Rodzinski, I echo Woody's advice:

READ THE BOOK!  I think Goldman actually did a very good adaptation for a book that is very hard to adapt.  Unfortunately, many of the most wonderful things in the book the running commentary and  Goldman's asides on the "Good Parts" version as opposed to the unedited Morgenstein version and just his wonderful prose style couldn't have been successful captured in a cinematic adaptation.

It is a book I used to keep several paperback copies of just to pass out to friends.  My first edition is one of my most prized books.

I almost always find the book better than the movie (I noted earlier my one exception) and PRINCESS BRIDE, the novel, is way, way better than PRINCESS BRIDE, the movie.

I've said it many times, but I feel the best book to film is Rosemary's Baby.  That film is literally the book (with exactly one little scene missing - they shot it and cut it - it was a throwaway early on in the film.  

There are many terrible book to film adaptations, one of the worst of which is the remake of The Stepford Wives.

The IMDB for Deceit is up, but missing much information. Hopefully in the next  2-4 weeks it will be complete. Cast, writing and the tech credits are missing. Don't know why they were omited.

During the last walking and eating tour, I had to leave early and missed the Chelsea Market.  That's on my list of places to go, but don't know if I'm up for the whole walking and eating tour either.

That's really cute. It reminds me of the way Nilla would decorate the house with socks.  I know for sure it was him, now, because it has stopped completely.

I had some good brownies & gingerbread men cookies there.  I also had terrible Thai food.  Had I known Fred & Skip were going to serve us a such a tasty feast I would have passed on the Thai food.

It's full of low G's and A's... sometimes I have an A, barely. Ah, well. It was fun to audition for John and Lee. I guess this means I still have to go to San Antonio and drive that rig back... sigh...

Nah,  I quit for now. I may get it out again tomorrow and play with it some more.  I think I need to approach it from a different angle next time

I"m kind of ticked at myself today. I can't find the battery charger for my good camera.  I think I may have enough juice left to photograph the crazies tonight, but it isn't going to last forever.  Maybe Best Buy has a replacement charger. It probably wouldn' hurt to have two of them

Very disappointed not to receive the Film Noir Collection 3 box today. I really thought it was get here, but I have to remember the mailman doesn't like to lug around boxes on Saturday. I guess I have enough to keep me busy until Monday.

I agree about GONE WITH THE WIND film improving on the book.

With GREAT EXPECTATIONS, I love the movie dearly, but I would have liked just a bit more of the book's latter half.

I had several telephone calls this afternoon, all fun and informative. I only had time for one film - the laserdisc of A WOMAN'S FACE.

I had only seen this movie once prior to today, so imagine my surprise to be reminded that the supporting cast included MGM stalwarts like Marjorie Main (not playing her usual  outrageous character but a much more buttoned-down woman), Reginald Owen, Donald Meek, and Henry Daniell. One of Joan's best at MGM by far.
