I'm sorry to hear about the lost day off tomorrow, Cillaliz. It's awful that they don't let you in on the scheduling.

Well, it's a short court hearing and I can do it and still have most of the day off, it's just the lack of respect that gets me

And what if you'd already left for the day by 5pm and missed the email?  Seems crazy. What if you had another meeting scheduled? What if you were out of town?

The cold is getting better, it's just a summer cold.  I slept more last night than I have all week.  I'm relaxing tonight and tomorrow I'll get up, go to court, then come home and start cleaning. I probably would have been drinkng coffee then anyway....

Sometime tomorrow one of the handy men is coming to get rid of all the weeds along my back stone wall and prep the area below that will get a coat of cement next week.  I can't even express how great it feels to get these jobs done or in progress.

MR BK - I guess it's a way of shouting without using capital letters - and might have begun with texting and moved to message boards.

Well, this is an initial, so the Judge would most likely go ahead without me.  I hate that.  It isn't illegal or anything, but I would hate to be the client and have the judge tell me he doesn't know where my lawyer is and that she was sent notice.  It's very annoying.  For the more important court settings, we are usually consulted - well not always, sometimes we just get the date and if there is a problem have to work to change it.

The way they send notice is one of the reasons I have my blackberry, and that's what most of the lawyers do.  That way I can at least get notice and contact the court if necessary.

DRs, my frend Jonathan, who was wonderful as  the Scarecrow in THE WIZARD OF OZ in Canton, has an audition for the New York Musical Theatre Festival tomorrow morning at 9:45. This is his first big audition. Can you send him some vibes?

I'm thinking that ice cream would sooth my throat.   Maybe I'll make a DQ run.

My handy man just called to tell me he's sending his son over tomorrow to finish cleaning out weeds etc to make the yard look good and if I need him to do any other chores while he's here to just tell him what to do.  I'll have to look around and see what needs to be done outside.

I have to pack for our trip out to Stony Brook tomorrow and can't catch up, but wanted to post this adorable clip of my beloved Van Dyke Parks, and our own Grant Geissman!

Woo Hoo, I got a call a little while ago from the FPD who was hired to replace me.  He's going to fill in for me at the hearing in the morning so I can have the day off.  Now I can get up early and dive in to cleaning....or go for a coffee then dive in and clean.  This is so much better.

Grant is at Comic Con this week.  When he's done with that, then we're going to get together.

I'm going to try to get some sleep tonight.  Think I'll try NyQuil again.  It worked last night.  I slept through almost all the storm that left 3.25 inches of rain.  Sweet

The storm was a bust. At least here. Other parts of the valley got rain, I guess.

Well, I've written the bios and held each kitten. I will miss these guys. They were all spitting at me when we met, but they are all love bugs now.

Johnny Depp IS Carol Channing.  No, really.
Of course he is. And she is.
