Anna Nicole Smith's Will Said Estate to Go to Howard K. Stern to Hold in Trust
Friday , February 16, 2007

 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  —

Anna Nicole Smith said in a 2001 will that all property of her estate should be given to longtime companion Howard K. Stern to hold in trust for her son Daniel, who died in September.

"I have intentionally omitted to provide for my spouse and other heirs, including future spouses and children and other descendants now living and those hereafter born or adopted," Smith said in the will.

...

The attorney for Smith's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, said the will wasn't filed in any court, so it is not valid.

I wonder what corespondence school law course taught that bit?

In my CD player:  the new London Palladium cast recording of The Sound of Music that was cast by the British TV show.  Connie Fisher who plays Maria actually quite good. :)

After that will be The Drowsy Chaperone, the "Deluxe Collector's Edition Remastered From the Original 1928 Recording" that was released on numbered, limited edition vinyl!  Fortunately, when you get the record, you also get a CD copy of it, so you don't have to actually play the record...even though I do have a working turntable. :)

After that will be Klea Blackhurst's live tribute to Ethel Merman cabaret CD, "Everything the Traffic Will Allow."

Well... Since I still had to purchase my plane ticket for my upcoming trip to Atlanta...

And wouldn't you know it?  The fares dropped another $5.00  - and this was after United's "East Coast Fare Sale" ended yesterday.  ???

Alas, no direct flights were left between NYC and ATL, but I don't mind the stopovers - if I have the time.  I earn more miles that way.  Alas, I'm connecting through Chicago O'Hare, so...  And some of the connections are mighty tight.  However, I made sure that there were enough subsequent flights each day just in case there are delays.

And now that I'm booked and ticketed...

Here's my contribution:  Playbill.com has a very nice (and long) article about the real original Sandy in Grease, Carole Demas!  I didn't know anything about her, especially this:  that Carole "has the distinction of being the first actress to ever sing Stephen Schwartz's vocally demanding "Meadowlark" (in the Los Angeles premiere of The Baker's Wife), a song she often includes in her concert act."

Who knew?? :D

The trousers now fit!  Yay! Hurray!

This morning the minister who will speak at the funeral came by to get our input on what we'd like for the service and to get stories about dad.  He was a very kind young man, and I think the shebang will go well tomorrow.

I drove into town to pick up my trousers and run a few errands.  On my way back I got distracted by the Macbeth's postbox which had a streamer hanging from it and I foolishly pulled into their driveway.  Since it was too icy and narrow to drive backward, I drove down to their house, turned around and headed out, only to slide on the ice into a huge pile of snow and become stuck.  That sent Lady M to the phone to call (3 times!) to ask Randy what I was doing and why I hadn't stopped in.  As if he knew.  I needed to get back and try on the pants, in case I had to go out and buy a suit!

So, I'm sitting there unable to move forward or back and my brother came out to check out the scene.  He went away, and I thought, I'll leave the car here and walk back, when my brother showed up with a shovel and proceeded to dig me out.  I told him to let me shovel and push and he could maneuver the car, but no, he insisted I get into the car, as the tension between us rose.

Just as my nephew Matt showed up to help, Tom got all ballistic screaming at me to go forward, go back, turn the wheels, etc.  The gist is, I got out of my drift and got the car back to Randy's, feeling totally inept as a driver - which is almost true anyway - and a failure as a sensible human being. Tom called ten minutes later and apologized,  Matt's comment to me was that was how he behaved on the job with the employees.  Oy!

I did get a very lovely email from our DR Cason AKA Zubrick. He wants those boxers bad, I can tell.  Oh, my BRain arrived today!  I think I'll go up and play it along with DR Matthew's CD which arrived yesterday.
