Just as I was about to walk out the door to go do the treadmill, Adam, our choreographer, called to remind me we had a noon rehearsal with Julie Reiber and Katie Adams.  So, I changed and headed over to Ripley-Grier.  Thank goodness I told him to remind me, because I hadn't entered it in my calendar.  I got there with time to spare, and he and I staged the gals' number in about forty minutes and it's really cute.  Now I'm very behind.  So, on my way to the treadmill, and then I'll be back to start working on the lighting and projection script.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DR JOSE!

Thank You, DR TCB.

And I hope that you have a peaceful weekend.  I've been sort of refraining from commenting on your situation with Stan, only because it brings up too much of the "stuff" I was dealing with a couple of weeks ago in regards to my Mom's own health... and a couple of years ago when my Dad was dealing with his prostate cancer... And now with DR vixmom's situation, well... It has been a lot to take in.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that I know what you're going through, and I hope you know that you've been nothing but "there" for Stan - even when you were able to be physically there next to his bedside in the hospital. You've been a true friend to Stan, and a great example for all of us.

Well, I believe I'm gonna head out of here for a bit.  I'm not exactly sure where I'm going or what I'm going to do, but I really do need to get off my ass and walk around for a bit.

Black Friday morning and afternoon at Borders was completely and totally busy, busy, busy.
My drawer needed to be pulled TWICE in a 6.5 hour shift!
I'm ready for a nap.
I'm ready for dinner.
I'm ready for surfing the net.
We shall see which wants outweigh the others. . . .

Back from the fitness room - it wasn't quite so cold down there, which was very nice.  I did 7.2 miles and notched up the speed the entire time, so I was averaging seven-minute miles, which is half the time from my long jog.  I did fifty minutes and am sore and pooped, not necessarily in that order.  Drinking water, and soon will start on the script.

It turned quite lovely outside once I got back from my errands. However, it's starting to cloud over again now, and I geuss the rain they predicted is on the way for sure.

And just as I found out last year, Black Friday may cause people to go shop at other stores, but they don't grocery shop. The grocery store where I go was almost empty. I was in and out in record time.

While I ate lunch, I watched THE SHIELD, well, 71 minutes of it. (It was a 90 minute episode). I just had to start on work, but I will finish it this evening. So good, so very sad.

I spent the rest of the afternoon with BOTTLE ROCKET and all of the supplements. This was the Blu-ray version. (I was supposed to get the regular DVD weeks ago, but it never arrived.) I had never seen this before.

Well, it had some precious, silly moments, but the three leads are such simpletons and dunces operating in their own galaxy that I felt 90 minutes with them was too much. (I much preferred the short film which was the basis of this feature.)

This was my first Criterion Blu-ray, and it was a beautiful job. The film's not a dazzling spectacle, but the HD sharpness and dimensionality were very welcome. It had DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound, too.

The bonus features were rather ordinary except for the original short which I really enjoyed after watching the feature first and then seeing what the seed for the film originally entailed. Some of the other bonuses seemed like filler.

But it looks like I will have the evening to myself, so I'll likely watch A CHRISTMAS STORY in Blu-ray and then play catch-up with MONK and PSYCH.

When mine get like that, I usually throw them out.

I'm so behind now, I may not get any work done on the script - however, I should be back here by nine and can do half of it then, and the rest on Sunday morning.

We had a nice T-Day at my mom's. I cooked our customary turkey in champagne and now I'm making turkey carass soup.

I bought my mom and her partner a 42" HD TV as an early Xmas present. We hooked it up last weekend so the guys could watch the football game in its full splendor yesterday. She doesn't have an HD cable box until next week, so we bought an antenna to pull in the local HD channels. It looked really good, probably better than it will look once they get the HD box.

I got to play with my 3 year old nephew---his parents drove up from Florida. He is so cute, and so much fun!

The Closer team has been onlining some teaser spots for the new upcoming shows in January. After 4 years, it's weird not being a part of it. Sort of like watching someone else raise your kids, or running into your ex with his new partner. Even though you may have moved on to someone better, there's still a little pang.

On the Mercer front, we have some exciting things coming up next week---interviews with Dame Judi Dench (she starred in the original London production of Mercer's last musical, THE GOOD COMPANIONS) and Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth, who will perform several songs from FOXY with a small ensemble. Sir John is doing an original arrangement of "Dream" for us. I won't be going since it's in London and I didn't want to blow my frequent flyer miles for just a few days there, but I'm sure looking forward to seeing and hearing the results!
