Title: THE SPINNING HEAD BY RONCO TOYS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were spinning and worked up a head of something or other, and now it is time for you to post until the spinning cows come home.

Good morning.

So sorry to hear about Edi's beloved cat!   Vibes of comfort her way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Storm seems to finely be gone but we are still dealing with her left overs.  Lots of people out of their homes due to flooding.  I was lucky that the worst I have to deal with is the little twigs and some small branches.  Didn't even lose power for very long.  Just that one half hour or so.

Have a wonderful day all!  Vibes for cooler or warmer air for those who need it!!!!

Did a three mile walk (well it's better than nothing!) and as I'd only had a tomato and tiny piece of ham for breakfast, I stopped off for a bacon, tomato and cheese baguette - I only ate half the bread though.

More vibes for Edi and plenty to spare for anyone else in need.

Happy birthday to David Wechter.

Good morning, all! I slept well, i think. In my last dream I was in a laundromat with a ton of laundry, deciding how to sort it and waiting for Liz Callaway.

Today, I am heading down to Toyland to check on things and make some corrections in the orchestra parts. Around 1:30, i will head to midtown to meet Ben Davis for coffee. Then, home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Good mid-week vibes to one and all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another bee-yoo-tee-full morning, both in the South of Jersey and over on Pennsy side.  But I could feel the heat from the sun as I walked from the train station and I can tell that a hot day is coming.
Off to town soon to meet up with an old work colleague. After a bite to eat and a drink we have tickets to attend a debate about the Government's policy for aviation in London - something we both have an interest in; i.e. we want more and bigger airports!
Wednesday morning greetings!  Even though we had our windows open last night and enjoyed cool breezes, the heat is on its way to SW Ohio.  They say it'll be near 100o tomorrow and Friday, with warnings of nasty air quality.  Great - Mom and I have a shopping trip planned for tomorrow...
Speaking of which, I must do our grocery shopping today and go to a retirement reception at the local campus library for the last remaining person hired by moi before I left there when Rob was born.
At last night's rehearsal - of Act Two - which we did twice.....we did okay.....and the second time through both scenes were better.
As I gave one note - one actor decided to talk about how he agreed with me and that is was the right thing to do....I let him finish, and then went on without comment.  I think he was the only person in the room who didn't know I was annoyed....he also gives notes and direction to the other actors no matter how many times I tell him to stop....
There is another actor playing the same role here that he had played before - and I give him DIFFERENT things to do, and especially different ways to say things.....he does what I say for one rehearsal and then it's back to the old way - which is NOT GOOD.  I gave him some actions to do during one long speech - and he did them half assed for two rehearsals, so last night I said: "Just forget it.  You can't get your actions to match your words, which they SHOULD."
As another oblivious person, he thought he was being praised, and said: "Thank you. I didn't like it either."
It wasn't working because you WEREN'T doing it correctly, dummy.  This last sentence of course was understood rather than spoken aloud.
This is a song that I wrote with my son, David, for our (still in development) musical version of HAIL ON THE CHIEF!.
We eventually cut the number because it didn't work within the book, but I happened to listen to the demo again last week, and was (once again) so taken with Cindy Robinson's terrific rendition that I decided to turn it into a music video for her.
Please enjoy!
Pug, who directed both productions of Cannibal! The Musical! that I was in, said that she would never cast people in a role that they'd performed before...especially if she'd directed them (unless she really had no choice).  She wants to see people do different things.  She doesn't even like to see people audition with pieces from shows that they've performed in (when she's seen the performance).
DR JRand,
I watched SUSAN SLADE the other day and thought of you. I had never seen the whole movie before. I liked it, mostly. And the baby catching on fire gave me a start, even though I knew it was coming.
Was Dorothy McGuire pregnant when she made that film...she sure looks a bit hefty in the middle during some scenes.
BK, I hang out on occasion on two Facebook sites, "Original Cast Recordings" and Forgotten Musiicals" as well as cast recording list, and there are complete assholes who know nothing and believe they know it all on everyone of them.  One of them is a smug, complete horror on all three sites. DR TCB - the middle school group is doing THE TEMPEST...and the high school group is doing THE TEMPEST IN PARADISE....both adapted by Caroline Good, who is very good at working with young people.
She is the blonde lady in the first photo.....she runs the Costume Department over at DePauw University, and has been in several plays I directed.....she and husband Tim are both very talented.
Back from a lovely retirement reception for Belinda, who I hired to work in the local campus library 31 years ago.  While there I also had nice chats with Anne and Joanne, who I also hired.  They've both retired - Anne last year from another library and Joanne 2 years ago from the campus.  The only legacy I have left now at that library is the shut-down between Christmas and New Year's.
George, those are blatant bootlegs - they know Warners and Universal won't be bothered to come after them - it's taken from vinyl and sounds like crap.  And it makes companies like mine even more reluctant to release them.
BK, you are listed on the Arkiv release of WORKING as "Reissue Producer."
Which type of flying are you trying to promote or protect?  Private/General Aviation?
Basically London's main airport Heathrow is at maximum capacity but political parties have ruled out expansion due to environmental issues but offer no alternatives, to the dismay of airlines who want to offer more flights.
I'm totally comfortable with people calling me whichever name they wish.  I'm Charles to most everyone, but a few friends have actually come up with "Chas" as a nickname all on their own, and I'm totally happy with it.  There's a whole segment of people from my past who know me as Charlie, which is jarring to those who hear it now, but that, too, is totally comfortable for me.  I'll respond happily to any and all of the above.
I actually always rather liked this (antiquated) abbreviation for the name.  It's what I've generally used online in some variation or other, which probably started when I wanted something short, so I automatically went with it when joining HHW.
I think the only related name I can happily do without is Chuck.  It's fine on other people, but I am not a Chuck.
Here's the shocker of the day: I'm close to having to repress the Nudie Musical Blu and Ray - which means we've sold almost five hundred copies, which is most wonderful.  I know it may not seem like a lot, but selling that number means the disc is actually into profit and has covered all of its costs - transfer (remember that the Kickstarter covered a bit less than half that cost), pressing, design, and printing.
So, then, here's the dilemma. I can listen to my vinyl of "Donnybrook," but I never could get my hands on a copy of "A Time for Singing." So, buy the bad CD to hear the score or never hear the score?
Good morning, all! I slept well, i think. In my last dream I was in a laundromat with a ton of laundry, deciding how to sort it and waiting for Liz Callaway.
Today, I am heading down to Toyland to check on things and make some corrections in the orchestra parts. Around 1:30, i will head to midtown to meet Ben Davis for coffee. Then, home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Good mid-week vibes to one and all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
