As far as being underdressed, it has also been my experience that after people have had a glass of wine or two, it really doesn't matter...

Hope that hold true tonight!

Egg creams will be made at the after party, as well.

I think if I had gone through what DR Elmore has, I would be a basket case.

I am a basket case!

Okay, now I'm out.

Hmm...  So...

When I stepped outside earlier, I found out the handyman was working on the place next door - which also happens to be where our property manager lives.  It looks like he's pretty-ing up the stoop - which entails sanding down the concrete steps, which, of course, means that there is a big cloud of concrete dust hovering in the air outside our apartment.

And after thinking that I had smelled something funny in the apartment a few minutes ago, I realized that one of the burners on the stove was still "on" - with no flame...  So, now I have the french doors to the backyard cracked a little to let in some fresh air, and to let out the bad stuff.  Alas, the culprit has a (bad) habit of doing this from time to time.  However, the culprit is not that roomie, so...

Ah, well... Every day a little death.

If we figure out where we're going, might FJL/Skip like to join us?

Hmm... Maybe we could all meet at the Little Pie Shop... Each order a different pie (small or medium)... Then just set them down in the middle of the table, and dig in... Silverware could be optional.

OH!  You found Le Pain Quotidien!  Guess that's one place you can cross off your list!  :)  *And Petrossian is basically across the street from there, isn't it?

They are all over the place---we went to the one by Lincoln Center. I remembered that we had been to one of these places a few years ago, probably north of this one but I hadn't remembered the name of it.

The one in LA does have a much larger brunch menu--omlettes and such, and the wait staff seemed friendlier, but this still was certainly yummy.

And I think the one in LA is cheaper---our bill for breakfast was over $40 dollars for 2 quiches, 2 lattes and a croissant. But it was mmmmm mmmm good!

My DH has a new tie! Two actually! One was "Ralph Lauren" and the other was a silk "Mizrahi"--$4! Doubt if they're the genuine article, but they look nice, so...

DR Tomovoz, kudos on losing 20 pounds. Usually when I've bragged about that, I was in England.

And a lovely new avatar, too!

There's actually another one or two up in DR elmore's neck of the woods.

Some of the locations here in the City are bigger (or smaller) than others, and offer more (or less) menu items.  There's a huge one a few blocks below Union Square that even switches to Table Service in the afternoon.

As for your $40 lunch tab... Are you sure they didn't spike your lattes with something?  *Although, I still sometimes have to get used to the restaurant tax here in NYC, so...

Back from some errands.  She of the Evil Eye has left and now I shall start writing, and also wait for Mr. Handy Man to come plug this big square hole that's giving me the willies.

You'd never know we've been having rainy, gloomy weather - it's like a summer day today - thus Los Angeles, California, USA.

No postings in over an hour and I'm the only one in the jernt.  That's just great.  I see that a proper bitch-slapping is in order and it's going to be a powerful one.

As for the questions about the Barrowman autobiography.  None of the issues raised by our DRs appear to be in the index or the timeline.  I guess time will tell!  [And time ain't talkin' yet!]

Mr. Handy Man won't be here till three.  I've written a little more than half the pages I wish to do today.  Perhaps I'll just bang out the other three or so right now and be done with it.

We did indeed partake of the fine hospitality of DR Ben and his Ant. I think I could spend several days just looking at all the interesting items that decorate their apartment. They live in a very cool neighborhood; we walked around it a bit before showing up there.

The purging has begun!  Well, at least I finally placed two ads on craigslist in order to start freeing up some shelf-space in my room.  My roommate just sold his spare keyboard last week - and the post had only been up for a day.  And he got $900 for it!  So I'm hoping that his selling karma will help me move some of the cookware (still in boxes and never used) that I've accumulated over the past couple of years.

And as my W-2s start to come in...

Hmm, I guess I did play some of the auditions for the current revival of Grease... I really had forgotten about those.  :-\  ;)
