Joe Nichols kind of looks like Josh Groban...at least in that picture.  I'm sorry to say I have no idea who Joe is.

Why isn't someone luring Barbara Harris back onto stage or into movies for something plum and delicious?

DR RLP - Mostly recordings and various amateur and professional revivals across the US and around the world.  And then there were the recent concert Follies and the Lupone Gypsy in NYC.

Something else scary:

Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house.
Everyone should be aware of this! It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming.

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions straight to our house. I did fill out the removal form for myself, and encourage all of you to do the same. Quite scary.

Please look up your own number.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: www.google.com/
Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e.
555-555-1212) and hit enter. If yo u want to B L O C K Google from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours.

He's a cultish figure in country music, with a gorgeous baritone, bordering on bass, with excellent taste in music.

Maybe our DRs out in old Arizona would be kind enough to track her down and let her know how much she's missed.

I remember seeing her in two films, RED SKY AT MORNING and LAST SUMMER. . .she seems to have dropped quite out of sight.

DR td probably already knows this, but The Arden Theatre Company in Philly is presenting Sondheim's Assassins, starting this week.

Evidently, both John Wilkes Booth and Charles Guiteau will actually be in attendance at the performances (sort of/kind of.)

Those two films are the ones that I saw and loved at a time when I thought she was going to have a spectacular career.

And then.....poof.  She's gone.

Another "poof....she's gone":  Valerie Perrine.

Why in hell didn't her career go anywhere?

Very sorry to read about Jane Wyman. If I had known this earlier, I would have chosen ALL THAT HEAVEN ALOWS or STAGE FRIGHT to watch this afternoon.

From Valerie's hopelessly un-updated webpage:
Quote
Her activities included collecting Dogs (she once shared her home with 4 Great Danes and a Mastiff )  Currently she has a Labrador Retriever... MoJo. .  She enjoys needlepoint, sewing, reading, painting, gardening, and her latest love... her computer which she is using to write her first novel. Valerie also loves traveling... enabling her to study foreign cultures and languages.

I began my afternoon of viewing by finishing THE CANTERVILLE GHOST which I had started last night. What a delightful film. Yes, I think margaret O'Brien probably stole the show back in 1944, but now, I'm a lot more interested in Charles Laughton's performance which is one of his greats. Just loved him in the movie.

Next, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yep, the gay storyline was in evidence today, and Madie has finally been alerted to the possibility that something might have gone on between Luke and Noah. Will be interesting to see Noah's reaction to her confrontation. Again, I LOATHE the character of Noah's father.

From the previews, it doesn't look like the storyline wil be on tomorrow's show at all.

Because I enjoyed watching the James Bond DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER over the weekend, I concluded the afternoon viewing by choosing another Bond adventure - OCTOPUSSY. Only got about 25 minutes into it, but I should have no trouble finishing it by the time THE CLOSER comes on tonight.

I reported last night on some of the Emmy wins from the Arts and Crafts portion of the Emmys held Saturday night.

Just read that KATHY GRIFFIN - MY LIFE ON TEH D-LIST won the Reality Show (non-competition) Emmy this year! I couldn't be more thrilled!

Best casting for a drama series: FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Best casting for a comedy series: UGLY BETTY

Guess I'll head down now and read another chapter in THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. (Am just now finding out what the Deathly Hallows are! I'm over halfway through the book!)

Don't have to clean the dining room. I did that this morning.

I concur. I walked to the corner to put some Netflix DVDs in the mailbox early this morning and it was already hot and yucky. Fortunately, I don't have to be outside a lot, I can stay in AC. But, to my mind, that takes some of the fun out of life.

For all you DRs interested in MONKEY BREAD:

Williams-Sonoma now carries a "classic monkey bread mix" and a monkey bread baking mold. They describe monkey bread as a pull-apart yeast bread. You roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter), then dip each one in melted butter and cinnamon-sugar, before stacking the balls in the mold. You let the dough rise, then bake. Same animal, JOSE?

Actually, TD this has been available for many years. It will only work with listed phone numbers and you could easily find the same info by knowing someone's name and looking them up in the phone book. In other words what is in the phone directory is also available on-line.

Of course you can also look stuff up on public records sights.
