DR FJL - I thought the internet was just for porn?)

So, I was looking on the innerwebs to see if there might be a show I could take the Goldstein Sisters to see, and I found something called "Avenue Q, School Edition."

It must be a very short show.

*The writers actually did a very nice of "Jr.-izing" the show. Although, it's more PG-13 than G.

Waffles aren't really fried, though, are they.  Better strike that one.  And bring me a plate of the rest.

The chicken on chicken and waffles should be fried.

I have worked on our house for almost 5 hours and it's cleaner than it's been in a long time.  The baked beans in the crockpot are beginning to smell good.  After I have a shower, I'll prepare the ham & turkey platter and await the arrival of my guests at 6pm.

I probably won't get there until 8 p.m. Just keep a warm plate for me. Thanks.  ;D

Trying to figure out what lunch will be - I'm hungry but want to eat a light but fun meal.  Not sure I want the 600 calorie thing at the Daily Grill.  I do kind of have a hankering for Casa Vega - one beef taco, two cheese enchiladas.  That might be fun.  Or Mo's and a chinese chicken salad.  Or Stanley's and some cajun angel hair pasta with chicken.  Or a similar dish at the Eclectic Cafe.  No sandwich today - not in the mood at all.  Or maybe even somewhere new - how radical that would be.

re: yesterday's soft drink discussion.

I don't drink much soda anymore. But my favorites are diet root beer and diet cream soda.  I don't love non-diet. Although sometimes at Costco (a few times a year) I will have their regular root beer (since they don't have any diet drinks i like).  I have never heard of Coke being interchangeable for any cola. And agree with DR Jane if you ask for Coke and they have Pepsi they will let you know.

Coke: this generic term for soft drinks predominates throughout the South, New Mexico, central Indiana and in a few other single counties in Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. ‘Coke’ obviously derives from Coca-Cola, the brand-name of the soft drink originally manufactured in Atlanta (which explains its use as a generic term for all soft drinks in the South).

The South

alligator pear - avocado[2]
banquette (southern Louisiana) - sidewalk, foot-path[2]
billfold (widespread, but infrequent Northeast, Pacific Northwest) - a man's wallet[2]
cap (also Midlands) - sir (prob. from "captain")[2]
chill bumps (also Midlands) - goose bumps[2]
chunk - toss or throw an object[3]
coke - any brand of soft drink[9]

I will not be taking the Goldstein Sisters to see Avenue Q School Edition. Nuh uh.

I was thinking Oklahoma or Music Man or Joseph...Dreamcoat.

It seems as though we will be doing Thoroughly Modern Millie Performance #5 during a thunderstorm.  I will be leaving for the theatre in a bit.

Tonight after rehearsal, I'm off to Walt Disney World.  It seems a little surreal at the moment, as I'm going alone and meeting people there.  I guess it hasn't hit me.

Good Morning, DR Matthew. -And, yes, it was a great pleasure finally meeting you in person last night. Have a good day, a good rehearsal, a good flight, and a great time at Walt Disney World. Enjoy the surrealness of it all. *And if you don't want to wait in line to see "Finding Nemo", just text me. ;)

Each time I've seen "Finding Nemo-The Musical" I've fallen asleep.  Not because of the content, but because it's an air conditioned theatre and a chance to sit down.  My friend Mark does a great impression of me watching the show. (and sleeping)

How far is Disney from where Matthew is staying?  is it really a shlep?

DR FJL - DR Matthew is about a 7 hour car trip from Disneyland in Anaheim. However, tonight he's taking the red-eye to ATL and then to MCO to get to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

What DR Jose said.  I'm meeting a teacher friend of mine and her mother and 2 sons.  She said she needed me to go to "show them around" - like I'm some guru or something!!!   But it was a chance to go to WDW and I got a good deal, so there you go.   However, traveling to WDW alone and not knowing what to expect when I get there is quite daunting.  I've done no prep whatsoever.  Usually, I'd have made dining reservations, mapped out what parks I was going to on what day... this is totally off the cuff - or "commando style" - which in this case does NOT mean what we all think it does!

"doing Disney Commando style"  "Finding Nemo"  - are these euphemisms about a side of Disney that's being kept form the family tourist market?

MOUSE VIBES for DR Matthew.  I'm a sucker for the Disney parks, but it's been several years since I've been in WDW, and I haven't been around Disneyland since before I moved east.  I'll be in L.A. in October and will be taking a day to ketchup on that, and to see California Adventure or whatever they're calling it now.

Back from a good working lunch at Hugo's - the one place that wasn't on my earlier list - go know.  I was a very good boy - small Caesar and pulled pork sandwich.

I have much to do before my 6:30AM flight tomorrow.  I'm going to spend the weekend with my brother & go to my cousin's daughter's wedding.  My brother isn't going to the wedding so I'll be dividing my time with two groups of family.  I won't be seeing Keith's family or friend's this trip.

Keith is holding down the fort, in other words supervising the work here.  I'll be back late Monday night.
