Today, my friend Margo and I have actual tickets (not ushering for this one) to see GOD IS A SCOTTISH DRAG QUEEN 2: THE SECOND COMING!  Before the show, we'll go out for dinner.  It's going to be fun night!

I didn't, but Margo did.  She can fill me in on any details that she happens to remember.

I’m sure you don’t have to have seen the first one.  I was just curious.

I was wondering if I really needed to see the first one, too.

So, today is another 12-hour marathon with our closing performances of SHREK. It will be fun. Robin de Jesus is coming up to enjoy the show at his alma mater as he so often does, but this visit will be especially crazy, what with his nomination.

Today is also something called the Global Big Day or some such — a thing I only know because I have two birders here. People the world over have a big day of bird watching to do, and it involves going around to different locations for it.

Finally, it is the day of the Kentucky Derby — and as always, because of shows, I will be regretfully missing our neighbor’s excellent Derby par-tay. I will make up for it by having him make me a mint julep or three one evening next week.

I leave you all with best vibes for the day, including pain-be-gone and postal vibes for DR Elmore.

You know, hearing these experiences, a person could easily come to believe that NYC postal workers — both the carriers and the inside people — just outright despise their jobs and the residents they serve.

And okay, I doubt it’s a hundred percent of them, and maybe BK would argue for LA taking the prize, but it’s just nowhere near that in many other places.

T.O.D.

Although SINGIN' IN THE RAIN is certainly one of the great movie musicals, I was never a fan of Debbie Reynolds.

I can't really put my finger on it, but there always seemed to be a "phoniness"...a "distance"... about her.

I saw her do her show at her hotel in Las Vegas once.  Yes, she was a good entertainer, but in my humble opinion, not very "likable".

Anybody else feel that way?

If you live near Leesburg, FL, my play, Spencer TRACY, is being staged at the Melon Patch Theatre later this month (May 24-26).

I awoke at 8:00, got dressed, made the bed, and lay down again under Grandma's quilt.  Annabelle and Thatch loved this and played over and under the quilt.  At 10:00 Joshie called me, so I am moving and having my first cuppa coffee.

And I loved Debbie Reynolds.

I hope DR Vixmom feels the same ;)
