Whaddup, dawg?

For those with teenage daughters, which would be vixmom, what current teen trends does your daughter, who is a musicals lover, absolutely abhor - fashion, places, TV, movies, anything you can think of.

As the world goes, yes, it is DRJose's fault.  JOSE: SCOURGE OF GOD strikes again!

Oh, OK, whatever.

What is Jose's fault is that I'm reading Triangle:  The Fire that Changed America, by David Von Drehle, when I should be reading Vanity Fair for book group.

Before DRJoey left this morning, I forced him to watch the first 15 minutes of GUMNAAM.  I think the musical number with the spastic lady dancer has left him in shock and horror.  He kept asking, "Why isn't she wearing a mask?" since everyone else was; it's kind of like "Zorro goes to West side Story."

Off to night 2 of PIPPIN.

Opening night was fine, BIG THUNDERSTORM kept some people away....and there are thunderstorms predicted for the next three days.

So PIPPIN will be underwater for the first week of its run, I fear!

I thought that was a board game.

I've got a few arrangements and orchestrations I'm blaming on DRJose, as well.

DR Rodzinski - We had that happen with our flight on a trip to Toronto - we got there early enough for an earlier flight.  We asked is there any way to get on the earlier flight.  The lady started to say "The only seats I have are - well, OK."  And we got on the earlier plane and it turned out she had upgraded us to first class.  It was only from NY to Toronto, but a free upgrade is a free upgrade, plus we got to Toronto way early, which was wonderful.  Sometimes, bugaboos pay off.

Yes, I was here then. I am a little disppointed that it will be families this next time.  I have nothing against families, but 2 people working together is much easier that 4 and having some of them be kids who will undoubtedly get tired and whiney, yikes!

I'm with you.  Why mess with a good thing?

Hmmm.  well she isn't really a teenager yet, she just turned 12 in April and she's kind of a young 12 (at least for this area in this year) she still likes her American Girl Dolls and playing in the sandbox and on the swings.

I know she says that those pants the kids wear which ride below the underwear is really stupid, and she doesn't like
the loud booming bass on car stereos... on the other hand maybe she says that just to please me because I have complained about them enough in her hearing

MattH: When I saw Scoundrels a few months ago, it was interrupted by a cellphone while Butz was speaking. He changed one of his lines in a funny way that fit the moment, so the audience cheered, but then he went up on his lines for a moment.

I kept thinking someone would say SOMETHING, but then they made a joke at the beginning of the show about not have pre-show announcements, so I thought maybe they thought they couldn't complain when they hadn't made any warnings about them.

A cellphone went off during SPELLING BEE, too, but the person shut it off after two rings. Jesse Tyler Ferguson said in his timid little small voice, "Hello, hello," and the audience just roared.

Media check:  Turntable - Together Again

I found the CD that I made of my album of Together Again and will listen to that today, here at work.

Also in my CD player:  Bernadette Peters' CDs, "Sondheim, Etc." and "Sondheim, Etc., Etc."  I listened to her "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" CD, which has "Hills of Shiloh/Faithless Love" (I'd forgotten that the "Hills of Shiloh" part is the humming that she does before "Faithless Love") so even though it's not listed on the new CD, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.," "Hills of Shiloh" that was listed in the Playbill article that I posted yesterday IS on the new CD because it's the humming part, also, just like on the original studio CD version.

My, that was an unseemly sentence, wasn't it? ;)

I FINALLY got to see "Mr. Monk Gets Drunk." USA reran it this afternoon, and I was there ready and waiting to see it, and it was funny. Tidy little mystery, too.

There is a new episode tonight which I'll also be around to watch "live."

I got to the first 35 minutes of THE FORGOTTEN this afternoon. So far, I'm liking it very much. There's enough misdirection and enigma floating around to keep me interested it seeing how it all plays out. I'm hoping the resolution isn't a letdown. Julianne Moore is one of the best actresses out there right now.

Well Nilla and I have arrived home. If i had 4 teeth pulled I would be in agony (or extremely doped up).  He however, is still a little groggy but otherwise acting like nothing happened.   It is funny to see a groggy cat try to walk a straight line.

He thanks you all for the vibes
