A couple, walking their dog in the storm last night, were killed by a falling tree. What fools. And today they have to send rescue teams to Fire Island to rescue the twits who refused to evacuate.

This is very haunting: the amusement park in Seaside Heights:

I don't know why anyone, let alone the dog, would want to be out walking in that.  My dog friends did quick potty trips BEFORE the worst of the storm hit.  That is if the dog would even go out.  Craig was very relieved Yogi went within two minutes & that was only because he could let him off leash.

That shot of Seaside Hts amusement park was too tiny to see how eerie it is!

Craig told me he put a photo on FB and I can't see it.  He said friends chuckled over it.  Beats me why I'm excluded from it.

In honor of all the areas hit by Superstorm Sandy, the Pacific Northwet has put almost all of our counties under a Flood Warning.  (Actually it has to do with all the rain we are expecting today and tomorrow.)

Back from the DMV and giving the motor car a bath.  I arrived at the DMV at ten for my ten-fifteen appointment.  There was a line of about eighty people outside, said people having not made appointments.  I went in the front door, went right up to the check-in for appointments, was given my number, number was called twenty seconds later, got to the window at 10:05 and was out the door by 10:10.  Fastest DMV appointment EVER.

Am told we only have about fifty people coming so far on Sunday.  I know there will be more, but all this tells me (and we've had this situation before) is that no one cares about Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin or folks like that.  They'll pack the joint for Hamlisch, anniversary shows, and the Lost in Boston kind of shows, but give 'em an old master and it's a tough sell - which means that the planned Cole Porter and Kern shows are going on a long hold.

It is actually unusually warm around here.  It is wet, but very mild.  Not quite a Pineapple Express, but close.

I think I will leave the apartment and wander down Broadway for a bit to see what's going on, if anything.

I just put a 3-pound pork roast in the oven and now I'm going to take a nap.  Because that's the kind of day it is...

That's sad.

Is there any way we can slide about 100 of yesterday's posts and move them over to today?

I didn't think it would be a good idea for me to wait until seven or later to eat the first food of the day, so I had a turkey sandwich - not too may calories and will tide me over.
