Poor Tonya!  She went to a casting call for SKATING WITH THE STARS, but they decided she couldn't skate well enough, and she definately was not a celebrity.

 ;D ;D

Whenever I hear that old song Roller Derby Queen it makes me think of her!

I must have missed all the hoopla  about THE BOOK OF DANIEL. Is it a new series? Since The Amazing Race and Survivor ended I haven't watched anything on television so haven't seen any previews.

SWW, what is The Dinosaur Musical?
The Dinosaur Musical is a new work by the composer and lyricist of A Year With Frog and Toad.  It is receiving it's premier engagement at the Arden Theater in Philadelphia, and has been getting great reviews (see link).  Since the lads have enjoyed the F&T cast recording in the car, der B and I agreed that this would be a great way to introduce them to live theater.  I'll be able to give a better report after we see the show, of course.

...And can we ever see a minister on TV that doesn't live in a mansion?...
Oooh, yeah, let's have a series about a minister who lives in a trailer park!  We'll call it Tornado to Heaven!

 :D

Let's not go to the other extreme either... but hey can't the minister live in the three bedroom ranch house next door to the little church that seats 250 instead of in a mansion down the road from the church that rivals St Pat's in size and architecture?

And maybe he could drive a five year old Ford and maybe his wife could look old enough to have actually given birth to the passel of teenagers in the house. sometime after she turned 12

Why are there no TV shows about Rabbis and their families?

And the only movie I can remember about a Rabbi's family is The Chosen,. and the Rabbi wasn't the central figure in that.

Thanks for the vibes, vixmom.  Things at work are slowly improving.  My job title has been revamped slightly, giving an older employee her due in rank, which I have no problem with.  The only problem was that they waited two weeks to actually inform me of this.  In fact, I had to go hunting for the info after the my new co-lead asked when her planning times would be in relation to mine.  Bad leadership, says I.

I'm glad the vixter likes the WITA arrangement.  If you'd like, I can send you a recording of my performance.  Not my best one, but not bad.

Media check: An Arthur DVD in my laptop computer.

Today was another long day of class. We watched a video with people speaking in tongues and throwing snakes. It was... interesting. Seven days down, five to go.

I agree.  Sounds like some wuss afraid that you would put up a fuss about sharing the planning!

DR François - You have a very good memory.  -I actually still have that Lambert Wilson CD in my collection, but I haven't listened to it since the second time I listened to it shortly after I bought it.  I had to listen to it a second time just to make sure my ears and sense of pitch hadn't gone awry.  ;)  -And, if I'm recalling correctly, I found the CD in a cut-out bin at Tower Records... That should have been my first clue.

And as for Sunday In the Park with George en français... I believe part of that "fee" had/has to do with the amount paid to/charged by the translator - and the subsequent royalties due to whomever gets the credit.  Heck, if Pacific Overtures could be done in Japanese, and Sweeney Todd in Catalan...  And something tells me that Sondheim and/or his lawyers would not charge an exorbitant amount for the translation/production... But I could be wrong.

*I also have to wonder if the Chicago Art Institute comes into play now since they own the rights to the painting now.  -Well, at least it's in their collection.

DR SWW and DerBrucer - Yes, I know Donna Migliaccio.  In fact, I've known here since she was Donna Lillard (her maiden name).  She was one of the original founders of Signature Theatre.  I did Into the Woods with her, she was The Witch, and Sunday in the Park with George at Arena Stage.

-It's nice knowing that she's branched out of the DC market.  She got a nice break after doing Guys & Dolls on tour when she got cast as Claudia Shear's understudy on the Dirty Blonde tour.  And the tour was even "her's" for a couple of weeks.

-And I don't think I've seen her since the Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration....Wow!  That's been three years already!  -Although, I'm pretty sure we've crossed paths since then.  -She likes to rub my head...well, my hair.

We'll have a gay old time!

:)

It was a very successful Out Night At Arena.  A truly wonderful audience.  Not everyone in the house was GLBorT, but there were at least 100 people there that were part of the series.

Thankfully, there were no cat-calls during the locker room scene.. ;)  -However, there was a sense of "stunned silence" in the house.  ;)  But there was a great response during the courtroom scene when Sister is trying to get away from the Court Room Guard, "Get off me, you Republican!"  -Yes, that's the original line....  There was a true roar in the house.  The Commissioner had to hit his gavel a couple of times to quiet down the "court room".

After the show, they had a very nice reception in the Old Vat Room - Arena's black-box space.  Almost "everyone" showed up - it was a very crowded room.  Beer, wine, sodas... Cheese platters, mini-crabcakes, chicken satay, and "pouffy" pigs-in-a-blanket (breakfast sausages wrapped in puff pastry).  After some mingling, there was a brief Q&A session with the cast.  OH!!...

But before the Q&A, the "men" of Damn Yankees had a special presentation for the assembled throng.  They customized one of the songs, "The Game", for the evening, for the crowd...  "You've got to think about The Gays..."  It was very funny.  Very cheeky.  Very raunchy -but in a very good-natured sense.  -I'd print some of the lyrics here, but since this is a family site...

All in all, a very good evening, and I had a couple of friends in the house tonight too.
