I have a theory about Lost:  the Others are--you ready for it?--the New People!

SPOILER POTENTIAL:

What new people?  Do you mean that the survivors of the flight were alone and then others arrived and are the "new people"?

Confused am I.   A private IM on this might alleviate anxieties of others who don't want to think too much about it.

It is such a rotten day!  I've been waiting for a check from Ms Prince as well as my publisher, but once again NADA!  Pisses me off; I hate begging employers for what's due to me.  I have a headache, the Chicago project is driving me mad (a short drive, as my friends know), and I'm sick of being wet.

Crap.

Having lived in his home environment for 3 days, I can assure you that "crap" is not the strongest language being used by our friend Elmore3003! LOL!

Potential SPOILERS about Last night's "Lost":

The show is really expanding its storylines into strange and unusual realms.

I'm fascinated...especially by the "other" underground structure where our castways were taken.

Did anyone get a little concerned about the fact that there "were" 23 of them but there don't seem to be that many left any more?  Were they EATEN, perhaps?

If they had to do a last, final series episode right now, I'd recommend that the final shot be of all the survivors in a hospital, hooked up to various machines where they've been since the plane went down.

And of all the passengers on the flight's manifesto, the only ones who didn't survive were the ones in the seat numbers that match that set of numbers that plagues Hurley and that pop up all the time.

MORE SPOLERS

Jack and the new chick were in two of Hurley's #s She was in row 42 and he was in row 16 with others.

For the Sondheim fans out there

The second volume of Sondheim Sings, like the first, includes newly remastered demos from the composer-lyricist's private collection. A 40-page color booklet will accompany the CD.

The track listing of "Sondheim Sings: Volume II (1946-60)" follows. The "Steve Greets Ockie" tracks refer to a brief Christmas greeting Sondheim recorded for his mentor Oscar Hammerstein II in 1943.

1. "You're Only as Old as You Look" (1955)
2. "Do I Hear a Waltz?" (from Do You Hear a Waltz?, 1960)
3. "Pour le Sport" (from The Last Resorts, 1956)
4. "Men" (from By George, 1946)
5. Steve Greets Ockie 1 (1943)
6. "What to Do at George School" (from By George)
7. "How Do I Know?" (from Phinney's Rainbow, 1948)
8. "When I Get Famous" (from Climb High, 1952)
9. "A Star Is Born" (1954)
10. "I Remember That" (from Saturday Night, 1953)
11. "In No Time At All"/"A Moment With You" (from Saturday Night)
12. "New York Song" (from The Clock, 1953)
13. "The Girls of Summer" (from The Girls of Summer, 1956)
14. "I Wouldn't Change a Thing" (from The Last Resorts)
15. "Ten Years Old" (from The Fabulous Fifties, 1960)
16. "High Life" (from The Last Resorts)
17. "Where Do I Belong?" (from Climb High)
18. "Bitterness" (from By George)/Steve Greets Ockie 2

I thought about the cannibalism aspect of the survivors, too, DR Ron. Should be interesting revelations in the weeks to come.

VERONICA MARS continues to be fascinating, wonderful, mysterious, eventful, and FUN! So many surprises on last night's show.

And DR Jennifer, you should have some of your questions about the name on the hand explained by this week's episode.

Yes, I'd say ANYTHING GOES is one of the real turkeys of 1950s movie musicals. A lot of talent there and not much of what they do is worth watching.

What's a worse 1950's musical than this one? MEET ME IN LAS VEGAS perhaps? Or JUPITER'S DARLING?

I finally managed to get back on the writing track - not much, but something, and I sketched out the next couple of sections of the story, plus I went back through what I'd already written and smoothed out a few things, so that felt good.

I had one count them one package, which contained two count them two CDs, one of which will be of particular interest to Pogue.

I saw earlier today that British playwright Harold Pinter has won this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.

Much deserved, but I will never forgive the Nobel committee for not recognizing either Tennessee Williams nor Arthur Miller for their lifetime of work.

What?  "Jupiter's Darling"?

ANYthing with Esther Williams swimming...and underwater statuary coming to life...has got to be better than "Anything Goes" the Movie!

Is anyone other than me becoming EXTREMELY concerned about "bird flu"?

I have enough problems as it is with crapola in the air...and the idea of a potentially fatal airborne virus (that would affect many of the same bodyparts as the "sensitivities" I suffer do) has me wondering what precautions I might begin considering.
