Exactly!  And singer in question was a "he".  However, the "she's" this afternoon continued to challenge and frustrate me - and everyone else in the room. :-\

Time to get dinner on the table.

Poached chicken breasts - using a couple of cups of the stock I made for the poaching liquid, and then re-using that liquid to cook...

The rice, which will be augmented with some scallions, ginger, and a little mint.

And some more stock will help sauce some stir-fried bell pepper strips and onion.

I have to say, it's time like this when I'm so thankful to have some wonderful friends.  Today was a very frustrating day - one of those days where I felt like leaving the business as soon as I left the room.  But after a phone call, a text, a dinner with a friend... :)

And I met the new store manager, a pleasant fellow named Mike.  The good news is that he isn't coming in assuming he knows everything about running this store.  Instead, he's listening to everyone - including me - on how things are running now.  He was particularly interested when I pointed out how the placement of the self-scan registers very close to the entrance/exit has led to customers using whoever is monitoring said registers as a resource, asking where they can find various items in the store.

"So, that makes you a greeter, as well."

I do like it when a new boss catches on quickly.
