Fox - we watched the first and last hours and flipped to NCIS: LA in the middle. My favorite part of RENT was the cabinet of drafting drawers in the apartment set.
So, I set my DVD burner to record the broadcast of RENT that I had recorded on my DVR, but as it was playing, there was an Emergency Alert System alert which interrupted and stopped the playing. I had to delete that recording from my DVD burner and start again.
-
But before I noticed that the EAS alert had happened, I was checking the recording and saw that there was a crawl notice from the local station announcing that the local news that's normally on at 10:00 is now on another sister channel and viewers can change to that station to watch the local news. :o The crawl notice was shown twice and was very distracting (to me, at least).
-
I HATE it when that happens. :P
-
I looked at Comcast's On Demand and they did have the show available(!)...BUT the On Demand version was only the standard-def version, not the hi-def version! :o WTH?? I'll wait a few days to see if the hi-def version shows up on On Demand. I find that even though the DVD that I'm burning is standard-def, it does look noticeably better if I'm recording from a hi-def source, rather than a standard-def source. If a high-def version doesn't become available through On Demand anytime soon, people will either get a crappy complete-without-disruption version, or a slightly better-looking version with a local crawl notice. :-\

Indiana is closed tomorrow.
Also if you had promised to do anything when Hell freezes over, you have to do it tomorrow.
-
The link that DR ELMORE posted has some really nice music.....thanks again!
-
Good afternoon/evening!
-
This was a switch: Due to the weather (rain turning to snow) today the schools and government closed two hours early. They open two hours late a lot (or close down, in the case of the schools) but closing early is unusual.
-
BK--please check your messages.
-
Glad you're feeling better, TCB.

Hmmm, I wonder if Craig left work early. I have been distracted with the weather in Chicago and forgot to check your area.
-
BK--please check your messages.
There aren't any from you. Last message here from anyone is from four weeks ago.

Back from picking up a package and having a Cobb salad.
-
Today was one of those days.
-
More work than time to collect my thoughts.
-
Sometimes that’s good. Not today.

Krista at work has been put on bed rest before the twins come. The doctor told her, she reserved the right to induce labor whenever she deemed it necessary. Ideally tge twins would be born in March.

Let’s move on...

Three!

VIBES THE BABIES WAIT UNTIL MARCH!

Oy! The day from hell began around 11:00 this morning and continues. I've been on the phone with AppleCare almost the entire day.
It all began when I decided to clean my keyboard and unplugged it from the computer. I must have got moisture into the keyboard because it's now dead, but in the process of replugging it to the computer I began a series of continuous glitches that reorganized and froze the items on my desktop and refused to allow me to do anything. I've spoken to three AppleCare gentlemen today and I am still in computer hell, waiting on a return call in 15 minutes.

Topic of the Day Addendum:
Oreos
Double Stuf Oreos
Mega Stuf Oreos
And now for a limited time, they have THE MOST STUF OREOS!! :D
-
I MUST GET THESE!! I just don't know from where, yet.
-
The last AppleCare man was great, and we are finally back to normal. I've wasted a complete day of tax prep on this madness.
-

That's too bad about the waste of time, but great news about getting your computer back normal!
-
BK: Apparently the messages are sent as emails? I just sent another. It's about the Indiegogo campaign for A Carol Christmas.
-
Glad you're computer is working again, DR elmore.
-

Thank goodness. Did you recover your keyboard as well?
-
And now, I must be off. My sister wants me to help hang an antique phone on a wall (it's my niece's that she got from her late paternal grandfather). It's pretty darned heavy, so it's not a one-person job. After that, I'm going to look for some Most Stuf Oreos!
Be back later.
-
We had a great day at NASA
-
There's a picture on FB us anyone can make it jump here
-
Watching the second half of the Magnificent Ambersons. Everyone was so young then. Anne Baxter, Agnes Morehead, everyone.
-
It's cold here tonight, but it won't quite get down to freezing. It's been so warm that I think some of the plants think it's spring. I don't need them freezing over.
-
And it's going to be up to 80 in a week, if the forecast holds.
-
What is this page three malarkey?
-
Vibes for Elmore.
-
Vibes for Michael.
-
Vibes for anyone else in need.
-
And finding the Most Stuff Oreos vibes for George and me. And anyone else in need of those.
-
I like me a good Oreo.
-
Sonic is now serving fried Oreos.
-
I haven't had the pleasure yet.
-
And I probably won't.
-
I don't care for a lot of the additional Oreo flavors, such as cherry cola.
-
Or Swedish fish Oreos.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
Hello, 2 guests!
-
What is your favorite Oreo flavor?
-
There are
MOST STUFF OREOS ?!?

I am back from the most sublime viewing of Hitchcock's VERTIGO that I can imagine -- barring, probably, those of BK's own print of it back in the day.
My God, what a masterpiece. Mr. RAH was there and he asked me when was the last time I saw it on a big screen. I thought for a second and had to confess that it had to have been twenty years ago. Probably at the Ziegfeld, so more than twenty...
The set designs (talk about perfection and richness of detail), the locations, the cinematography, the MUSIC ..... all incredible.
-
Good evening.
-
But there is nobody here!
-
It has been a lovely day at sea.
-
I slept in again this morning.
-
I haven’t seen VERTIGO in, at least 30 years, maybe longer.
-
Probably longer.
-
I don't care for a lot of the additional Oreo flavors, such as cherry cola.
I only like the original.
-
Tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. we arrive at Mahogany bay off the coast of Honduras.

I don't think I have ever seen it on a big screen.
-
Hi Tom.
-
I am glad you had a nice sea day.
-
So, for anyone who has heard of the rioting in Honduras need not worry. We will be far from those demonstrations.
-
Did you do any activities including gambling?
-
Hi, Jane.
-
So, for anyone who has heard of the rioting in Honduras need not worry. We will be far from those demonstrations.
I had missed that news.
-
Did you do any activities including gambling?
I played the slots for a while, then Ken and I went to the Pinnacle Grill for dinner.
-
On our first afternoon onboard, when Ken and I went to have lunch at the buffet, we ended up sharing a table with two couples. A middle-aged couple and her mother and step-father.
-
Sounds llike a good sea day.
-
We have all really hit it off and have ended up spending time together each day.
-
Was dinner good. I recall having a good meal there.
-
We have all really hit it off and have ended up spending time together each day.
I like when that happens.
-
The older couple are both 88-years old, and the woman, Simone, has a little crush on me. She, also, likes to play the slots.
-
😊
-
They are all from Connecticut.
-
Keith likes to play black jack.
-
Page 5
-
Did you see my question asking if dinner was good?
-
Ken plays Blackjack. I am not much of a card player, except Gin Rummy.
-
Did you see my question asking if dinner was good?
The dinner was very nice. Unfortunately I have been having some digestive problems with beef, so I had to skip the steaks.
-
Keith likes to play black jack.
For some reason spellcheck wouldn't let me type this as one word yet TCB didn't have a problem.
-
No problems though with what you ate?
-
I had a very nice piece of planed halibut with prawn scampi.
-
Keith likes to play black jack.
For some reason spellcheck wouldn't let me type this as one word yet TCB didn't have a problem.
Did you try it with a capital “B”?
-
After we ate a very good meal at the Pinnacle Grill I had some major digestive problems. Just don't have hurricane strength winds as we did and you will be fine ;)
-
No, except I ate too much, including dessert.
-
Keith likes to play black jack.
For some reason spellcheck wouldn't let me type this as one word yet TCB didn't have a problem.
Did you try it with a capital “B”?
No. I was lazy ;D
-
No, except I ate too much, including dessert.
I did the same thing and had wine. Had we been warned about the high winds I would have eaten less food and skipped the wine.
-
We had heavy winds the first night out of Tampa. In fact, we had to wait an additional two hours taking aboard our pilot so we were a couple of hours getting to Key West.
-
That seems unusual to have to wait.
-
The weren’t hurricane strength winds, but the Captain said they were forty miles per hour.
-
Do you know how high the waves were?
-
The pilot could not reach the ship.
-
The weren’t hurricane strength winds, but the Captain said they were forty miles per hour.
Pretty strong. During the hurricane winds, which they didn't mention the until it was over, was the only time I have seen guards posted at the doors to prevent the passengers from going outside.
-
You are still on west coast time. You will likely adjust just as it is time to head home ;)
-
Blackjack
That worked ;D
-
That happened when Tracy and I were on the cruise to the Bahamas and we hit a hurricane. Fortunately, I was so drunk, I never got seasick.
-
No idea how high the waves were.
-
Fortunately I didn't know guards at the doors meant "warning!" ;D
-
You are still on west coast time. You will likely adjust just as it is time to head home ;)
No, on mid-Atlantic time. It is coming up on 1:00 a.m., so it is almost time to hit the sack.
-
I would think being drunk would make you very seasick. Keith was fine so maybe you would have been ok.
-
'night. Have a good day.
-
Nicky is eating his food, but as of yesterday, Betzy had only glimpsed his rear end.
-
Two-thirds of the passengers and over half the crew were seasick.
-
Does he usually hide from her?
-
Two-thirds of the passengers and over half the crew were seasick.
When the crew get sick you know it is bad.
-
Page 6
-
Hurricane like winds were bad enough. I hope never to experience an actual hurricane.
-
Does he usually hide from her?
Usually just the first day or two, but it has been a couple of years since he has seen her.
-
Goodnight.
-
I hope he is more relaxed tomorrow.
-
Sleep well.
-
And finding the Most Stuff Oreos vibes for George and me. And anyone else in need of those.
Thanks, John!
-
I went to six, count 'em, SIX different stores to find them!
-
But find them, I did! :D
-
There are
MOST STUFF OREOS ?!?
YES! AND HERE THEY ARE!!
-
And...
-
I don't have a pack of regular Oreos to compare, but I do have some thin Oreos:
-
They are all YUMMY!
-
KevinH, if you leave a PM here I see it here, not as an e-mail. Not sure what's what here.
-
We have all really hit it off and have ended up spending time together each day.
That's great, Tom.
-
Two-thirds of the passengers and over half the crew were seasick.
Oh, no!
~~~Feel Better Vibes for Everyone on the Cruise!!~~~
-
I almost forgot! Today, I received a package from Kritzeland that contained these CDs:
Frank Loesser Revisited
Rodgers and Hart Revisited
Rodgers and Hart Revisited, Vol. 2
The Cisco Kid in "The Gay Amigo"
A Man Called Peter
;D
