Good morning, all! I slept very poorly, so I know that after my day of errands, I will want to fall over when I get home around 3:30 today.

I foolishly agreed to deliver the new CDs to a few of the acknwledged people, rather than have them shipped by New World Records, so that's my day: the Cole Porter Trust gets two, and one to Alyce Mott, who works with the Victor Herbert Foundation and edits a fascinating newsletter. She's been very helpful and supportive of these two reocrdings of piano & cello and songs.

Yesterday I got through all most Act Two of the DEAREST ENEMY vocal score, so I have the Fibale Act Two and Epilogue left. Before I head out, I'll try to finish up the Finale Act Two.

I hate this weather: warm enough that I'm sweaty and sleeping badly, feeling puny, uncertain how to dress for going outside, and generally discontent. I'll be glad when the freezing cold lands.  I want this apartment cold enough to hang meat.

I guess the advantage of being a registered Democrat this week is that I won't get Mitt or Newt calling me. Newt's in Manhattan at the moment. Our loss is the world's gain.

Coffee and meds,

Elmore, I like your reasoning on registering Democrat, except for the fact that I've been an independent since I first registered to vote. Plus, I like telling the people from their campaigns what I truly think of the candidates they support. I don't know if ears of the woman from the Cain campaign are still ringing, but I tried my best.

Plus, I get to do that with candidates of both parties.

Do you have any brand suggestions, good or bad?

I think the brand i have is Leader. But if you buy them anywhere but at your pool the person there should know something about goggles. And you can try them on and see how they feel.

Can you bring your glasses into the pool area and then just take them off and leave them in your bag right before you go in?  What do you do now (i'm assuming you don't swim with your glasses on)?

I guess you just got used to swimming without goggles and i got used to them at a young age. My eyes are very sensitive. I can't stand getting chlorine in them. I actually swim with a nose plug too. I can't stand getting water in my nose. :)

Believe it or not I have been swimming with my distant glasses on.  I needed them for the aquatics class I took & then just left them on while I swam afterwards.  I liked being able to see & I'm not diving in them.  I feel more secure walking around the pool area with them on & not swimming into a person I didn't see in time.

I've not heard of Leader.  If I don't find any locally that I like I will check the brand out on line.

Oh, and I do leave my bad near the pool & I might be forced to leave my glasses there if I have goggles.  I walked a short distance with my glasses off yesterday after my swim & did ok.

When I read the book I couldn't put it down.  I begged Keith not to begin it on the weekend as he would be lost to me.  Of course he didn't listen & ignored me until he finished reading it.  The movie impressed us as it was so true to the book.  Of course years later they had to add more action to the remake.

Bk, Margo Hanson (the replacement pit singer) is married to Chuck Israels, a wonderful bassist who started teaching at Western Washington University when I was there.  I pretty sure that Margo also taught voice there.  Anway, I was in Chuck's jazz choir and got to know him and Margo.  I don't know if she remembers me, but if you read this in time and you have  a chance, please tell her that I said hello, and hello to Chuck, too. :)

Why is it people feel the necessity to make a comment on the OTB episode page that they find episode three not as sparkling as the first two - and then say one of the reasons is that it doesn't have a tap number?  What is the POINT?  Not every episode is going to please every person - so what?  If someone would like to rebut it feel free.  I could remove it, but why?  It's funny to me, since the reaction everywhere has been overwhelmingly positive, especially on Facebook.

I had a turkey sandwich and onion rings, am not going to get to jog, picked up one package, and bought a new phone system.  My old was behaving very strangely and has been for the last few months - and the batteries in both handsets were dead and it would have cost thirty bucks to replace them - this new AT&T system has four (instead of the two I have) handsets, and many more features and it was only thirty bucks more than the batteries.

Back from the meal but couldn't eat at the usual place because they decided, at 6.45pm (!) that they were too busy to serve meals. I've not been to any other city in Europe, other than London, where bars arbitrarily decide to suddenly withdraw menus because they want to concentrate on what they see as their prime business i.e. serving drink. We found a small restaurant nearby and I had spinach and mushroom soup, followed by liver and bacon which was OK but not great.

I am back from a two-hour catch up at Artie's with our DR PennyO, who's in Manhattan to see our friend Zach's production of Mozart's COSI FAN TUTTE tomorrow night at Manhattan School of Music. Since my goddaughter's mother is directing the production, I too will be there tmorrow night. Perhaps my beloved Charlotte will be there as well.

PennyO looks absolutely gorgeous and it was fun catching up on the events of the past several months since last I saw her.

Say hi to PennyO for me.

It may not matter.  Some of our e-book titles can't be checked in early!  Some get up to a three-week check out period and they only expire after that three week period...even if you finish it in one night. :P I think that most can be checked in early, but not all.

This may not be the most professional video I have ever seen, or the best lip-synching; but it appears to be from the heart.  It was done by the crew of the HMS Ocean when they found out they would be home for Christmas,

I believe that if you register as an Independent in Washington State, you can't vote in the primaries.
I'm sorry, but why would I vote for one of these clowns that the GOP has put on display so far?

I had to ask the librarian how to return a book early.  She in turn had to have someone call & explain it to me.  Even though I return it on my Adobe Digital Editions site it doesn't always disappear from my Nook.  I have 3 different time options for taking a book but have it set at 21 days in case I need the book that long.  I always attempt to return the book once I'm done reading it.

There are 5 copies of this book, still that is one long queue I'm in.

My guess is, he got lost in the traffic and, as he seems wont. ended up in the gay cruising area of some park or rest area near Salem.  I suspect he's ether dating a truck driver or sitting in jail.

DR Sam sorry about your boss' wife :(  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

DR cillaliz, can you see who is calling by looking at call display? (not sure if all politicians put private number or something like that so people will answer).

No, but they are almost all from the 515 area code and I don't live there.  There are also the unknown calls, most people don't answer those.  Usually pollsters.   Today I got a call from some unknown person saying he really loves Mitt Romney...like I care.  And from the gun lobby of some sort saying Newt voted against gun ownership.  Oh, and a pollster, I hung up on him.

It's the same here, but you can change your registration at the caucus or at the polls, so people change parties a lot here.  I'm sure there will be many new Republicans caucusing for whoever they thing Obama can beat the easiest.  Just how it goes

Today Ricky....well I'm assuming it was Ricky....managed to spill a glass of water into a powerstrip.   I had the glass covered and just forgot to take it to the kitchen this morning.   Anyway, the power strip did what it should have and shut off. Don't know what happened exactly.  and to make matters worse, the smoke detector battery was going dead so it was beeping. When I got home, I replaced the battery and cleaned up the mess from the water.   I was mad at first, but Rick has wanted to be on my lap all night, so I'm thinking he had a rough day

Then I had to watch a motion picture to figure out how the music for our CD works and to give the tracks titles - which I did.  We've got more music than I thought, and while it took some figuring out and rearranging, it's going to be a really fun first half of the album (the second half is a score by the same composer in the same vein).  So, other than some bonus material, this one's just about figured out.  I think fans of the composer and the film will be very happy, even though we really only have half the score.  Luckily, there is a lot of repetition and we have many of the cues and overall it's a good representation.  When another label did something similar with X: The Man With The X Ray Eyes, they only had one tape out of two - but unlike ours, most of their tape was source music and not dramatic score - I think in the end they only had about eight minutes of actual score out of their eighteen minutes.  We've got all dramatic score and without the bonus tracks we've got at least twenty-four minutes - with the bonus, closer to twenty-eight or thirty.

When I saw recent 25th anniversary filming of The Phantom of the Opera and it had technical difficulties throughout the first act, we were given a "rain check pass."  I've decided to use it tomorrow (Wednesday) for a Met Broadcast of Philip Glass' Satyagraha (http://www.metoperafamily.org/metopera/season/production.aspx?id=9251).  I bought the album when I was in college and just loved it.  Granted, I haven't listened to it in quite a few years, but I'm looking forward to actually seeing the whole show. :D
