Don't tell TD department:  I had a nice new clerk at Border's today who managed to so totally misscan various coupons that I ended up not just getting one HDDVD at 1/2 price, but the other for 40% off (don't ask me how she did it--I just stood there and smiled), as well as 30% off my regular DVD purchase and 20% off a CD.  She was confused.  I was happy.  :)

Too late. I heard.
I've had coupon problems all week long, and I, too, just smile and let the transaction continue.   ;)

My kind of salesman!  Unfortunately there are some biddies (technical term) at this Border's and they hassle me each and every week when I bring in one coupon from a previous sale and another from my Border's email.  As has been confirmed again and again (and I'm sure you know this), as long as the coupon codes are different, you can use more than one per transaction (as long as you're getting more than one item), but a couple of these older women just do not believe me, even though their manager has told them so.  The girl today, who was brand new (she had to ask how to do just about everything, so I'm hoping she's brand new, anyway) at least didn't hassle me about the various coupons I brought in today.

Is it anything like Faygo Rock and Rye?

No-o-o, DR Ben, but I like that, too.

I LOVE THE ENGLISH PATIENT!

Both the novel and the film are on my short list at Borders for Valentine's Day gifts!

This is the other item on my short list:

(and, YES, we do carry them at Borders)!   :o

Jus popped out for some Fresh air.  I'm back.

I too like the English Patient.
"Atonement" is certainly not in the same class and for me falls apart after the first third..

DP Colin and I watched "Never Ending Story" last night.  I did not like the actor (Hathaway) who plays the "hero" at all.  Just totally lacking in appeal.

I hope to listen to some music by "Southside Johnny" today.  Also some music by Mika and Keane. Sometimes there is some interesting music out there.

I was going to hear Mr Rodney Gilfry sing tonight in the Marlyn Horne Foudation Annual Recital, but I cancelled about an hour ago. I suspect that by 8 pm I'll be unconscious.

It's a pity because last year's recital was quite wonderful, and I was looking forward to seeing Rod and his daughter Carin.  Mr Ron Raines is attending, so he can be my alternate.

I'm hoping the bug bomb is doing its wonders and killing all pestilence in my apartment as I type this.

Perhaps it is a good year for the French:

A French Tennis player makes it to the final of the Australian Tennis open.
A French woman may win best Actress.
A Frenchman wins most creative Banker award.

Hmm... Is that ticket still available?  ;)

-And sorry that you found a bed bug this morning.  I hope the bug bomb does do it's "magic".

In other news... The audition I played today ended up finishing an hour earlier than scheduled - and this was even after we started 25 minutes late since one of the producers was stuck on a train!  They were looking for an Eva for Evita, so I got quite the earful of high belting.  Some OK, some good, and some quite thrilling.

-And since we finished early, I didn't have to "worry" about who was coming in at 3:45PM(EST).  ;)

When we were kids we used to chant "I chased a Bug around the Room".

It doesn't help DR Larry but it enabled us to say a naughty word without getting into trouble.

Maxine took her car to a mechanic.

She told him, "Every time I take any of my friends out in my car, a terrible smell develops!!

"It never happens when I am driving alone!"

This intrigued the mechanic, so he said, "'OK, lets go for a spin ad see what the problem is."

Off they went.

She drove down a one-way street in the wrong direction at 70 MPH, swerved, hit the curb on both sides of the street, narrowly missed three pedestrians in pedestrian crossings, ran several red lights, and just missed a policeman on street traffic duty.

When they returned to the shop, she said, "'There it is now...there's that terrible smell again!

"Can't you smell it?"

"Smell it?" he exclaimed.

"Lady, I'm sittin' in it!"

I don't suppose there will be any near-future good time to ask if any DRs ever played "Cootie" when they were kids.
