And thanks to DR RLP I too have been able to enjoy Richard Harris's reading of JLS.

So long ago!

If Judy Jetson married Howdy Doody, she would be Judy Doody!

You know, this referenced post WAS at the top of page 6....and SOMEBODY did a delete and my post went to the bottom of page 5...and I had to delete my "Page 6 I won't dance dance".

Grrrr.

IF Judy Jetson had lived in Salem at the time of the witch trials, she'd likely have been called Goody Doody.

Say THAT name six times very fast!

Well, folks, the ROUTE 66 DVD arrived.  The news is not good.  The transfers are DARK, although I can't speak to whether they are the full episodes or not.

I only checked the first disk and the sound quality of two of the shows is terrible....a great disappointment.

OTH - WITH A SONG IN MY HEART is very good, with nice crisp colors (a bit dark) and sound.

I enjoyed the extras about Jane Frohman, I only knew about her life from the movie.

No commentary.  But Drew Casper shows up in the documentary....to no great effect.   Why do they keep using him?

That's DR. Drew Casper to you, PLEASE!

Obviously, he's giving them something they want or need. Otherwise, there are plenty of other experts they could call upon.

The day certainly has not been dragging for me. It's been crammed full from the moment I got on-line this morning.

If Howdy Doody ate a dowdy-
Have no doubt, it would be rowdy.
When he sees what he has done
He'll up and down another one.

I began my afternoon by watching last night's LIFE, and I'm happy to say I found it the best episode of the season that I've watched. (I think I've only missed one.) Superb mystery, exciting conclusion, and some tense stuff with Crews' personal investigation, too.

Next, I watched Ingmar Bergman's SAWDUST AND TINSEL. Full of angst like so many of his movies, and an interesting and rather woeful triangle at its center. There's a fight scene late in the picture that's one of the most frightful beatings I can remember seeing in a movie that had nothing to do with boxing.

This is a Criterion-lite release. Apart from a commentary (haven't listened to it yet) and a Bergman introduction, there aren't any other special features.

It was most effective...from the git-go, too.

Loved the corpse.  Wonderful!

Damian Lewis is an amazing actor, too!

Eeuwww!

Some of us have fond memories of having Frozen Hot Chocolate HERE after spending Thursday in the Park with Jose about a year ago.

Well, I guess it's time for me to head back down and continue with Mr. Bergman's film.

I cleaned the bedroom areas today, so I can give the rest of the evening over to viewing.
