George I asked the question knowing you might not be a librarian.  Keith asked which library.  He is familiar with a large number of the libraries across the country.  He has an MLS and was a librarian at Caltech (Pasadena) in the mid-70s.  Prior to our first son being born, he managed a sales territory in Southern California for Prentice Hall (now Simon & Schuster).  He says that Timberland is a great multi-county library system—one of the best in the country.  Before retiring (1998) he worked for the Thomson Corporation and, among other things, was of CEO for Gale Research and Information Access Company (IAC).  He thought you’d be familiar with those companies.

I am familiar with Thomson and Gale!  Small world!  And who knew that someone on HHW (from California even) would have heard of Timberland!

DR Jose,

If yours are on the small side, be sure to check them after ten minutes.

I've been checking them every 10 ,minutes, or so, for the last 50 years - and they're still on the small side!

Well, as it turns out there's a problem with the chat room, and no one is there on Sundays to deal with, so I'll have to find out what's what in the morning.  Hence, we can have our chat tomorrow night or sometime this week.  In the meantime, let's post instead of chat.  I expect a TON of Golden Globe posts later, since that is obviously what everyone is doing.

I'm here and was ready for chat, but I'm also taping the Golden Globes for my niece.  If we have chat tomorrow, I won't be able to attend.  I got talked into going to a performance of "Carmen" in Seattle with a co-worker.  We have to leave Olympia at about 4:30 or so, so that we have time to get dinner.  It'll be fun.

I guess we really might hit our new low - oh, well, we've come close lately so unless there's a posting frenzy later, we're doomed to our new low.  However, what care I about a new low?  The posts we have are cherce and the errant and truant can just bitch-slap themselves from here to eternity.

It's all DR Jay's fault, ordering us, yes ordering us not to post spoilers.  We're all just having to wait until he catches up.

This is kind of interesting.  Der Brucer has the GGs running on his television set, in his room.  I have them running on the set in the living room.  Thing is, Rehoboth Beach is served by two different NBC stations, and there's a half-second difference between one broadcast and the other, don't ask me why.

The effectfect is thatat of an echocho.  Somethinging like hearingring an announcementment on a stadiumdium publicblic addressdress systemstem.

We've had correct guesses, so no clews.  Well, here's ONE little clew - the co-star of the play also had a film career, but it never took off.  The co-star's daughter, however, has had a major film career, having starred in quite a few films.

I have FINALLY gotten my iPod to work, and I love it! The sound quality is amazing, and it has proven to be worth the wait (a month!).

Chat tomorrow night should be ok...hopefully I won't have too much homework to finish up.

How were your days? Everyone feeling OK?

That split-second delay in broadcasting is not limited to Delaware!  It happens here in Pennsylvania all the time. . .I had a double dose of Dubya the other night as he delivered TWO state of the union addresses to this household.

Just returned from seeing a lovely production of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte at Opera Pacific in Orange County.  I took my mom and we had a big hat luncheon beforehand.

Will now catch up on today's posts.

BTW, DR Jay, did they encorporate "Bored" into the score that was used in the film and in subsequent productions?

Negative.

DR Jay - Thanks for the review of Kismet.  -Are there any pics of the Jason Graae with his "chorus line"?

You're welcome!

How I wish!  Unfortunately, no.

It happened to have been Dear Reader Jed, but he just beat me to making the plea.

Seems silly to have the Globes awarded in the Pacific time zone but have the broadcast on tape delay.
