Here at long last :) is my Gov. Mark Sanford CAROLINA PARODY lyric on YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAFeLTchV8c

Hope you like it!  Please pass the link around if you do.   (And all kind ratings and comments are happily accepted, too, if anyone has time to do that, please, please, please)

Any references to South Carolina as boring are meant to be in the mind of the character, not my own opinion!!!

Brava Fred. It was really great and I love the rhymes.

Greetings from Toyland! The AC is running and it's quite refreshing and cool. I've got some writing to do before I catch the bus uptown.

I've been sending emails to my frien  Kim Kowalke and they keep bouncing back to me; I understand that the Musicals in Mufti KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY is being recorded with 2 pianos, and I think that's terrible. Here's a chance for a real recording of the score and an orchestra should be used. The new Kurt Weill Edition to my knowledge hasn't even added KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY to its priority list of editions, I don't believe, and if they're waiting to record the completed with a band, I could be long dead: the KWE was announced arond 1993, and we've been waiting for over 12 years for the editions of LADY IN THE DARK and ONE TOUCH OF VENUS!

Isn't Maria Friedman and the London Cast a complete recording?

Yes, and the orchestra parts are the ones that have been around forever. The new KWE edition of LADY IN THE DARK has not yet been published and it was announced over 12 years ago.

http://www.kwf.org/kwf/kurt-weill/kurt-weill-edition

Thanks for the feedback.

I went to the website and it is a general page and nothing specific on Lady in Dark. Can you guide me to the correct article?

Click on "Available and forthcoming volumes."  Tnat's about all the information you're going to get.

Had some interesting viewing experiences tonight.

First, I finished the bonus features on the SPACEBALLS disc. It wasn't a gag reel that was on the disc; it was a selection of continuity errors/production gaffes which are still in the movie. Kind of honest of them to popint them out.

There were also a couple of trailers for the movie (one for exhibitors with a Mel Brooks introduction).

There were some storyboard-to-film split screen comparisons.

Then I finally got around to watching the movie. Not one of Brooks' best or worst, there are some funny parody ideas, but the execution is often not well thought out and he seems to go for a cheap laugh all too often (like dropping the S-bomb at every opportunity) or a succession of groin/crotch jokes.

The Blu-ray isn't a stellar transfer either. So a mixed bag for this release.

Certainly though, since the only version of it I had was the laserdisc, I'm glad to have this in the archives now.

I had the movie HANCOCK recorded in HD on the DVR, but I decided I'd watch a DVD - THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS.

Now THERE is a beautiful transfer! Gorgeous black and white encode for that film. Really superb!

After it was over, I shut everything off because I still had to write the entire SPACEBALLS review, and it seemed harder to write tonight than usual. I think I'm very tired.

And, yes, DR Jane, it was all quite dee-lish! :)

:)  The sandwich looks yummy.  I'm not big on raw snap peas in the pod.

They were blanched. :)

Unfortunately I need my veggies cooked a bit more.  Were they sweet?  We haven't seen any good snap peas yet & Keith didn't plant a garden this year.

I got some at the farmer's market here last weekend.    they were wonderfukl and sweet

Well, now that the yellow countertops are going, the yellow walls must be changed to something else.   I have looked at tile, wallpaper, all sorts of backsplashes and I just don't know what I'm going to do.   I have decided that the soffit and the upper area of the walls will be painted.  So I wetn paint shopping tonight. It's more difficult than I thought to find a color that will go with everything I've chosen and with the floor I'm not changing at this time.

I think I found one that will work, but i need to see it in the daylight to be sure.

So that's a long way of saying I was back at Home Depot tonight.   I've been to all the do it yourself shops and a couple decorating stores today. I was pleased to see that I couldn't have gotten a better deal somewhere else.

Is there any particular day next week that you were planning on heading into The City?

Nope.  My schedule is wide open!       :)
