Well, you've read the notes, the notes came to your attention, and now it is time for you to post until the attention-deficit cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRESCIND!
-
First post after BK.
-
Goodnight.
-
Third post after BK.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Today, I have no plans. If the roads are clear enough, I might go to Eagan's Drive-In because I want to. We'll see what the weather says about that.
-
Otherwise, I'll just stay home and watch more TV.
-
Hello, my iPad ran out if juice, sorry for my sudden disappearance last night
-
Vibes for the snowbound
-
I have a doctors appointment in a coup,e of hours, just a checkup being required by my doctor to renew my meds
-
Good morning, all.
-
Ah, Saturday.
I must needs run down to Cat Clinic in a little while to pick up a couple of things.
-
This evening there’s a memorial event for our theater friend who died last month, at the theater where he probably did most of his acting work over the years.
-
Good morning
-
In some ways, I am still like a little kid.
-
And snow is one of them.
-
5:45 is the latest I could stay in bed without getting up to check the snow.
-
It is still snowing, plus the Artic Winds have started blowing down from the Frasier River.
-
In other words the wind is now blowing the falling snow every which way but loose.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It is still too dark to see much, but since I am up, I made myself a cup of java, and gave Nick his breakfast.
-
Annabelle and Thatch refuse to listen to me when I tell them that Saturday and Sunday are my sleep-in mornings. Some time, between 5:00 and 6:30AM, Thatch began his "Feed me, Seymour" screaming and coercion, They got their chicken and liver and I went back to bed.
-
The winter storm warning is now in effect thru 4:00 p.m. this afternoon for continued snowfall and winds up to 30 m.p.h.
-
DR George, I loved the photos! Neve is quite beautiful. We need more photos of her and Leonard.
-
I have a bit of apartment tidy, then work on How To Succeed . . . and this orchestration of "The Trolley Song" for London. I will not move far from the apartment this weekend.
-
I think it was DR Jane who asked if I couldn’t order the Cincinnati chili supplies online instead of only buying them when I’m there.
Yes, that’s totally possible. It’s just that for me the “real deal” kind of fun is stopping at a Kroger where I can get all the local stuff in “bulk”, and loading the car with it. The price is probably the best available, there’s no tax and shipping, and I simply enjoy the once or twice per year stocking up ritual.
What I never seem to think of doing is purchasing them at the restaurants themselves. I’ll check that out next time, but really, I enjoy the advantages of the large supermarkets.
-
Like DR TCB - I like to get up at all hours and check the progress of the snow....I may have to do that tomorrow.....
Survival vibes for those under the SNOW WATCH.
-
It was nice to see NEVE last night and surprising to find out that DR GEORGE has a second source of income.
George's Cat House.....the best little one in Washington!
-
Which always reminds me of the joke in BELLS ARE RINGING....when Ella gets her customers' names mixed up.....
-
T.O.D.
It was a terrible, stupid movie, but I can't forget ROBOT MONSTER (1953) with George Nader.
As I recall, it was in 3-D.

Did MR BK say he was attending a matinee today?

And good 3-D at that. I saw it in a one-time screening at Eastman House several years ago.

DR TCB I hope that once it stops snowing and the weather dries up a bit maybe your arthritis won't hurt so much.
-
Not only did they use the FORBIDDEN PLANET crew costumes in QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE.....several of the girls wear repurposed costumes from Altaira as well.
Note our young leading lady on the right:

And Miss Anne Francis a couple of years earlier:

One of the producers gave an interview in which he claimed that Miss Zsa Zsa nearly bankrupted them because she refused to wear stock costumes and all of hers had to be custom made....

Stay warm inside and enjoy the view.

The fact that you enjoy shopping and stocking up is important.

Ii looked out the bedroom window this morning and returned to bed. No snow, just frost.
-
We have been keeping our bedroom shutters closed to keep out the cold. Boy did I feel the cold during my quick look when I opened the slats.
-

;D
-
Ann Frances looked great in her costume.
-
Yes she did DR JANE....I liked her character in that film a lot!
-
Of course her couture was really a ripoff of what Vena Ray had been wearing in Rocky Jones for years.

TOD:
Attack of the 50 Foot Woman
Devil Girl From Mars
It Conquered the World
-
Dawn has arrived. We look like the inside of a snow globe.
-
Pretty.
-
Pretty.
Do you have any snow yet, Jane?
-
Puget Sound has disappeared.
-
I won't be going out today.
-
One of the producers gave an interview in which he claimed that Miss Zsa Zsa nearly bankrupted them because she refused to wear stock costumes and all of hers had to be custom made....
Well, when you hire a star. . .
Annabelle would totally agree with her.
-
5 to 8 inches of snow in Tacoma.

T.O.D.

I saw it in 1953 at Seattle's Orpheum Theater, and I made a point of never seeing it again.
:D
-
Pretty.
Do you have any snow yet, Jane?
Now that it is light out I can see what I thought was frost is snow. Nothing like what you have up there.
-
RE: ROBOT MONSTER:
According to the Medved brothers' book "The Golden Turkey Awards", director Phil Tucker attempted suicide after the film was released because critical reaction was so negative. He put a gun next to his head, pulled the trigger, and missed.
-
Keith said it was snowing at 2:00.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about four hours of sleep.
-
My iPad Ran Out of Juice - that's the title of my next novel. Oh, wait, isn't iPad a trademark? I'll have to change it to My Ran Out of Juice.
-
At the most we have two inches of snow.
-
I am so confused that nobody thinks when someone who did something wrong at 20 or 25 (meaning not a crime of course) , but has been exemplary for decades after that, it's a valuable lesson for young people that you can remake your life.
Hope that's not seen as political. I'd just love for people not to feel they have nothing to strive for.
-

MY iPAD, MY EYE sounds like could be a catchy title in the style of MY DARLING, MY HAMBURGER.
-
I think someone actually write a number called "Golda Meir, My Eye."
-
I think that song was NOT used in the Broadway play GOLDA with Tovah Feldshuh.
-
Before you even think of stepping out your door today, consider who lives in these United States, the greatest country in the world, in New York, a hell of a town :)

Madame Rose said it via Arthur Laurents : "New York is the center of New York!" :)
-
DR KevinH had mentioned dinner after 5:00, but nothing's been confirmed yet. I'm waiting for word from my How To Succeed . . . colleague about his plans today. I'm hoping we are still getting together because I have some Dropbox issues I need him to help me with. I'm hoping this does not interfere with dinner!
-
This is very reassuring: "It wasn’t immediately clear where the woman got the bat from."
-
Joshie confirmed yesterday that The New Yorkers recording is definitely on for the end of March. This is great news.

Good morning, all.

So happy for all of you, Elmore, and all of us Cole Porter fans.

I don't think it is a political statement even if it relates to politicians or actors in the news. I agree with you.

I can only think this woman is either mentally ill or on drugs. Either way, this is very sad.

Congratulations!
Super vibes your property is also sold in March!
-
Good news DR ELMORE.
-
My Device Lost Its Juice.....no doesn't have the same pizazz.
-
Headless Body in Topless Bar....
I think that is a very tasteful famous headline....
-
I like your song DR FJL - Golda Meir, My Eye should be the eleven o'clock number in something.
And of course we could also have:
Cher, Sure! (reworked from Dinah Shore, Sure! which closed out of town)
On Your Guard, Hildegarde!
Thar She Blows - Gale Storm!
and of course:
It Ain't Mutton - It's Betty Hutton!
-
Back for a moment - had bacon and eggs and toast for my light breakfast.
-
If we didn't have numerous commitments the next couple of weeks we would probably go to DR Laura's nice warm climate. We could finally meet in person.
Former DR Penny lives within an hour and has hiking trails in her back yard and has a guest room, at least I think she has a guest room.
Our friend Flip also lives not too far away.

Been reading up on trademark law and I'm pretty certain I'm going to use the original title now. First off, who cares? So under the radar and how many copies do we actually sell? Second off, I'm not trying to confuse people into thinking it's an official book about the place, nor is it non-fiction. I've read enough now to think I should never have even brought this up, but someone who was helping me with details told me it was a trademark and I got nervous about it. Stupid me.
-
Not stupid, you need to be careful. Just because you are small doesn't mean a large organization won't go after you.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I was up at about 4 a.m. to bake for an event at the church this morning.
-
Hardly anyone came, so the neighbors are getting muffins.
-
Leonard is running around like a devil is chasing him.
-
He sat in my lap this morning for about three minutes. That's an improvement.
-
I expected my colleague to show up earlier, but he finally arrived around 4:45 with needed music and Dropbox aid. I did miss dinner with DR KevinH and former DR Ben, so that's a pity.
-
Jrand, "Golda Meir, My Eye" looks like it's the fiendish work of Rick Unterberg. (I think from a project he presented at BMI)
I also love his "If You'da Been Judah Ben-Hur"
IIRC, the chorus was
If you'da been Judah Ben-Hur. (2x)
What would you have done, if you'd have been him
If you'da been Judah Ben-Hur
-
Cher, Sure! (reworked from Dinah Shore, Sure! which closed out of town)

Wonderful!
If Dorothy Gale married Gale Storm, it would be interesting, though probably nothing funny.

Oh dear, I'm still not quoting right. Never mind.
A college friend and I invented a game called Cross Works.
It goes like this:
Who starred in My Fair Ark?
Here's an easy one:
Who wrote The Golden Trees?
Discuss.

Oops! Should be The Golden Wake.
Or even Finnigan's Trees.

Back from possibly the worst show I have ever seen and I've seen some doozies.

While we're speaking of Demi and Legrand movies, as regards The Young Girls of Rochefort. The only one who does his own singing is Gene Kelly (maybe also Grover Dale and George Chakiras), in French. But when it was on American TV some 40 years ago there was a dubbed English ST, and Kelly sang on that too.
I actually recorded it on reel to reel with a microphone [!!!]
Anyone if that's available in any format?
-

I agree with you, and youth is a time for making stupid mistakes and learning from them

The English Young Girls is available in a Legrand/Demy set, complete, and includes the complete French and all kinds of cover versions of stuff.

I thought the same thing when I read Liam Neeson's confession. It should be used as a lesson of things not to do so we don't regret them, vs attacking him for his feelings at the time.
-
DR WILLIAM F ORR.....I am thinking about your post but getting no where.....but perhaps it will strike me....
-
Back from the memorial at the theater. His family, who lived just far enough away that they weren’t involved in his theatrical life to any great extent, have been blown away by the love for him in this community, which was their motivation for planning and hosting this evening’s tribute. It was very nice. So was the food and drink after.
-
MR BK was it a musical or a play.....or a plusical?
-
I just watched the Mr Rogers documentary....it was most interesting.

Well that's ridiculous, everyone knows the proper reaction in that situation is to roundly curse out the employees , tell them that you are personal friends with the owner, tell them they are all fired. You can cut yourself smashing windows
-
This is very reassuring: "It wasn’t immediately clear where the woman got the bat from."
It's the Bronx, one naturally carries one at all times in case you run into a situation not serious enough to warrant the use of your gun

We missed you, DR elmore! I had a nice time with Ben and Anthony.
That sounds nice. Hope they are doing well.
-
In from a night of dancing. I should go to bed.
-
Instead, I'm watching an odd oldie called Zaza with Claudette Colbert, Herbert Marshall and in a surprisingly restrained performance, Bert Lahr.
-
Five!
-
Claudette has sung her last notes, and Zaza has ended on a sad note. Nice little forgotten film.

Good evening.

Sorry I have been E & T this evening
-
I have been on the phone with my sister.
-
My brother-in-law is in the hospital.
-
After the phone call I was a little spaced out.
-
So, I forgot the time.

I will try to hurry up and post.

Tom, good vibes for your brother-in-law.

Today, I have no plans. If the roads are clear enough, I might go to Eagan's Drive-In because I want to. We'll see what the weather says about that.
I did go to Eagan's and it was delish. I got my usual Deluxe Cheeseburger and large diet Pepsi.
-
After Eagan's, I went to Costco and got some popcorn and some LED tube lights for my kitchen.
-
Then, I went to my sister's and put up the little cat shelf thingies so that her cats can easily climb up the wall to the top of a dresser.
-
Then I came home and dilly-dallied for quite a while. ::)
-
;)
-
Then, I got an e-mailed saying that tomorrow's reading is cancelled. They'll reschedule based on when people are available.
-
They're going to try to schedule another rehearsal or two, too. That would be helpful.

It was nice to see NEVE last night and surprising to find out that DR GEORGE has a second source of income.

BK, is it just the name that's trademarked, or are you using their logo, like you did with Levi where you just needed to make it look slightly different from the original but still have the same effect?
-
I just watched the Mr Rogers documentary....it was most interesting.
I recorded that on PBS, but it was cut down for their pledge drive. :P
-
George, just the name - we're not using a logo and frankly I don't even know if they have one.
