"No offense meant" often really means, "You will probably be offended by this."

Actually DR STUART it's the fancy "drag" version of PIPPIN with every 70's sequin dress the costumer could find at Goodwill.   So it's more like the party scenes from APPLAUSE!

Oh my I forgot about Miss Hayward as Mame Dennis!  Yes, that would have been something to see!  Perhaps instead of a bugle, she could have carried her Oscar around the party.

Yup....kinda like "It's not the money, it's the principle of the thing" really means: "It's the money."  ;D

She must have been killed by that dress in DR DtM's photo of her.

My work here is done!

I hesitate to tell you what Berthe is wearing....since she is living in the "country" now.....but I might just say Dolly Parton.  :o

I saw more than one or two eye candy pics, DR Jose. I would have a hard time keeping my mind on my work amid such company.

Of course, you're the utter professional. . . .  :)

Question - why is that time can be dragging by all day, but then when your one precious half-hour lunch break comes along, time all of a sudden decides to speed up?  Unfair, says I.  Unseemly, too.

Yes, just like the comment, "I'm not prejudiced.  I just don't like {blacks/gays/latinos/hispanics/asian/whatever]."

And I HAVE heard such a phrase being piteously exclaimed!

How ironic that the shows JML has criticized as unworthy shows have kept a hundred people each employed for years on end. His own shows don't seem to have that ability. On that basis alone he should keep his mouth shut. Those shows, whether they meet his artistic sensibility or not, make profits that allow producers to invest in shows such as his that are riskier and less prone to make a profit.

Just heard on the news that Barbara Bel Geddes died yesterday.

May she rest in peace.

Though I would file that under ITSWAD.

(I Thought She Was Already Dead.)

Got to RENO 911! today. Though I figured out early the major twist of the show (Garcia's girl friend), there were some laugh out loud bits including disrupting the bachlorette party and telling the ladies "like it is." I got choked laughing so hard.

Yes, very sad about Barbara Bel Geddes. I just re-watched VERTIGO the other day.

On the subject of VERTIGO, I read the other day that the special edition boxed set of Hitchcock masterpieces controlled by Universal will feature new anamorphic editions of VERTIGO and PSYCHO, neither of which was done that way in their original US release.

I hope they release them as separate DVDs. I don't need to re-buy all of those films.

Also finally got around to the QUEER AS FOLK SAY GOODBYE special that aired before the last episode on Sunday night. (I couldn't watch this special live because I was watching - and crying through - SIX FEET UNDER).

Made me a bit teary-eyed to hear them talk about what it meant to them to be a part of the show and sad to know it won't be back. Sharon Gless came right out and said that she wishes the show could have continued, but the relief it was over from folks like Scott Lowell and Gale Harrold was very obvious.

I loved Barbara B. in that episode of ALFRED HITCHOCK's TV series, where she conks her husband over the head with that leg of lamb, and then feeds it to the police officers.

I do believe pg. 3 of today's notes may be the most viewed page in HHW history. Well, for me, at least. ;) Danke, Jose!
