Well, you've read the notes, you've hummed the notes, and now it is time for the dum dum dum dum cows to come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TARANTISM!
-
In honor of TARANTISM, let's do the Lambada (The Forbidden Dance) and the Mashed Potato and the Swim, baby.
-
I'm telling you - I'm suffering from an extreme case of tarantism right now. It's getting the best of me. It always gets the best of me but the best of me rarely gets it. Funny that.
-
I feel a whole page of ME coming on.
-
Don't you love the title of today's notes?
-
I'm doing the Hokey Pokey right now. I put my left foot in and took my left foot out and then I shook it all about.
-
I'm doing a square dance right now. Do-si-do, baby. Now I'm doing a rectangular dance. I'm a dancing fool!

Friday morning greetings! What am I doing up at this hour in beautiful Tiffin, Ohio? Conference excitement, I guess. Not really nervous, just ready to do this thing (and have it over with!)
Some travel vibes for my DS Rob would be appreciated - he's driving, with a couple of other UC students, to Wisconsin for a conference.
DR Jose - thanks for the link to the sacred harp article. I've emailed it to DH Richard, just in case he missed it.
-
Travel vibes indeed DR Ginny - and conference vibes as well
-
Dum Dum - Brenda Lee
I remember enjoying St George and Dragonet way back when.
-
TOTD: We are still enjoying Series one of "Deadwood" (Just finished disc three)
CDs: Dinah Shore's Greatest Hits.
-
Thanks, DR Tomovoz!
-
Good Morning Ginny.
-
After all that talk yesterday about 110 in the Shade (OBC) I have the CD here at the office. I also brought She Loves Me (OBC), Happy End (original cast from San Francisco's ACT Theatre - thanks again Larry) and Salad Days.
Bretty, if you are looking for somewhat obscure musicals I highly recommend Salad Days by Julian Slade. Here is a brief description. If you Google it you can find many hits for the show. Our own Rodzinski directed a production here in NY a few years ago.
Salad Days (http://www.musicalheaven.com/s/salad_days.shtml)
We have friends visiting this weekend but we are not seeing them tonight so we will partake of our usual comfort television. We will watch As Time Goes By from 9-10 and the third episode of The Vicar of Dibley at 10pm. We also need to watch Rosemary and Thyme which was taped on Tuesday when Anthony was at dance class.
I must defrost the freezer tomorrow and we must go shopping on Sunday morning.
-
And now I'm here by myself so I am off to the kitchen. You know what happens there.
Later, gaters.
-
Good morning, Ben!
-
Check out Tim Rice's Saladin Days too! (Blondel)

I like Blondel.

I am off to the kitchen. You know what happens there.
No. What? ;D

Tarantism - I think that is a movie with Mara Corday. Pretty scary, too. She wears pajamas instead of a nightgown when the giant tarantism attacks her house.
Just the fax, ma'am.
Work day... :(

DR SINGDAW what are you in rehearsal for....or rather for what are you in rehearsal?

TOD:

Good morning DRs Jack and Flingmaw

My loan request has been approved, even though I never applied for a loand AND I won the British lottery, even though I never entered it.
I am so glad we have email or I might have missed these opportunities!

I thought Tarantism was loving to read pulp fiction.

Good morning Flingmaw
I'll have you know I don't fling my maw for just anybody! ;)

Good morning DR TOMovOZ

I've won a random very big monetary prize in Holland! I'm going to send the money to that African widow who has had such a difficult time getting funds out of the country.

Yikes it's TCB turning the page.

AND I won the British lottery
That will buy you a lot of capezios!
-
Yikes it's TCB turning the page.
Scary, isn't it.
-
what are you in rehearsal?
A coy kitten. ;)
In answer to your actual question: nothing exciting. I have a paid section leader job in a local church choir, so I am there faithfully every Thu night and half the day Sunday. But they compensate me rather well, so it is worth the time! :)
-
Too right it is and just when it's my bedtime. (I do sleep at times DR kingpaw.
-
George [DeWitt], I can name that tune in three DUMs.
-
I do sleep at times
I am glad to hear it! You were scaring me, there. Pleasant dreams, in black & white, or color, or whatever... :)

Colour only when it is important to the subject matter. Never in color though of course.
Goodnight North America.
-
And the word of the day is: TARANTISM!
The gay community suffered from a bout of TARANTISM during the early 1980's, when it claimed disco music as IT'S MANTRA.
Sorry, :P
-
I don't have anything on my reading list right now.
I don't have anything on my viewing list right now.
I don't have anything on my listening list right now.
How boring.

I've won a random very big monetary prize in Holland! I'm going to send the money to that African widow who has had such a difficult time getting funds out of the country.
Very generous of you, I am going to keep my British Lottery winnings to pay off the loan I am approved for.
Ahhh...rehearsal in anticipation of PAY.....that's even better, DR SINGDAW. ;D ;)
-
That will buy you a lot of capezios!
One and two and three and kick.
Again! 8)

Time to head for work. I hope everyone has a pleasant day.
-
CONGRATULATIONS, DR JoseSPiano.
That was the first time that Mr. Kander had heard you play the show, and Jim conduct, correct?

Good morning, all! I think my eye problems are the result of allergies at the present. I did get a lot of sleep last night and I feel rather refreshed rhis morning.
At 11, I have a meeting about the continued restoration of the Gershwin-Arlen-Harburg revue LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40 for the Library of Congress, and I may then hit the NYPL for the BABES IN TOYLAND scrapbooks. Again!
I ordered Season 2 of THE CLOSER last night, Hooray!

Good Morning!
Well, I think it's official. My body-clock has reset itself. I seem to be very sleepy by 1:00am, and I seem to get right up at 8:30am - with no assist from the alarm clock. -And I could have slept in today too. Hmm...
Well, maybe that's just official... for now. ;)
In any case... I'm up.
-
And, I, too, have a bowl ready to be washed in the kitchen. But I also had a hard-boiled egg too.

But I don't feel like tarantism
When the old Joanna plays
My heart could take a chance
But my two feet can't find a way
You think that I could muster up a little soft, shoe gentle sway
But I don't feel like tarantism
No sir, no tarantism today.

DR elmore - A lot of people had watery eyes and runny noses yesterday at the theatre yesterday. I believe the finally-clear weather yesterday brought some pollen with it.

CONGRATULATIONS, DR JoseSPiano.

Thank you, DR Singdaw. And, yep, it was the first time that Mr. Kander had heard/seen the show with Team 2 in place.

I am about to enter a two hour meeting where we will learn how to convert 990 Grant Lists from a paper form using OCR into a form which can be loaded electronically into our grants database.
Isn't life in the office just one great learning experience after another.
I will be gone for two hours.
Miss me!

How come you ALWAYS get stuck with the kiddies? :)
And have you ever seen any real life Mama Roses?
-
Miss me!
:-*
Oh. I thought you said, "Kiss me!" ;)
-
DR JOSE congratulations....sleep on the train!
Umm... No. I hate playing shows in a fog - figuratively and literally (Beauty & the Beast anyone?), and last night was just plain weird. "Oh, I guess I should be playing now... Was that my entrance?...." However, like I said, there was no harm done. And, in fact, during the latter half of the show, I finally figured out something from the first half of the show. So... Hmm... Maybe I should sleep on the train... Hmm... ::)
-
I am always paranoid about sleeping on the train, for fear of missing my stop. However, I have missed my stop, wide awake, simply for being too engrossed in a book. So...you can't win!

How come you ALWAYS get stuck with the kiddies? :)
And have you ever seen any real life Mama Roses?
I don't always get stuck with the kiddies. However, I also don't mind getting stuck with the kiddies. It's always fun getting a chance to guide - or misguide or reguide - some of today's youth.
As for any real life Mama Rose's... Well, there was one so far... Complete with homemade matching outfits for her and her daughter. With big pink bows. And the daughter was so "well" prepared for her audition, that she did not know how to proceed when the casting director asked her, "So, what's your favorite subject in school?" -Well, I also prepared my own song. "That's very nice, but what do you like studying in school?" I also brought some other pictures with me.
Unfortunately, the young girl was not very good. And even more saddening was that you could already sense a bit of desperation in her.
Thank you for coming in today.

DR singdaw - Just exactly where is that pic from? And WHY!?!?!?!!??!
-
The Macbeths continue to cause trouble and it all boils down to my dad's famous loan of a large sum of money to the company he started and which is now run by my two brothers. It was my dad's decision, after his March 2006 surgery, to give each of the three sons $11,000 a year in 2006 and 2007, then divide the balance up for 2008. Dad wanted to pay off any outstanding large debts we might have before he died and this was his solution. Randy and I thought it a generous offer. Not Macbeth, who regards the company's bank account as his personal one. Last July, Lady Macbeth told my dad the money belonged to the company for taking care of him and that started all the current tsuris over these funds.
In August, Macbeth grudgingly turned over $11000 to my dad, which I proposed go to my brother Randy since he needed work done on his house. M told him he'd have another $11000 a month later.
In mid-December our 85-year-old father called me in tears because he'd promised me the $11000 by December, stating that M refused to pay it. I resent Macbeth's humiliating our dying dad. Well, a few days later M came through and my check arrived just before the New Year.
Randy had proposed that the company go to the bank, take out a loan for the full amount, and repay our father, but M went to the bank and only took out a loan for $30,000+ Turns out M needed home repairs so he got his $11000! To help me out of my one debt to the IRS (the reason this loan came to light initially), my dad went to the bank and borrowed $5000 to send me in Jan 2007 since M had only given him $11000.
I hate this nonsense and I hate the bickering about money, so I figured if the company would pay Randy and M $11000 within this year, I'd eat my loss of money to keep peace, write off the debt on the estate, and go on. Since I know how M bullies Randy, and since I know this is the reason I'm the executor of the estate, I figured I'd better guarantee this payment isn't forgotten. Last week I sent my brothers letters stating that if I didn't have proof of the $11000 payment to each of them, I'd add the full outstanding balance of the loan to the estate inventory and divide the balance myself between the three of us. All hell has now broken loose. Again.
Oy!

The white skies have gone away and blue skies have returned. It's going to be a really beautiful day here, and none too soon since we've had drizzles for the last two days, and I'm tired of gray and wet. I'll have to mow the grass at some point this weekend but probably not today.

Well, I just took care of some unpleasantries - a.k.a. bills. Ugh.
But then I went ahead and showered and shaved, washed some dishes, and now I'm having lunch: yogurt and granola (a.k.a. my "other" breakfast).
I'm playing a very brief set of auditions in midtown around 2:00, and then I think I'm gonna spend some time in Bryant Park, and then grab a bite to eat at Grand Central before heading on up to Westport for tonight's show.
Sounds like a plan to me.

today the nation is mourning 32 lives extinguised in a senseless act of violence.
No mention is being made of the estimated 80 or more 16-20 year old kids killed in drunk-driving accidents so far this month!

Bretty, if you are looking for somewhat obscure musicals I highly recommend Salad Days by Julian Slade.
Salad Days! That sounds like a fitting title for my food intake the last 3 weeks!
I will definitely seek that one out, thanks.
One of my favorite OCRs happens to be "Once More With Feeling," the soundtrack to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode. Do we have any fans here?
And did anybody see the Scrubs musical episode this season? I assume that would've held some appeal, as it was written by the Avenue Q guy.
-
POTENTIAL "LOST" SPOILER...
And did you happen to notice the "language" tie-in between this episode and last season's finale?
I was wondering what language that copy of CATCH 22 was written in, but I didn't think about it until now. Interesting.
My question is: how did Penny know what to look for the electromagnetic blast that occurred when the hatch exploded? If she knew it was going to happen ahead of time, Desmond must have slipped her the information somehow when he time jumped. Or is there another trip for him to the past coming up next season?

A couple of made in Florida films: STING OF DEATH and THE CHECKERED FLAG.
Heh...I worked as an extra in the following made-in-Florida films: BODY HEAT, PORKY'S II, THE DOGS OF WAR and SPRING BREAK!

I saw it, and I really liked much of it though there were a couple of dud numbers. I'll look forward to seeing it again in reruns, maybe this summer.
Yeah, the one I had the most trouble with was the super-obvious parody of "We Go Together" from Grease. They barely bothered to change the notes in the melody. Some of the rhymes in the "I'm Dominican" number were kind of embarrassinly forced, but it wasn't TOO too bad. Otherwise, I thought the show overall was very tuneful and clever. I guess it helps to already be a fan of the show, which I am.
-
I had time to squeeze in a nap and watch 4 1/4 programs this afternoon!
I began with last night's MY NAME IS EARL. It was a good episode with Burt Reynolds doing a cameo as Big Chubby, the richest and meanest man in town and his offspring Little Chubby played hilariously by Norm MacDonald doing a dead-on Reynolds impression.
-
Next up was SMALLVILLE with Lynda Carter guest starring as Chloe's long-missing mom. I haven't read a SUPERBOY comic book in many decades, but I certainly don't remember so many beings with special powers living in and around Smallville. The show's writers/producers have really changed that mythology very much. Still, I enjoyed the show, and it's really begun the central showdown between Clark and Lex that we've been building toward for years.
-
30 ROCK had a hilarious episode with Liz finding joy in Cleveland, Tracy being hunted by the black mafia (made up of Oprah, Cosby, etc.), and Jack basking in his new (and very suspicious) love.
-
SCRUBS had an offbeat episode with three featured players - Todd, Ted, and Jordan - gaining the spotlight storylines for a change. Star Zach Braff was barely there (did he direct the episode? I forgot to check.)
-
And before sleep overtook me, I managed to watch about fifteen more minutes in the WILD WILD WEST episode I had started yesterday, the one with William Talman guest starring as a sheriff. Hurd Hatfield appears to be the central villain of the piece, but he was covered in so much age make-up that it took me some time to recognize him.
-
DVDs received this week:
"Popular" -- Seasons 1 and 2
I look forward to seeing this wonderful series again.

Alrighty, time to get my parking space on the I-75 parking lot.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when Erica, the host of our gardening show, A GARDENER'S DIARY, will come visit our new garden and make recommendations. She's also bringing me a big gift certificate to her favorite nursery. She is returning the favor for me putting together a demo for her. I was happy to do it because she's a friend, so it was a very pleasant surprise that she wanted to show her gratitude.
I cut a VO demo for a friend's son last week (bk, you talked with him at our screening) and she showed up today to pick it up bearing a nice bottle of wine, a gift certificate to an upscale restaurant group and a thank you note.
So I feel quite rewarded today!

Rene Auberjonois - Les Poissons Lyrics
Les poissons
Les poissons
How I love les poissons
Love to chop
And to serve little fish
First I cut off their heads
Then I pull out the bones
Ah mais oui
Ca c'est toujours delish
Les poissons
Les poissons
Hee hee hee
Hah hah hah
With the cleaver I hack them in two
I pull out what's inside
And I serve it up fried
God, I love little fishes
Don't you?
Here's something for tempting the palate
Prepared in the classic technique
First you pound the fish flat with a mallet
Then you slash through the skin
Give the belly a slice
Then you rub some salt in
'Cause that makes it taste nice
(Zut alors, I have missed one!)
Sacre bleu
What is this?
How on earth could I miss
Such a sweet little succulent crab?
Quel dommage
What a loss
Here we go in the sauce
Now some flour, I think
Just a dab
Now I stuff you with bread
It don't hurt 'cause you're dead

In less than an hour, I'm leaving to work concessions for Leftover Stories to Tell: A Tribute to Spalding Gray (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/season/season_detail.asp?event_id=821), a touring version of THIS (http://www.storieslefttotell.com/). Spalding Gray actually performed here in Olympia at the Washington Center. I ushered for it and was able to get his autograph for a friend of mine for her birthday (she wasn't able to go to the show). She was a big fan of his.

Good Afternoon!
Do they still have basil infused hot chocolate in Bryant Park?

Some days they do, some days they don't. It seems to be sort of random lately.

Gees, everyone is quicker than I am. I'm only half way through today's posts, so if I repeat something else, just ignore it.

I'm going to be leaving the office in 30 minutes and driving home.

When I get home, I shall eat some lovely foodstuffs and prepare for a nice night of Sci-Fi Channel new programming.

When I get home, I shall first change out of my work clothing into nearly nothing at all before preparing my wonderful foodstuffs.

DR Jane - Yes, there is nothing around Dulles Airport. IAD is it's own kingdom so to speak. Alas, most of Northern Virginia is not pedestrian-friendly, unless you count malls and "Towne Centers". So, you could always stay at Dulles Towne Center or Reston Towne Center. You'd have a nice choice of hotels, and some decent shopping. However, as for nature and scenery, not so much.
As for a taxi to IAD... The cheapest alternative - depending upon where you end up staying - is take to take the free shuttle bus from the West Falls Church Metro Station. So, if you happen to stay in DC, you could always just take the Orange Line out to West Falls Church and go from there to IAD.
When I have a bit more time to think about, I'll post more.

Patrick Dempsey, a star on ABC's popular "Grey's Anatomy" television show, is officially entered in Saturday's 3:30 p.m. Koni Challenge GS race at Iowa Speedway, track director of media relations Mike Beecher said this morning.
Officials first confirmed to the Des Moines Register on Wednesday that Dempsey planned to race in Newton.
At that point, however, the actor and racer had not yet entered for the race in Newton.
Dempsey is slated to be one of two drivers in the No. 54 Mustang GT car. He helped his team to a sixth-place finish last weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway.
The GS race in which Dempsey is entered follows the Koni Challenge ST race scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

I must say that the process of getting this show up has been one of the best experiences ever. The director has taken this poor excuse for a show and created a fabulous piece of theatre. I was quite aprehensive of taking this show on, but we have been blessed by a fabulous cast. Very hard working and not a diva among them. THANK GOODNESS. This is what theatre is suppose to be like.

It features the famously versatile BBC Concert Orchestra, and is frequently broadcast from theatres and concert halls throughout the UK.
Friday, 20th April
Ken Bruce presents the show from London's Mermaid with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Simon Lee and Robert Ziegler and special guests Icelandic tenor Gardar Thor Cortes and the stars of the ENO's production of On The Town - Caroline O'Connor, Lucy Schaufer, Sean Palmer, Ryan Molloy and Joshua Dallas. Thanks Jose. I found a hotel with a 15 minute walk to the Town Center, and then they said you can circle the center in 10 minutes. LOL- I will have to do a lot of circling to get a decent walk in. I don’t care about nature, just want a safe long walk. Unfortunately the hotels I called said there isn’t a metro close by for a quick trip into the city. I would have to shuttle to the airport & then take two
Once I have my luggage there will be too much to take the metro. I need my bag & then a larger one to take Craig a few essential, such as towels. I don’t what I can manage to take him, he needs so much & there will be so little space.
I’ll check the Town Center hotels. This isn’t a pleasure trip so I’m trying to keep the costs down.

I should have said "artistic flop"! ;D
I liked it very much, and the latest DVD incarnation looks fabulous, and the DTS surround sound is astounding.
There is a Blu-ray version available, but since I've only had the SD version for a few months, I thought it was too early for an upgrade.
The film has had numerous releases on tape, laserdisc, DVD, and now Blu-ray, so I'd say it was a very popular movie to get that many different releases.
-
I finished that episode of THE WILD WILD WEST it took me three installments to get through. It turned out to be a scary dream of Artemus', and when he woke up, he and Jim West got their prisoner and started on their trip, only . . . ,
the beginning of their journey was exactly the same as the beginning of the dream, so it seemed to be happening all over again.
Looks like the writer had just finished watching DEAD OF NIGHT.
-
Next, I put in BY THE LIGHT OF THE SILVERY MOON.
It's an enjoyable follow-up to ON MOONLIGHT BAY. I think it's too long with too many plot strands, and more break ups and make-ups between protagonists than just about any other musical I can think of. But the singing is lovely.
Warners has made a mess of the transfer, unfortunately. Some of it looks fabulous - very sharp and with good (though not excellent) color. But other parts are soft, the color is very pale in some scenes, color registration is a problem in a couple of scenes, and there are color fluctuations within scenes sometimes, too. Really disappointing. ON MOONLIGHT BAY looked much better.
-
RAINES had an affecting episode tonight with the murder of a 10 year old girl. Not much mystery but some sensitive and well played scenes. Next week is the series finale.
-
I finshed the evening watching a GREY'S ANATOMY episode from the season 1 DVD set. This was the one with the woman having a fifty pound tumor. One of my favorite episodes of the first season.
-
(Blush) Well, it's a very flattering photo of me, as I'm sure Amy will confirm.
It's a nice photo, but you're much cuddlier in person!

I changed my mind at the last minute and went to THRILL ME. So no one else has seen it? I liked it. Both men were sort of weak in their upper range, but it was good. I can tell from listening to excerpts on Amazon that they cut some of the sexual lyrics, but to have male on male kissing more than once on a Sioux City stage was pretty daring.
-
Although the actors' singing was a bit weak at times, they were effective. It was done in a very small theatre. There was a Q & A afterward and most of the audience said there were times they were so uncomfortable (as they were supposed to be) that the wanted to leave. No one left before the Q & A, which was nice
-
The score was ok, but the music seemed to be the same song over and over with different lyrics. I am thinking about buying it to hear it with strong voices. So, I guess I can't say it was bad, lol
-
I love creativity in theatre.
"Sunny", a young man who lives for his music caught up in local rivalry between East and West London crews, he meets and falls in love with "Rose", daughter of the East End's notroiuos club owner "Ma Baker". Echoing Romeo and Juliet, the lovers' relationship fuels hostility between the two gangs, leaving their families face to face with past secrets and forcing them to confront their future.
-
and yes it is a West End Musical.
-
Don't be scared off by the pilot...they fixed a lot of things over the next couple of episodes. Stick with it and I think you might enjoy it! Each season gets better, too!
Trust me. I am a veteran TV watcher and am overly familiar with Gradual Series Improvement Phenomenon (GSIP). Some shows start with a bang and spend the rest of their existence trying to live up to the promise of their pilots (LOST, anybody?). But so many more tend to pick up steam as they go along: Veronica Mars, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters, and even my favorite show of all time, Sports Night, took a while to find their stride.
On the other hand, if the first five minutes of The Closer don't instantly grab me, the DVD set is going straight in the trash can!
:)

Mr Oz; have you seen the special little pic I download here just for your visual pleasure! Have you? :)

of course Boney M "creator Frank Farian went on to greater Grammy Award winning fame with Milli Vanilli.

Boney M was performing locally recently here! Yes, daddy!

Fame was probably the wrong word.

Milli Vanilli of the BIG scandal???!
-
Same scam here in France (Belgium) where a singer was "singing" with someone else's voice! Now, he sings with his own and... I can't tell the difference! Ah!
-
Boney M was performing locally recently here! Yes, daddy!
I think Liz Mitchell is the only original member now.

I must get some sleep...night

Good Evening!
Back from Westport. Back from the show.
Good show. Good audience.
And tomorrow we have two shows. One at 4:00. Then one at 8:00. So, in the span of six and a half hours we will be presenting two performances of All About Us. -I just wanna know who came up with that schedule? We only get an hour and a half off between shows. However, the upside is that because the break is less than two hours, the theatre is required to provide the between-show meal. :)
But still... 4:00? And then 8:00?
-
Perhaps Boney M can survive as long as touring groups the " Platters" and the "Drifters".

As for DR Ben's widescreen... Well, I thought it was related to DR Ben's oatmeal pics... Well, actually, those were DR singdaw's oatmeal bowl pics... Which DR Cillaliz quoted in her post... Then edited out later... I think... Well.... OK....
Blame me.

Yes, the "filthy" one, right?!

Today we went to the arboretum. Then we went to Organ Stop, which MusicGuy knows well. They have a theater organ that has lots of instruments that the organist plays from the organ. Tonight's organist played DR Sandra's request (Singin' in the Rain) but did not play mine (Besame Mucho).
-
DR François - There actually is a musical based on the "Little House On the Prairie" series of books that's currently in development. There was a staging of it last summer at New York Stage & Film directed by Francesca Zambello. The music is by Rachel Portman (of Chocolat fame), the book is by Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart), and the lyrics are by Donna DiNovelli.
They actually had a private reading here in NYC earlier this week. Melissa Gilbert and Patrick Swayze were slated to play Ma and Pa.
-
no that was "pig pen" I think.
-
Rerun was the little brother of Linus and Lucy.
-
DR Cillaliz - Thrill Me seems to be having quite a life right on the regional theatre circuit. I know of at least four other recent productions that friends of mine have been involved in.
-
DR elmore - I'll be sure to say HI to Tazewell if he's around this weekend.
OH... And as for next week...
I keep forgetting that I have a 10:30am school matinee on Tuesday, so I'll already be up there. So, I'll leave it up to you and DR FJL if you want to come up early to sup up there, or if you just want to come in closer to showtime. We'll talk.

Well, there are always the "Big Blue Vans" that aren't too expensive. And they're usually cheaper if they pick you up at a hotel. You may also want to see if the hotel has a free airport shuttle. A lot of them out in that part of Fairfax do.
As for a nice long walk.... If you happen to find a hotel that's near the Dulles Access Road or I-66, there are nice trails that run parallel to both roadways.

Hello DR George.
Hi Tom!
-
Hello, George and good bye!
Good bye, François.
Too late. :(

:)
B
I LOVED "Sports Night"! I bought the DVD and it was the very first time that I bought a whole TV series on DVD. I "loaned" it to my dad, but he hasn't given it back, yet. I think I need to buy a copy for myself...again. ;)
-
Hello to DR Craig's Dad.
-
Right now, I'm listening to Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz (http://www.npr.org/programs/pianojazz/) with this week's guest, Janis Siegel of The Manhattan Transfer! A friend of mine asked if I would record this and I certainly will!! I'm not recording it right now, but it's archived (I don't know for how long), so I have some time. ;D
