Well, you've read the notes, the notes had gremlins, and now it is time for you to post until the
gremlins cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERDURE!
-
BK, very nice picture of the biggest fan of your books. :)
-
Topic of the Day: I don't recall much, if any, gremlin-like activity. Such things may have happened, but I just don't remember. ::)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Cute cat link, DR George. I'm now following Owl_Kitty on Twitter!
-
Good morning, all!

I slept well. I had one dream I remember: IU was a young attorney and the law office whereI worked happened to be the now-torn down Fisher Hall on the Miami University campus, which was the home of the theatre dept. My boss was away and she had left the case to me. I represented a privileged blond lady who ewas involved in a traffic incident.
-
Fisher Hall was supposedly the most haunted building on the Miami U campus. It had been built in the 1860s as a private girls' school, later became a sanatorium. When the university took it over, it was a men's dormitory. By the early 1960s it had become the theatre dept. I was theretwo years as an undergrad and spent my first year as a grad assistant there before the dept. moved to the new theatre in 1970. Everyone had stories of ghostly experiences.
-
And that leads to gremlins. Perhaps ytour home is haunted, BK.
-
The neighbor below me recently tol;d me that she thinks the suicide who lived there before she moved in has returned.
-
DR Geprge, I loved the cat videos. Thank you.
-
DR vixmom, I've missed you!
-
Today's question is, will the snow keep me home today?
-
The only dream from last night I can remember is that DR Ron Pulliam was trying to sell me a knockoff Star Wars DVD.

What? Absurd! I don't do knock-offs. Harrumph!

All day yesterday "felt like" Thursday.
It follows that today will "feel like" Friday.
Ah me.
-
What day IS it?
-
Groggy.
-
Good morning, all.
-
SN*W!
Oh. Good morning, all. :)
-
Ugh. We’re only getting one to two inches, but it looks like a total mess. I don’t expect it to be a fun cleanup.
-
I get gremlins in certain electronic devices.
-
Do restaurants still have chop suey on their menus?
-
I watched the How to Succeed movie again last night and appreciated it way more than I had a few weeks ago. But now I’m much more familiar with the material, and it’s so great that they retained those several members from the Broadway cast. If only they had retained those couple of songs as well.
I’d forgotten that Robert Morse had done a reminiscence for the Twilight Time release. It’s a worthy contribution, as is Michele Lee’s, though hers is more general.
-
Do restaurants still have chop suey on their menus?
I don’t think so, but I love mentioning chop suey whenever an opportunity presents itself, just to enjoy people’s reactions.
-
I wish there was something - other recordings, film clips, anything - on Bonnie Scott, the original Rosemary. Interesting vocal quality.
-
Today is Thursday. Someone is coming to look at the big house at 1 p.m.
We shall see what we shall see.
Yesterday I called the Insurance company and let them know we sold the cars so that we can get a refund on the next 7 months of coverage we don't need.
-
Travel vibes for DR VIXMOM.

I thouight my favorite Chinese place still had chop suey on the menu. I was wrong; they still have chow mein.

DR JANE I ordered my 4 free tests yesterday. It was easy and I hope they come......
-

We have a couple of Asian restaurants run by caucasians who include it.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
I enjoyed the notes and the photo.
My gremlins like to move things in my house or turn things on in the kitchen or family room....
Our barn theatre is of course haunted.....and I do not like to be there by myself at night. I have seen the ghost only once! But that was MORE than enough!
-
Thursday morning greetings! It's very cold here today, but we're not supposed to get any snow.

Do you know who the ghost is? Where did you see it? I want to know more, please.
-
I have been to some Chinese buffet places that have jello surprise on offer. Surprise!
-
:)
-
The new The Gilded Age cast includes some theater folks. Christine Baranski has the Maggie Smith role. Cynthia Nixon is her sister. Nathan Lane and Douglas Sills are also in the cast.
-
I would like to like it. I've seen some iffy reviews.
-
The new West Side Story will be streaming on Disney+ the last week of January, and out on home video 3/15/22.
-
Well, guess who Access-a-Ride screwed over today?
My pickup time was scheduled for 10:20; at 10:16 I called to inquire status. I was told the driver would be there in 15 minutes.
At 10:30 I called again. He'll be there in 15 minutes. I was beginning to get irate. At 10:45 Access-a-Ride sent me a text: your car has arrived.
-
So, I stepped outside to the street. No car.
I called the driver, who told me he would be there in 8 minutes. I told him to cancel the trip.
I went back inside, called Lenox Hill and told them I would not be in. I came home and canceled my return trip at 1:15.
At 11:16 Access-a-Ride texted me: your car is here.

The picture could be better, but this is fun: the 1959 live broadcast of Meet Me in St Louis, with a great cast - Jane Powell, Tab Hunter, Walter Pigeon, Myrna Loy, Ed Wynn, etc.
-
No precipitation in the forecast anymore, but everything is still closed.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep.
-
Cute cat link, DR George. I'm now following Owl_Kitty on Twitter!

DR Geprge, I loved the cat videos. Thank you.
My pleasure!

Maybe early February?

He decided he wanted a bargain and I decided I wasn't giving the house away.....so he passed.
-
Nice link DR ELMORE.
-
DR ELMORE the ghost is the lady who gave us the property and who has her name on the theatre.
She often walks around in the lobby. I met her a few times and she and her brother both attended shows in the first few years we were open......
I was locking everything up one night and was by myself. I was turning off the lights in the restrooms and as I came around the corner into the lobby, there she was just looking around.
She noticed me and then just floated up the steps to the tech loft.....
-
Wow. That's a good one, DR Jrand71.
We have ghosts in our local theeders. Or so I have it on good authority from those who are sensitive to these things. Some of them (the ghosts) are more accommodating than others. Fortunately, if any of them have had it in mind to make mischief for me, they have thus far failed at it in these past 25 years or so. Others (the people) have no end of problems with them.
-
So, Access-a-Ride has struck again. This one had a little bit of everything in it. Lordy!
-
I just love the theeder. Don't you?
-
Today's snow cleanup, for the lousy one-and-a-half inches we got, was a mess. The amount of work it took was completely out of balance with the aforementioned lousy one-and-a-half inches. As we speak, whatever's out there on the driveway will now be ICE for the next ... I just checked .. whole week or so, at which time we might see a couple of days above freezing.
Some of that will dissipate from further application of sand and salt, of course. We certainly have an okay start on it. But I have to admit that at times like this my thoughts turn to sunny climes...
-
I haven't seen snow in many, many, many years.
This winter, they only talk of freezing rain, sleet or black ice.
I ain't having any of that, thanks.
-
It's still Thursday, i'n't it?
-
The whole day has just dragged along, and every single second of it has seemed like Friday.

-
Picked up a couple of packages (more Airborne and a screener of West Side Story), went to Staples for more printer paper and to print out the book for proofing - it's already ready but I'll get it in the morning. Then I had two turkey sandwiches of my own making on onion rolls - very good - did a few things on the computer, shaved, and in thirty minutes rehearsals. begin.
-
He decided he wanted a bargain and I decided I wasn't giving the house away.....so he passed.
Good!

I always hated when that happened. Stay safe on it.

So true though I expected as much.

DR Jrand71, thanks for the ghost story. Harvey Schmidt, Tom Jones, and I stayed in a haunted house when we did Mirette at Goodspeed in 1998.

Me, too.

Good night, friends.
-
I started the week with a large backlog of files
-
I left today with a nearly clean desk
-
There were four files which I couldn’t close out because of missing stuff from others
-
But my supervisor was very pleased
-
So we’re fishing the packing process
-
I am trepidatious about the weather reports
-
We always pack a cooler full of drinks and sandwiches and snacks so we can eat while driving instead of losing time to stop for meals
-
So if we get caught in one of those weather related traffic jams we won’t starve
-
So there’s that
-
I left today with a nearly clean desk
That is a good feeling.
-
Are you taking extra warm clothes for the car, just in case?
-
But my supervisor was very pleased
Nice!
-
I am reading a sad book, not good when I feel sad that the kids left today. We were too busy and Freyja was moving too much to catch good photos. We did get a nice video.
-
But my supervisor was very pleased
Nice!
Yes, very nice.
-
Watching what my friend Hillary calls a kicking movie. It's called Once Upon a Time in China and it's more than two hours of people kicking each other. It's really quite fun. And the choreography really doesn't get boring. There's always some place new for them to kick each other in. The budget seems to have been limitless.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!

What's the sad book, Jane? I don't need sad right now.
-

Good stuff.
-
We'll see if February is any better to travel in than January. I bought tickets to Florida for the second week of February.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab. Sad but the writing is lovely.
-
I have been having a frustrating time with the internet going in and out.
-
Keith purchased a new monitor today, installed it and then had to set is old one back up.
-
I asked him if he was causing the internet problems. His sweet response was....
"I am. Are you having fun? I know I am." :))
-
All done just in time for me to say....
-
'night

Good night, all.

Rehearsal is finally finished. All the kids did their homework, addressed the notes from Monday and really did a good job.
