What is going on here?  We're suddenly plummeting to a new low?  That's what's going on here?  Skammen (Shame) as Ingmar Bergman would say.  Hopefully, some late-night denizens will show up to put this right.

Danise - I use clicksmilies all the time - if they didn't want you to use it you wouldn't be able to cut and paste them for our site (or any other site).  So, feel free.

Talk about happy doggies!  They were almost knocking him down, they were so happy to see him!

Great news!  :)

I have been thinking about Baby for the past hour or so. I love that cast recording so much. (I was kind of brought up on it.) I would really love to see it staged. To tell you the truth, I'd prefer to be in it. I want to play Lizzie!

Short story: My mom never got to see Baby during its run, but she went to the New York Public Library, where they have the show archives on tape. She had some reason to see the video, so they let her view it. That must've been fun for her! :)

What are the first cast recordings/albums/showtunes to which you were exposed (as far back as you can remember)? I remember my mom singing "It's Not Too Late" from Romance, Romance when I was really young. Also, she and my aunt and uncle (her sis and bro) would put on little shows over Thanksgiving. We have a tape of them filmed during Thanksgiving 1987 where they sang "Matchmaker" and "You Gotta Have a Gimmick" among other songs. I made my mini-debut babbling in my mother's arms as she sang "Home." I thank God that my mom introduced me to showtunes and musical theatre as a young child. I don't know where I would be without it!!

I gave a clue back on page one or two of these posts.  And, read carefully - I don't think I say it's a musical flop.

Go into "Edit Profile" and you'll find a place to attach a pic, as long as it's on your computer.  I could go for a little gazin' at PennyO, so to it.

Hey, Bruce, how was the Courts Hollywood show??? It looks like DR Charles Pogues was less then thrilled with it, but it looked like a pretty good line-up of people...after all Mamie Van Doren was there! Did you get to see her?? I she still "The Girl Who Invented Rock and Roll???

Since I didn't get to go to this one (I try to go every two years or so) I have to live vicariously through yours and Charles Pougue's experience!

OH, and Happy Birthday Dr Noel! Hope it is a great one!

I was gonna write about it tomorrow, but I'm afraid the Pogue is correct - kinda dullsville, man.  Mamie looked fine, Dwayne Hickman looked amazingly good for someone who must be at least in his late sixties.  Kate J. looks like she's had some work done.  Frank Gorshin is one of the most crotchety-looking men who ever lived (and I didn't REALLY say shut up to him - well, I did say shut up, but I didn't know it was him - he was interrupting our waitress who was trying to take our order).  I'll tell you who looked incredible - former playmate of the year Kathy Showers.  She's probably forty-five now and hasn't done anything to herself and she looks splendidly splendid.  On the other hand, Beverly D'Angelo looks pretty blowsy.  On the other hand Kim Darby looks like a little spinster librarian.  On the other hand, Luciana Paluzzi looks pretty good.  I did pick up one piece of original art, what they call a "maquette" - in this case, an original watercolor or goache painting used for the Italian poster of Pasolini's The Decameron.  I don't like the film or Mr. Pasolini, but the art is nice and these things never come up.  That, coupled with the fact that it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up, made it a no-brainer.  I also got an issue of Life Magazine with the most amazing Li'l Abner cover by Al Capp - spectacular.

Okay something bizarre.  I've never heard of CMT, so I assumed we didn't get it here. But when I was looking through my tv guide tonight I saw channel 66, Country Music Television. Only thing is, that I could not find any listing for Cowboy U or any of the shows at CMT.com. I wonder if there is a CMT Canada, the same as we have a Bravo Canada.

Btw, I tried to post this in a minute ago and got an error. That has never happened to me before :(

Penny send the jpeg photo to our email and Keith will fix it for you.  You can access the site when you are here and Keith can upload from here.  He needs to see what it looks like.

I assure everyone Penny looks much better than this picture.

Just curious 1). if this is the artwork that was used on the Image dvd of THE DECAMERON?; 2).  what don't you like about the film?; 3).  You don't like Pasolini! ? ! ?   Not even his poetry?  Not even THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. MATTHEW? ? ?

I'm speechless!  I might not even have a posting frenzy!  I am that stunned.

PennyO, that picture reminds of the style of Laura II's old photo.I like it when it's a little blurred (I am totally serious).

But you can go into a photo program and play with it.  There are a bunch of people who love to play with photos!

You look so glamorous!

Nope, I've just never cottoned to Mr. Pasolini - I haven't actually seen all that much - The Decameron and Arabian Nights and as much as I could stomach of Salo - truly the most vile piece of cinema ever filmed and one that in my opinion should be burned.

I don't think this art was used on the Image DVD, but I can't really remember it that well.  This was used on the large Italian original release posters.

The Image artwork:

I've seen most of Pasolini's work - quite a bit of it while I was in college - and yet, I find PORCILE to be more troublesome than SALO, but, I also cannot recommend SALO to any uniformed viewers.  It is a rough, rough, tough movie to sit through.

I kind of liked TEOREMA, but his others were just not very entertaining to me. ARABIAN NIGHTS must have been a terrible print because it was so dark I could barely make out what was happening. I saw it at a revival theater

I just popped in after watching a disappointing episode of Stargate.  Goodness it is quiet here.  I stop by later when I let Echo out one last time for the evening.
