Edi, have you ever tried a hot bath with a cupful of Epsom salts? Some people swear by it.

I'm back home now, after spending the lovely day pulling ivy off of trees and out of the ground. (I call this my "pulloutese" exercise.) Then when it got dark I came in and did paint scraping in a lot of weird positions that was probably similar to a yoga workout. I would be tempted to take a hot bath but the house is so cold that it probably wouldn't be too relaxing.

That's the only thing my old house has over the new one---a 8 foot claw foot tub. Whoever eventually buys my house will tear it down, but I'm taking the tub with me!!

Here's the proper image for you:

Mmmmmm....that looks yummy! We have a store in Atlanta called Mooncake...it's a clothing store. But I never knew there was a real, edible mooncake!

Like DR MBARNUM and was it JRAND?, one of the things that strikes me about the BRAIN is DR CASON'S fine singing. I was expecting a fine performance, but was pleasantly surprised even so.

KUDOS TO YOU, CASON!!

What she said!

Thank you, Laura, but they hardly compare to your photos that are truly works of art.

DR Michael Shayne's pics of his visit to the Anne Frank house has me pondering my brain trying to remember a play or motion picture in which a character, having made a similiar visit, recalls becoming overwhelmed at reading the famous quote on a sign over a door:  "Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart."

It's driving me crazy, because I know it was something that I saw a number of times.  I'm thinking that it might have been from a one-man show of some kind.  Does it ring a bell for anyone?

It has been wonderful being online with everyone again, at least for a few hours.  Unfortunately, I am in a lot of pain tonight, so it is time for bed. I believe the doctor has diagnosed the problem as wussburgeritis.

Jose, you never said how many of those kitchen items you mentioned were snatched up yesterday; nor did you provide a price list.  If you still have some of those items let me know.

Good Night!

Cillaliz, how old is your niece?

I love going up to North Georgia to see my niece in shows. I think she has a lot of talent. Unfortunately, she also has a "Magic Mommy".

She didn't say anything upon her exit.  Just lots of smiling at the camera as the remaining contestants sang, "Goodbye to Sandra Dee....."

<GAG!!!!!>

I was just saying that since she was already out in L.A. for "Grease...".  Simply conjecture that's all.

DR TCB - Rest, relax and recuperate.

As for the kitchen items... The only things snatched up so far have been the popsicle mold kits.  Everything else is still up for grabs.  I was just thinking of offering each remaining item for $15-20 each.  Which is still quite the deal considering I bought most of them on clearance.  Just tell me what you're interested in, and I'll see what kind of deal I can work out for you.

Perhaps she and all the other cast-offs are obligated to remain in L.A. until they reappear as a group on the final episode?

Good advice, Jane.  We've been there before, so won't be under the pressure to do all the touristy things.  If it works the way I've been thinking today, we'll have 5 nights in DC, then 4 or 5 in NYC.

Ginny---we took the train up from NY after one of my CINE annual meetings. It's a very pleasant and scenic trip.

As we rode along, the views started to remind me of the town I lived in in Maryland for a year. I was describing it to my DH and he said "Did it look like this?" I looked out the window and realized that we were riding right through my tiny little town of Perry Point!

DR Dan the Man ~ Yes, you are correct, it is in a one-man show of "some kind" -- one-woman. In Whoopi: Back to Broadway -- 20th Anniversary (2005 --TV), her druggie character, Fontaine, talks about it after having seen that sign with the quote.  I assume that's the one you may be remembering.

What a day!  Work this morning was fine, no issues (finally) - When I got to Pippin I admittingly had a chip on my shoulder from the fiasco that was last night, but surprisingly, things went well.  I should be able to get through this run without too many more war wounds.  I did not. however, "pedal" the harpsichord as I was instructed to do last night.  In fact, I had refused, but my technique was met with shaken heads and "would you please pedal the harpsichord - it covers up the wrong notes" I was like "well, if I wasn't playing so damn soft and your tempo's weren't so erractic that I have to constantly watch you, maybe  the notes would be right if I wasn't so paranoid!"  -- so today, I sat down, played the passages WITHOUT the pedal and the conductor was like "Yeah, that's right" and I said "Great, and no pedal".  I basically just set the volume pedal at a soft setting and played out... it was wonderful!!!

The Tres Leches cake was met with high regard from my family except my brother who couldn't understand the "milk" concept.

Now to catch up with the posts

I sent my niece the CD of Pippin today since she loves WICKED so much, along with some tap shoes. I've never seen Pippin, but I love the music!

This morning I looked outside my office window, and this is what I saw:

Mourning Doves are game birds here in Delaware - which might explain why so many take refuge foraging in our yard!

They play well with other birds - and their tree-limb cooing is fun to hear.

I'm looking forward to tonight's Grease posts - I'm sure they're a lot more entertaining than the show.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!  My DVR screwed up!  No, really...it did!  It recorded the whole "Grease" show (or so it seems), but when I played it, it played maybe the first 30 seconds and the picture pixilated and froze, then it jumped to the last couple of minutes!  I couldn't watch anything in between. :P
