Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the proper aspect ratio, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they don't really know from aspect ratios.

Good morning, all! At 5:10am, I decided I could sleep no longer and got out of bed. I was sleeping badly: the pain in my right shoulder is getting worse, and my right arm is not working well, so on Monday I'll call my doctor and see about physical therapy. I did dream I was in Dublin (speaking of Hibernian) and we were recording, or staging,  Gilbert & Sullivan's Patience. My beloved Philip O'Reilly, who's so wonderful as Colonel Lester in EILEEN, was in full military uniform as Colonel Calverley. When I woke, I tried to sleep on the heating pad, and finally figured the hell with it.

So, I'm up and dressed and on my first cup of coffee.  This morning, I'll head down to Toyland with my LoC copies and work for a couple of hours before heading home. I think then I will apply the heatng pad to my shoulder and watch some scary DVDs for Halloween.

TOD:
The Uninvited (which is coming out on a Region 2 DVD next week)
  The Student Prince (silent film)
Where's Charley?  (Jo Loesser says Warner Archive is doing it; when?)
Finders Keepers (one of Richard Lester's last films)

Bonjour Tristesse on Blu Ray?  This is wonderful news.  I shall have to start saving my $$$.  I really love this film....

These last few years have been very good to me in terms of DVD releases including Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Harlow....Not of This Earth.....

Some of the last holdouts I guess would be:

The Undead a Roger Corman film from 1957 in Region 1
And I shall await a few other lists.....from DR's to see what else is unavailable.  Usually when I go to post a title and check Amazon, I find that it HAS indeed been released!

Jennifer, that's why I rarely back out of spaces any more. If possible, I find where there are two spaces, one in front of the other, and drive through so I can pull straight out.

I think I'm going to try to do this more often.  Although in this case it was the only spot. I would have had to park much further to be able to drive through. And I was just going to the bank not the mall.

I was just completely shocked at these people. Why be so lazy? It's not worth it for them to get hit. At least the first guy honked. But have some common sense.

It reminds me of people driving when there are various lanes and someone signals and needs to switch lanes. Here nobody will let that person switch. I always let someone signalling switch. I mean if they are in front of you and they need to switch lanes, why not let them? (and i'm not talking about a long line of cars that need to get in a turning lane and the cars that drive right up to the front so they don't have to wait).

Yes, the driver probably did want you to hit them.  As I found out last year, if you are backing up, regardless of any other circumstances involved, the accident is your fault!

I've never been in a car accident. But I"m pretty sure all accidents here are no fault/equal fault.  Which is okay except when one person is wreckless and really at fault!

Off to work.

Oh well.

My Aunt Martha always told me that every time you leave your house, before you return you will see THREE funny things.  And she has always been proven true.  The trick, of course, is to not BE one of the three funny things.

Good morning, all.

Book signing went well. We sold about 20 copies and signed a dozen or so more from folks who had gotten their copies from amazon or any of the bookstores. But the real pleasure was showing off the restaurant, the best sushi bar in town, to a number of people who had never been there and really enjoyed themselves.

I like that DR RonP is looking at the bright side of things. I'm sure former DR MattH did have to hurry to get his flight.  But given the way he left I can't imagine that he would have wanted to talk to BK.  It would have been nice if he had quickly said hi even if he had to leave.  But maybe he thought that BK saw him when they passed and that BK did not want to say hi to him.  I wish they could have talked and that DR MattH could come back to HHW.  :(

And the word of the day is: HIBERNIAN!

The Hibernian Society will host the annual Celtic fest at McQuare wharf in April.

TOD:

The first time, I ever encountered MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING was a PBS screening of a BBC televised version starring Maggie Smith and Robert Stephens as Beatrice and Benedick, with Derek Jacobi as Don Pedro, Ronald Pickup as Don John, Frank Finlay as Dogberry, and lots of other notable actors like Michael Gambon Edward Petherbridge in small roles. It was based on a National Theatre production directed by Franco Zefferelli...AND WAS WONDERFUL! I've never forgotten it.  A tape of this production...thought lost or scrubbed...was found in the BBC archives about a year ago.  Time for the BBC to put it on DVD!

Saturday morning greetings!  It's another damp, blustery day here in SW Ohio.  I have some puttering to do and, maybe, a couple of errands.

I will need to think on today's topic. At the moment, I cannot think of any movies I want released.

It would be nice to see Centennial on blu-ray but i doubt that will happen due to issues connected to the estates of Lynn Redgrave and James Michener.

I would love for the BBC to release more of the dramas on DVD that were aired on Masterpiece theatre.

I would love to see RTE release Year of the French.
