Job interview done. They have other interviews to do. So, I won't likely hear today.

I think it went well, but what do I know?

Great snarky bit from Michael Riedel today:

Anyone remember “Into the Light,” a musical about the Shroud of Turin, that ran six performances in 1986?

The late writer Peter Stone dubbed it “Jesus Christ Tablecloth.”

I went back to bed and slept until ten, at which time I had two telephonic calls, both nice.  I also awoke to a kind of apology for last night's irritating e-mail, so that was nice.

From Facebook, a free download of the TV soundtrack of "Golden Apple."

Looking forward to listening to that later.

Friday afternoon greetings from rainy Indianapolis!  There was no compelling workshop for me in this time slot, so I've chatted with the vendors and am relaxing before my next session.  Dinner tonight with the Dayton folks at Weber Grill.

Finished finessing the songs for the final episode of Outside The Box, so I can now get them to our musical director.  I think they're fun.

Thanks for the link, John!  I'll have to wait until I get home to open it because my work computer can't open it (it's a .rar file, not a .zip file), but my home computer can.

I know it's one of Elmore's favorite scores from postings in the past, but I didn't know if anyone else liked it.

I remember searching for years for the original cast recording of "Golden Apple," which I found on vinyl the day that I went in for my job interview in Sarasota, Fla. Funny, how on the day that I have another job interview, I somehow land on another recording of "Golden Apple."

I got the job in Florida. Only the good Lord knows what will happen here.

From DR John G:
Quote
See's Chocolates is opening a store in the San Antonio Northstar Mall (the one with the big boots, for those who know their San Antonio trivia). Not a kiosk, but a full, year-round store. To celebrate they had a party where they gave out free chocolate and told some history of the place.

One bit of trivia was that the chocolate episode of "I Love Lucy" was filmed at See's (I know, it looked like a set to me). But that setup is how they operate. So, they had a chocolate boxing contest to see who could box the most chocolates in the quickest time. I won my division and got to keep the candies, which, luckily for me, were coconut cream, one of my faves.

I never knew that bit of trivia-thanks.

How fun you got to play the game let alone keep the box.  Was it the box you filled?  I would have passed on the coconut creams-glad you won instead ;)

Yes, you got to keep the box you packed. I didn't know until afterward what flavor  I had worked on. They also gave you a large assorted box, some hard candies, peppermints and a bunch of other stuff that I don't need in my house.
