Tomorrow, I shall be listening to and viewing the MET's [relatively] new production of Madame Butterfly from my local movie theatre.

'Twas you who gave me the idea to order it, myself!  Thanks to you, and to bk.

DR elmore3003, I agree.  MediaMail is the worst consumer fraud ever perpetrated.  I have had items take over 6 weeks to arrive, or sometimes never arrive at all.

And thanks to DR dB, I am listening to John Williams' "Air & Simple Gifts" from iTunes.  Quite a lovely 4.5 minutes for only 99 cents!   :)

Still, I am mindful that I should be grateful that I can taste it and swallow it.

DR Laura I'm very sorry you don't like oatmeal.  I cook mine with loads of nonfat milk & dried cherries.  Sometimes I add cinnamon.

FOR BK

I put the 14 songs you have mentioned over last few days into an IPod Playlist

Below is the order I put them in.

I tried to open and close the playlist with two "big" upbeat selections. I tried not to put two ballads or Liz Callaway's cuts one after another. From tracks 5-12 did three upbeats and then a ballad. And tried to use the same kind of songs for 1 & 14  and 2 & 13

If you were to put these 14 songs on a CD what order would you put them and why?

1) Come To The Supermarket In Old Peking
2) Joey, Joey, Joey
3) If You Haven't Got An Ear For Music
4) What Can You Lose?
5) It's A Lovely Day For A Walk
6) Song Of The Pirates/The Elegant Captain Hook
7) Impossible/Suddenly It Happens
8) Too Happy Dancing
9) Nothing More To Say
10) What's New Pussycat?
11) You're Just In Love
12) Evening Star
13) Multitudes of Amy
14) You Can Fly/I'm Flying

Sequencing is everything on a CD, at least for me.  I have spent weeks doing so for certain releases.  And I pride myself that my sequencing makes people return to the CD over and over again.  Some of it is pure instinct, and some of it is based on a theory I came up with on the very first two CDs, which I'll talk about in the notes.  The songs you've chosen are not easy to sequence into a coherent whole, but right off the top of my head I would move If You Haven't Got An Ear to the final position.  I would move You Can Fly much earlier in the program, perhaps track five.  I would move Evening Star earlier.

Watching The Helen Morgan Story - I used to really like this film when I was in my 20s, but I'm finding it slow going now.

Good Evening!

Well... After playing "Sail Me Away" this morning, I was again surprised when a young woman brought in "I Want More" during the afternoon session.

*I believe that's the first time I've played both of those songs since Lestat closed almost three(!?!?!) years ago!

Otherwise, it was another good day.  Everyone seemed quite upbeat and not too stressed out.  Of course, traditionally, the third and final day of auditions has been the "crazy" one.  So, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

*And I can definitely tell that I've played two audition-filled days already.  I was going to head into the Five Points area of downtown Alabama tonight for a "real" dinner, but decided to stay put at the hotel in order to conserve my energy for tomorrow.  Thankfully, there was another reception tonight, so I was able to scrounge up a dinner of antipasti and chicken skewers.  Oh, and a beer too. :)

Some deluded CASTRECL person is emailing me insisting that ANYA and RIO aren't up on Kritzerland, which of course they are.  He needs to clear more than his cache.  ;)

EXACTLY!

*Of course, a friend of mine who happens to be from Birmingham, sent me a list of restaurant recommendations.  As well as a list of his favorite coffee houses and bakeries. ;)
