And if you look at that photo Jose posted of our Musso and Frank gathering, where I look like a beached whale, I think one can definitely see how much weight I've lost in these.

Oooohh....  Mac and Cheese Pancakes.

:)

I found that fascinating for some odd reason (maybe because I just drank some Jack Daniels).  Have you tried them?

I laughed when I read that...somehow I just cannot envision you drinking Jack Daniels, Jane... some nice herbal tea after a hike, yes;a nice bottle of wine, absolutely; but sweet Jane  shooting Jack... nope - the mind won't stretch that far!
  :D

While Keith added ice to his, mine was straight.   I love Glenlivet or a good brandy, & Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry.   They are all oh so good.  Unfortunately I have a very low tolerance & can only drink a little at a time.

I had the same reaction!  Although I have had an adult beverage with DR Jane, once upon a time in NYC. I was also fascinated watching the Mac and Cheese pancakes. I think I need to take a walk

When did you become an afternoon drinker - and sour mash at that :D

I can drink the good stuff almost any time of the day.  Of course I don't, but I could.

DR Cilla, did I giggle all the way back to the hotel after said adult beverage?  I also recall you treated me to the delicious beverage.

Actually, I haven't.  However, I have tried some of Arnold Shopsin's other at-his-whim creations, each of them unexpectedly delicious in their own special way. ;)  Alas, I have yet to eat at the "new" Shopsin's in the Essex Street Market.  Each time I've gone by there, he's closed up shop unexpectedly expected.  ;)

*The accompanying article about Arnold Shopsin and his restaurant/food counter is also a good read.  A true Character.

Usually whenever you describe something edible, Jose, my stomach begins urging me to immediately locate and consume said delicacy.. however today you have not tempted me a bit with any of the foods or drinks you have mentioned....

Since I have backslid a bit in the past month I must say....

Keep up the good work!

Ok, I really am going to take a walk.  It's been very windy all day (35-45 mph) but it's now calming down. It does look like it could pour rain at any moment, but the weather said not until later, so I'll go now so I can be back and settled in for TAR

bk - First of all, that pic was taken back in 2003(!).  Secondly, I "blame" the camera angle, and that plaid shirt you were wearing for your perceived size.

When the Musso pic was taken I was at my then all-time highest weight.  It's amazing what twenty-eight pounds does - I feel and look so much better now.  Lighter than air, with abs and buns of steel.  And damn it, I will lose that last ten pounds.

Those were a "featured item" at I-HOP today and I couldn't decide if they sounded really good or really bad.  I have been hungry for a pumpkin spice doughnut, though.

All in all, it's not that bad.  If you want a trust "Sugar Shock", just pull up the "Nutritional" Info on the frozen concoctions at Dunkin' Donuts.

;D Yup, which may explain the number of times in the sixties & seventies I was asked what I was on & they wouldn't believe my nothing response.

In reality I wouldn't wear my glasses to parties, and if you didn't know me you might misinterpret the lack of vision for something else.
