you read the book, I'm jealous.
DR DAW is a night owl too.

No, actually just an early riser. :)
Congrats, Michael S!
TOD: Does my performance as Lucy in CHARLIE BROWN at Camp Loyaltown count as "camping?"
And the word of the day is: PINGO!
Yesterday I arrived at the theatre at 5:30....and there was no one in the box office selling tickets. They are supposed to open at 5 so there were some mad people there.
I opened the box office...took care of them...all exchanges of course, no cash money. Ran to the back to unload my car and set up for my rehearsal. Listened for the phone.
My table was gone and all of my stuff was on the floor....the director of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE had decided he needed my table for his auditions in the theatre. My rehearsal dry erase board and easel were also there....
I finally got the person on the phone who was supposed to be there and they arrived at almost six o'clock.....I got everything into the rehearsal space and my chairs set up.
I auditioned.....started my rehearsal....six people were LATE.....two people who had been on vacation had to be instructed in what they had missed....the horse and the burro had forgotten their dance.....everyone was noisy.
All this just to say that I lost my temper last night and finally said: "Would you all just shut and be quiet? It is impossible to work with everyone talking....."
Sorry to read about the health issues, DR Elmore. I hope you can get in to see the doctor and that you get some relief soon.

I am all set and ready to go!
I had to cancel dinner plans with friends. Getting around the Upper West Side is one thing, but I'm not ready for a trek to East 13th Street.
The writing produced I hope a successful scene. We will see at the reading this weekend, It will be a challenge, As this is an one actor play, he will play four different characters and at times 3 of the 4 are speaking alternating lines
I would like to thank everyone for their vibes and prayers for my sister. She just had a follow-up visit with the doctor, and all the tests came back cancer free.

Grumble, grumble....
I just found an attempted delivery slip from FedEx on my front door. I've been sitting here working all morning; if they'd just taken the trouble to - oh, I don't know - KNOCK or RING THE BELL? Zach would definitely have let me know that they were there! It's not earth-shaking, but it's certainly annoying. >:(
It's a little package from Japan, based on bk's recommendation.

I didn't see any of those movies, FJL -- but am I right that he duped a bunch of nice folks in that first film and made fun of them?
Be sure to check out Pink Fish - Andy Taylor is hilarious and the number brought the house down. Thus far, it's the only video with 0 views.

DR Michael S - Have you seen or read Fully Committed?
I doubt it's the same story, but one actor does play multiple roles within the same scene - at least I think that's the way that show works.
Congrats, Michael S!
bk - We just had dinner with Glenn and Wendy Slater last night. What a coincidence.
Glenn is Alan Menken's lyricist for the beautiful "Will the sun Ever shine Again" which bk posted last night.

Breaking news: Fred climbed out of the box and is exploring the room.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Besides my kids, she is my only relative left.
Blue Bunny takes New York with ice cream
By Dave Dreeszen | Posted: Tuesday, July 14, 2009
LE MARS, Iowa -- Thousands of New Yorkers and tourists from around the world will cool off this week with free ice cream treats made in Northwest Iowa.
Wells' Dairy, makers of the Blue Bunny brand, will hand out 50,000 Champ cones today, Wednesday and Thursday in Times Square.
"It'll be great fun,'' Wells' Dairy spokeswoman Liz Croston said Monday. "It gives us a great opportunity to get our product in the hands of thousands of consumers.''
Times Square is one of the busiest spots in the world, with more than 356,000 pedestrians traveling through the world-famous commercial district on an average day, according to the New York City Department of Transportation.
"We're anticipating it won't take long because of the sheer number of people in Times Square this time of year,'' Croston said of the distribution.
Croston and a dozen other employees based at Wells' headquarters in Le Mars traveled to the Big Apple to help out with the giveaway. An equal number of cones will be distributed each day beginning at noon at the corner of 50th Street and Seventh Avenue.
Company reps will be stationed at two spots on the corner, beneath a large Blue Bunny billboard promoting the Champ. In addition to free cones, the company will hand out coupons for a future purchase of a Champ at a retail location.
The frozen novelty, produced at one of Wells' two ice cream plants in Le Mars, the self-proclaimed "Ice Cream Capital of the World,'' features a generous scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream packed on a sugar cone, dipped in chocolate sauce and rolled in peanuts.
The Times Square promotion is being held in conjunction with National Ice Cream Month, which began 25 years ago.
Blue Bunny's giveaway has attracted national media attention. The CBS Early Show has scheduled a live interview with Dave Smetter, the company's senior director of corporate marketing and communications, at the network's Manhattan plaza at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Follow Blue Bunny on Twitter and Facebook this week as the ice cream maker gives away 50,000 free Champ cones in Times Square.
As part of the New York City promotion, Blue Bunny is organzing a "Tweet up.'' Under its Twitter account -- @Blue_Bunny -- the company will send out a series of tweets containing special code phrases. Twitter fans who stop by the cone distribution site -- at the corner of 50th Street and Seventh Avenue -- and mention the phrase will win one of 25 daily prizes, such as T-shirts and stuffed bunnies, said Liz Croston, a Wells' Dairy spokeswoman.

Next I watched today's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. I had to laugh a little bit. Both Rafe and Heather were in the room with Adam. Adam and Heather shared this long, involved steamy kiss. Once she left, Rafe and Adam had a nice little gentle hug, VERY tentative. Talk about a double standard on daytime TV.
I'm uploading five more, including Michelle Nicastro, Chad Kimball, Linda Purl, Andy Taylor, and Alice Ripley.

While i don't see them showing gay relationships being all steamy, in this case perhaps they are trying to suggest that adam is more passionate with heather because he is not gay.
I still haven't totally figured out if adam is repulsed by what he is doing with rafe, or if he is at all confused. And heather and adam were engaged before he went to jail. I also cannot figure out if
he still loves her or if he is totally using her. Before they made his character go downhill he definitely was in love with her. They were the big "it" couple on the show.
I watched two previously seen items tonight and started another one between the two I had already watched.
I began with HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. Since my friend Hal and I will likely be seeing HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE one day next week, I thought I'd take advantage of seeing ORDER OF THE PHOENIX right before the story continues with the next one.
BK, when you watched ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, I hope you chose the PCM uncompressed track. The default is Dolby Digital 5.1 (not TrueHD), and since the movie begins immediately and doesn't give you a chance to pick a sound option, most people don't realize the disc doesn't opt for the best choice of audio codec. I put the disc on pause and chose the best sound option. I don't know why Warners puts lossy codecs as the defaults on an HD disc, but they do (or they did when the HP films were mastered for Blu-ray).

I am actually finding this to be the case with a lot of Blu-Ray discs - they use totally weird audio tracks for the default - on one of them, a more modern film of the last five or ten years, the default was a two-channel stereo - so now I always look at the audio choices or I use the "audio" button on the remote and find the best of them.
DR JoseSPiano - I see that WNYC has purchased WQXR!
BK - I'm having no luck getting your videos to display on one page so that i can do an effective link for the people on castrecl or ATC West Coast whom I'm sure would want to see these.
Our (Skip and my) page looks like this:
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=starfighterllc&view=videos
I can't figure out how to locate an equivalent page for you!!!
Jose - thanks for the tips. I'll have to adjust the keywords on the promotion!
Interestingly, I'm doing a promotion thing on the Sanford video also but out of 85,000 views, i was surprised to see in my "insight" than only 4,472 are from the promotion; the rest they say are happening naturally; they call it "viral/other". I'd love to know where they're coming from, but the insight section doesn't give that kind of info.
Jose, do you know how I could get my videos to display on one page like that? Right now, there are three and you have to click "more" or something, and it's real hard to see.
I've figured it out, FJL. You have the old channel - not everyone has switched over to the new channel design yet, but it will be automatically done with your page at some point. Then your page will look like mine. I just saw the video about the changes, and you can now set what video appears on your channel page when people arrive (mine is currently The Life I Never Led and I'll switch it up every day). In the next few weeks they'll have a customized display options, but right now this is it - no way to display all videos on one page in the new channel thing. I could go back to the old channel, but I'm a new kind of guy.
DR Michael S - From what you've mentioned before, I don't think you're play will resemble Fully Committed as far as the plot is concerned. However, Fully Committed is a one-man show where the one-man plays a whole slew of characters. It's basically set around a restaurant reservationist, so there's lot of characters and character. Something like 40 of them throughout the course of the play.
Are you familiar with I Am My Own Wife? Another show where all the characters are played by one person. -And it won the Tony and the Pulitzer too.
