Remember my kvetching last night about Dayton Opera ticket prices?  One of my book group friends sings in the chorus and offered Richard and me the 2 free tickets she gets for the dress rehearsal!

Kvetch and ye shall receive!

I just hope you won't need another new oven and countertop after this weekend.

I grew up eating oxtail stew and it was fantastic.  I only made it once & learned what happens if you use too much barley. ;D
No barley in my recipe. Just onions, red wine, seasonings, garlic and shallots. And oxtail.

I was twenty when I made it & can't remember if there was wine.  Try adding some barley next time just don't add too much.  By the next morning is had absorbed all the liquid. ;D
Barley and the human liver.

Served with fava beans and a nice chianti?

Oh...

And sad to hear about the passing of playwright, Lanford Wilson.

*Especially right after Helen Stenborg had passed. Helen was in the original cast of three of his plays: The Hot L Baltimore, The Fifth of July, and Talley and Son.

I have no idea. Nor did she. She says the most bizarre things while doing her taxes.

I used to do our taxes  but it caused me to say bad words  so now Vixdad does them

Since I'm riding into work tomorrow morning with my friend and host, David, and since he gets up quite early, well...

Goodnight.

vixmom - The owners of All that Chat have treated me disgracefully, but the people there overall have not, and it is the main chat board in NYC to discuss specifically theater.

I ate some frijoles with cheese and salsa for dinner - 300 calories and no fat grams.  I'm ready to vomit on the ground.  Listening to the release that will follow Monday's release two weeks later - what music!  And the film is probably a personal favorite of some genre lovers around these here parts.

At Cannibal! rehearsal tonight, we danced and danced and just when we couldn't dance anymore, we danced.  We essentially learned most, but not all of the song, "Hang the Bastard!"  It took three hours and we still didn't finish.  We have about 16 bars of music, then it's all choreographed.

I remember watching the TV version of Hot L Baltimore when we lived in Colorado.  I was eight or nine years old. :)

Oh, i didn't mention that I got an email from the newspaper today telling me that my movie pass had arrived at the theater and that they were giving me an extra month...until the end of April 2012!!  So, I took the pass I got in the mail (that expired March 30) and traded it for the pass that expires April 30.  cool beans

That's great!  Congrats!

Those leopard-spotted leggings were fabulous, by the way.

I thought of you as soon as "George " came out in them

I wouldn't be caught dead in those!!

I only wear ruffles.

Today at work, we had a chili cook-off.  There were nine different versions of chili.  I brought my sister's vegan chili, someone brought chili that had cashews, and someone else even brought chili with lamb.  Most were pretty good and a lot of chili got eaten.  Some of my sister's was left over and I'm taking that home so I'll have food for the next several days. :)

Do you have a medicine cabinet stocked with Tums and Bean-O too? ;)

Nope...I like to live dangerously. :D

Somehow I failed to mention that tonight was opening night for The Wedding Singer at the Vixter's school - she plays assorted wedding guests, one of the "Losers at Table 9" , an old lady in the shopping mall and the Cyndi Lauper  impersonator.

Cool!  Leg Breakage for the rest of the run!!
